The first episode takes the notion that Space Marines can only be created from young boys to the extreme. In 40k, they're rarely just snatched up in kidnappings, the worlds recruited from almost always have a strong cultural or historical connection with the Chapters in question. In some cases it's considered an extreme honor, in other cases, it's them being ascended to their notion of heaven. Doing what they do in the shows wouldn't make any sense since you wouldn't be able to vet the worthiness of a candidate. That brings me onto the 'globules'. This is referencing the 'progenoids'. Artificial organs used to create Space Marines. They're grown inside of a Space Marine and harvested regularly or upon death. The process for implanting them takes almost a decade to complete, and death isn't uncommon. It is correct that the medics of the unit collect them. The funny thing is they use the Imperial Guard term 'Medicae' when the Space Marine version is 'Apothecary'. Hatemonger is a good example of a Chaplain, and Games Workshop's tapdancing around their setting.
