The Duck was a planned live-action/animated hybrid movie that was set to be directed by veteran animator Uli Meyer, who worked on a live-action/animated hybrid movies like Roger Rabbit and Space Jam. He had pitched this for 20th Century Fox and other major studios between 1998 to 2001, and it was going to be a superhero comedy about a real-life duck being transformed into a cartoon one that looked exactly like Donald Duck or Daffy Duck. Even in the original pitch, it resembled either characters as a coincidence but not really. After being turned into a cartoon duck, he decides to become a superhero to save everyone from fear and danger. According to Meyer, he and his crew were excited once Fox successfully picked it up, and they were this close to making it. Despite being greenlit however, the movie did not get made due to lack of a funding, so they pulled the plug on it indefinitely. It was pulled due to the financial failure of Titan A.E., effectively cancelling projects from Fox Animation Studios, including the live-action/animated hybrid The Duck. Of all things, just a proof of concept art (pic related) and two short clips (links down below) for the movie were made.

The CG Casper movie was to be directed by Simon Wells, who originally was going to direct the sequel to the live-action 1995 movie, but when Casper 2 was cancelled in July 2000 due to poor reception of the DTV movies and hesitation of its star Christina Ricci, he backed out from that one, and moved on to direct the remake of The Time Machine, released in March 2002.

Wells came back to DreamWorks following the indestructible failure of Disney's Mars Needs Moms (and the closure of ImageMovers Digital), and once Harvey Comics' owner Classic Media was purchased by DreamWorks, and rebranded as a newly formed DreamWorks Classics, the studio had plans to make movies and shows based on old properties, with Mr. Peabody and Sherman releasing to theatres on March 14, 2014. Weeks beforehand, they announced a CG Casper movie was in development. Wells was set to write and direct with John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky (writers and producers of King of the Hill and co-creators of Silicon Valley) attached to co-write with. Around that same time, another property from the Harvey line, Hot Stuff the Little Devil, was being developed as a live-action/CG-hybrid movie, with Lizzie and Wendy Molyneux (writers of Bob's Burgers) to pen the script, both were hoping to start a cinematic universe of their own.

However by the time Mr. Peabody and Sherman came to theatres, it was a box office bomb, and the studio was already facing its economic downturn of its own by the end of that same year, cancelling projects left and right, including then-upcoming B.O.O., a similar CG supernatural ghost-themed adventure comedy which was already having a troubled production of its own. Both Casper and Hot Stuff movies ended up also being scrapped.

DreamWorks would continue to use Harvey properties with the show Harvey Street Kids, which ran between 2018 to 2020, and in 2022, Wu Kai-yu (writer of shows like Hannibal and The Flash) was set to develop a live-action/CG-hybrid, but nothing came of it as of 2025.

What you're seeing are character designs of Casper for the cancelled movie from concept artist Danny Williams of which he posted in 2023 via his ArtStation. He stated the movie "went nowhere."

Here's test footage for their own CG Zelda movie made by Imagi themselves, the same studio that made TMNT. They hoped to get their movie off the ground with Nintendo being involved, but after the dismal performance of Astro Boy at the box office, Imagi cancelled all plans for this movie, as well as other projects they had in development such as Cat's Tale, Tusker (a movie originally made by DreamWorks before that was canned), their adaptation of Gatchaman, and their sequel to TMNT, as the company had shut down. Only both concept art and a demo reel were ever revealed to the public (pic related).

ten years ago, Kanye West was repeating a claim that he was 'creative director' for a Jetsons movie. I don't think he was consulting with Leon Joosen though.

>In the 1980's Chevy Chase was signed on to play George Jetson in a Joe Dante directed Jetsons movie.
>At one point Jim Carrey and Nicole Kidman were considered to play George and Judy Jetson.
I believe after Joe Dante, Rob Minkoff was attached to direct The Jetsons but Paramount still thought it would be too expensive.

>Popeye was a proposed film that was going to be made by Sony Pictures Animation based on the famous cartoon character Popeye created by E. C. Segar. The film was to be directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (the creator of Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory and writer for The Powerpuff Girls). Its production began in 2010, and it would be released at some point in 2016.

>>
>>150612302
The Emoji Movie's production was as late as August 2015, months after its director's movie B.O.O was canned by DreamWorks and once he left to Sony Animation. Sony Pictures purchased the Emoji rights to make an animated movie out of it. But nowhere does it have anything to do with Popeye whatsoever. The leaks were made back in December 2014 surrounding the release of the Seth Rogen comedy The Interview when North Korea hacked Sony Pictures' website and emails leaking and detailing information about behind-the-scenes embargo. Any mentioning of The Emoji Movie is nowhere to be found because it was not in production at that time

In 2008 Adam McKay was planning to adapt The Boys with a movie trilogy. Simon Pegg was going to play Hughie while Russel Crowe was eyed for the role of Butcher. According to Garth Ennis the trilogy was going to have the crew at the Farallon Islands.
>That effort to do The Boys got as far as a script being written. And it was extraordinary, because the final battle was in the Farallon Islands. Most people don't know where the Farallon Islands are, but I do because I've been there. They're about four hours off the Californian coast. ... It's mostly known for its population of great white sharks. I knew this because I was there hoping to see said sharks. They did not show up. But in the script, the final battle is in the Farallon Islands, and there's not a single shark. And you think, 'Well, you've missed a trick there, pal.'

A modern day remake of the live-action/animated Warner Bros. cult classic from 1963 The Incredible Mr. Limpet was originally set to start production between 1998 or 1999 with Jim Carrey to star, Steve Oedekerk to direct and the writing duo of Space Jam to pen the screenplay for a set release date of Summer 2000 (or at the latest 2001). Budget concerns and horrifying CG effects accompanied with bad test reactions led to the cancellation of the project. Brad Bird originally wanted to direct the movie after completing The Iron Giant as Oedekerk's permanent replacement, but terrified what the project looked like, he quickly backed out.

Mike Judge (Beavis & Butthead, King of the Hill and Office Space) would end up being the director of the movie and also penning the script in addition, and also wanting actors like Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers, Bill Murray, Chris Rock, Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, and Adam Sandler to star as the lead role, and had hoped to start production in early-2001, but nothing came of it since. In fact, the almost a whole entire decade, there was radio silence about a Mr. Limpet remake up until Summer 2009, when Kevin Lima announced as director, and on June 2010, he appointed Zach Galifianakis (fresh from The Hangover) as the main star. However on March 2011, Richard Linklater would be involved with the project and was announced as director on January 2014. That same year in July, Jon Hamm, Danny McBride, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jordan Peele had entered talks for various roles in the film, but one month later, Linklater left to do his next movie, Everybody Wants Some!!

Over a decade later, and there's still no word about a Mr. Limpet remake as it's still in development hell to this very day at the time of posting.

Here's test footage of the Oedekerk version from circa 98/99:

They planned a Johnny Thunder Lego cartoon around 2003, based on the Lego Adventurers series. Ultimately it went nowhere beyond an animation pitch and a brief document, which is strange considering that this was Lego's experimental phase when they tried to branch into all sorts of media like video games, television and movies.

There were also a bunch of unproduced Lego Bionicle movie proposals.
One pitched by unspecified studios in the early 2000s about a human kid getting sucked into the Bionicle world. Rejected because Lego wanted no humans in the franchise. The film Mask of Light was made instead.
A possible 2005 prequel movie that would have taken place before the second film, which was already a prequel. Scrapped after Lego asked the writers to do a different story and have it be set during the final scenes of second film.
An army-themed movie also by an unspecified studio around 2006. Rejected because one of the Bionicle creators, Christian Faber, thought it sounded like a bad imitation of DnD and Lord of the Rings.
Lego reconsidered the idea of a theatrical movie after the financial success of 2007's Transformers. They concluded that film was successful because the human characters helped ground the story, and they still wanted to keep humans out of Bionicle.
Another movie about Bionicle toys coming to life Toy Story style and interacting with other Lego characters. This too was scrapped but the same studio went on to make The Legend Reborn in 2009. Faber had many criticisms with the amateurish production and made his own edit of the movie that wasn't released.
The Legend Reborn's two sequels were scrapped when the franchise got discontinued. An online image slideshow was made instead, narrated by Michael Dorn.
Faber claims he was told by people involved with 2014's The Lego Movie that a Bionicle film could also be a possibility but this never went beyond a suggestion.

This. I get that it's a test, but it doesn't seem like they any any really good gags that would make this stand out as being especially funny, and the 2D integration was really sloppily done, so it doesn't sell itself on the idea that this was going to be a Roger Rabbit-tier spectacle of masterfully acted and staged 3d-2d interaction.

Billion Brick Race was penned by Jason Siegel as part of the Lego Movie universe and the plot of the movie was meant to be similar to that of either the 1965 comedy The Great Race or the 2001 comedy Rat Race, but with an original Lego characters. The movie was already greenlit and was in development, but was quickly cancelled by the time The Lego Movie 2 disappointed expectations at the box office and Warner Bros. would cancel other Lego Movie projects such as the Lego Batman sequel. WB would then lose the Lego name to Universal not long after

That clip wasn't a pitch for a show. The first game was going to originally have animated cutscenes, but it was scrapped to focus on making eyecatching 3D ones instead to fit the push for 3D.

There was a cartoon pitch later though, around the time of Nitro Fuelled and Crash 4, that your pic is from. This was the animated test used to try and sell it to streaming services:

I think the problem is the issue with how animation "sells" in general, at least for Western studios. In live action you have a wide variety of genres, Drama, Action, Comedy, Horror.

But you can't really explore all those pathes with an animated film. I mean you can, but no studio would want to touch it so, instead you're stuck with endless variations on the same quirky sort of adventure. I looked at every one of these and just saw a gimmick

Newt was a Pixar movie that was about to followup Brave (which originally was supposed to followup Toy Story 3). Director Gary Rydstrom pitched an idea about two of the last remaining blue-footed newts on Earth, both male and female, who despite disliking each other, are forced together by science to save the species, even though they end up focusing on loving each other than saving science.

In fear of not wanting another Antz/Bug's Life situation, production of the movie ended up getting cancelled once Blue Sky was working on Rio, which had a very similar plot, so Pixar ended up moving forward with Cars 2, which sandwiched between Toy Story 3 and Brave, and Rydstrom would soon leave the studio out of frustration. Pixar would eventually retool Newt as Inside Out, which was released in 2015

>The movie from the '90s was the most faithful adaptation to the Casper cartoons
It's not faithful at all, that's precisely WHY it worked. Harvey Casper was born a ghost, he never actually died. Nor did Casper ever have a love interest, even girls like Wendy were never anything more than strictly platonic. He was about as sanitized as you could possibly make a ghost. The 90s movie threw all of that away in favor of something relatively edgier.

Hell, the fact that he canonically dies in the movie pissed off Harvey Comics enough for DreamWorks to roll it back with the DTV movies.

Weirdly enough the death backstory was pretty controversial in general at the time. The film got mixed critical reception because of it, with critics either loving or hating it. Just very strange to look back on, especially with the movie being more universally considered a holiday classic.

The "New Adventures of Batman" episode "Holiday knights" is an adaptation of the comic book of the same name (also by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini) They animated Harley in underwear just like in the original comic and it was ready to air, But just a few months before the episode was supossed to come out WB changed their mind so they clumsily edited short pants on Harley.
These guys claim to know someone who has the original uncensored copy:
https://twitter.com/MinddKidzag/status/1383865547259977731
the uncensored copy was never used for any DVD or BD release of the show, The BD fixed the animations in some scenes and added stuff, They made Harley's edited shorts looks less shit but they still used the censored version since this is a kid's show still, Over the years people found some of the original animation cels for the uncensored scene (pic related), But still no one has shared the finished animation so far despite it being confirmed to exist

There was even a plot for the failed movie leaked long ago
>(1/2)
>The movie begins with a young boy (named "Johnny") and his father escaping London during the Blitz during World War II. They are evacuated to his father's old home, situated nearby a railway station. While there, Johnny discovers drawings by his father of engines with faces.
>One night, Johnny heads down to the station when he is unable to sleep. At the station, he meets Edward, and helps to remove a sign stuck in his wheels. As a thank-you, Edward takes Johnny on a ride through "other-worldly caves and waterfalls" to the Island of Sodor, a fantasy realm run entirely by trains, with no people.
>At Tidmouth Sheds, Johnny meets James, Percy and Emily, along with new characters Squeak and Puffing Billy. In the corner of the sheds he finds Thomas, who is sitting disused: "his coal unlit, because he wasn't useful". Johnny relights his fire, bringing Thomas back to life. Thomas mistakes Johnny for his father, who used to travel with them long ago.

>(2/2)
>Throughout the film, Johnny journeys back and forth between Sodor and his new home. He tells his father about his adventures, however he does not believe him - having forgotten Sodor - until he reunites with Thomas at the end of the movie.
>In a big, grimy, industrial city on the other side of Sodor, a gang of diesels - led by Smoke - plots to take over the Island and smelt all of the steam engines. The diesels begin their ambush by derailing the steam engines and shutting down the coaling plants in the mountains of Sodor. With the steam engines unable to stop them, it is up to Thomas and Johnny to stop their takeover.
>Thomas and Johnny journey across other parts of the Island, meeting other new characters. These include Bertha, four military boats (two of which are a husband and wife), and three French mine carts which start a resistance against the diesels utilising underground tunnels.
>In the climax, there is a relay race across Sodor between the steam and diesel engines. The day is saved by Gordon, who returns after having disappeared during the diesels' takeover. The film ends with a shot of Thomas, Johnny and his father riding into the sunset.

Following after the success of the Viva Pinata TV show, a Banjo-Kazooie TV show was in development with Emilio Lopez, Adrian Barrios, and Keith Conroy being known to be involved in it. It was set for a 2008 airdate, but according to Lopez, plans fell through after a fallout from the team due to design revisions and the project was ultimately shelved for good

>In July 2007, Avi Arad revealed that a Venom spin-off film was in the works. Sony commissioned Jacob Aaron Estes to pen a script, but it was rejected the following year.

>The movie would take place after the events of Spider-Man 3 and see the piece of symbiote that escaped the final fight getting dumped in the californian desert then regenerating back into Topher Grace's Eddie Brock, who would be wracked by guilt over his actions.

>The disoriented Eddie stumbles into a diner and meets waitress Honey Horrorwitz, with whom he falls in love after saving her life from a biker gang. Honey becomes determined to clear Eddie's reputation, convincing him to talk to the press and write a biographical book justifying Venom's attack on New York City.

>Eddie reveals that the symbiote was seen as an aberration in its homeworld for bonding with its hosts rather than eating them, which prompted its kin to lock it in a crystal pod and eject it into space. He also notes that the symbiote has developed feelings for him and is jealous of Honey.

>Eddie and Honey would move into San Francisco, where Venom makes a name of himself a lethal vigilante, while Eddie's career enjoys a resurgence.

>The main villain was Cletus Kassady, a failed opera singer turned serial killer who quickly realizes Eddie Brock is Venom. Cletus attempts to blackmail Eddie into writing his biography, getting attacked by an enraged Venom as a result. A piece of the symbiote gets attached to Cletus, who emerges as Carnage and goes on a rampage.

>The movie would end with Venom fighting a singing Carnage atop the Golden Gate Bridge. Eddie sacrifices himself to save Honey by fusing himself with Carnage and locking both in Venom's crystal pod.

>The script was written with an R rating in mind and didn't feature Spider-Man as a character.

Matthew Vaughn and Mark Millar pitched a Superman trilogy before Zack Snyder's Man of Steel was picked up.
>As for the DC Universe, the director said he has been in touch with new studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran (“we’ve been talking”) but no project is currently on the table. Vaughn did confirm that before the previous DC Universe launched with Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel,” he pitched Warner Bros. on a Superman film trilogy alongside comic book writer Mark Millar.
>“Mark and I sat down and plotted out a three film trilogy, pitched it to Warner Bros. before ‘Man of Steel’… we pitched how to do a trilogy of Superman movies and Warners said they weren’t interested,” Vaughn said. “That’s as far as it went.”
>Vaughn said his Superman trilogy would’ve harkened back to the tone of Richard Donner’s 1978 “Superman” and included villains such as Lex Luther, Zod and Braniac.
>“I think Donner nailed it,” Vaughn said. “‘Wonder Woman’ worked very well because it was basically a Donner/Superman film but reimagined as Wonder Woman. I would’ve done a modern version of Donner. Our big idea was that Krypton doesn’t blow up. It does eventually. The dad was right, but he got his timing wrong. When Superman is grown up, suddenly there’s a mass exodus and all hell breaks loose. That was our main idea.”

>Natalie Portman Boards Animated Movie ‘Foxy Trotter’ From Bold Films.
>Bold Films will produce and finance its first animated film, “Foxy Trotter,” with Natalie Portman producing and voicing a role.
>Chris Prynoski is directing from a script by Jess Rotter, Michael Reich, Jessica Hundley and Mike Pinkney. In addition to Portman, the producers are Bold Films’ Michel Litvak and Gary Michael Walters, Chris and Shannon Prynoski and Ben Kalina of animation shingle Titmouse, Reich and Rotter, who is also the art director. The executive producers are Lisa Zambri and Jessica Hundley.
>“Foxy Trotter” is a motorcycle-riding, rock and roll photographer in the early ’70s on a mission to capture the perfect rock photo. Portman will voice Foxy’s best friend, Ronnie, who is seduced by her archrival Gunter and offered as a sacrifice in Gunter’s evil plan to destroy the universe.
>“We are thrilled to launch this inventive, sexy, psychedelic, hilarious, female-oriented animated film with such a glowingly talented star and producer like Natalie Portman,” Litvak said.
>“‘Foxy Trotter’ is a wild mix of ‘Barbarella’ meets ‘Sausage Party’ meets ‘Easy Rider,'” Pryonski added.
>Bold Films produced and financed “Shot Caller,” “Drive,” and “Whiplash.” The company made the announcement Nov. 2 at the American Film Market. Wild Bunch will handle sales at AFM.

I am surprised there are at least 3 non-Pixar Toy story 3 treatments.
(Some details might be wrong)
>Whodunit plot was drafted before Circle 7 was a thing and could have probably been more akin to a 2D animated special (Think of how Stuart Little 3's visuals are completely CGI instead of Life action with CG characters.), writers admit that draft was more of a "we can do this if we wanted to" draft to keep Pixar in line, second version was by completely different writers (Original writers never knew of that version until recently) and was one Circle 7 at least considered making at one point.
>Merged Family draft was about Andy's mom marrying Andy's baseball coach and now having to deal with a new father with a daughter who was his age and also had toys, the story would have Zurg as a main member of the gang and have bootleg versions of Mr. Potato head and a Spanish bootleg Buzz Lightyear in Mexico, while the main writer was working he discovered that this draft was to face the Buzz is recalled to Taiwan draft.
>The Taiwan draft everyone knew for the longest time, merged family writer said that the reason this draft was chosen was because of marketability, but there could have been a chance that the merged family draft could have been used for a hypothetical Circle 7 Toy Story 4.

>Monsters, Inc. 2: Lost in Scaradise
>it would have focused on Mike and Sulley wanting to celebrate Boo’s birthday. However, Boo has moved, which results in Mike and Sulley getting trapped in the human world, so Mike and Sulley go on a mission in the human world to search for Boo and find a way home in time for Mike and Celia's wedding.
>Years later, Pixar started production on a prequel film to Monsters, Inc. entitled Monsters University. Although it's been theorized/rumoured that Monsters, Inc.: Lost in Scaradise was reworked into Monsters University, this however, was not the case.
>Finding Nemo 2
>Not to be confused with Pixar's 2016 sequel film Finding Dory, Nemo 2 would've focused on Nemo reuniting with his long-lost twin brother "Remy." Marlin (Nemo and Remy's father) then gets captured and sent to the aquarium "PLANET BLUE," so Nemo, Dory and Remy have to go and rescue him. Unlike Circle Seven's other planned films, no concept art for Finding Nemo 2 has surfaced, and it's unclear if any were made.

Yeah, this design is rough. Banjo's whole thing is being colorful, cartoonish and cheery, but this has the mid-to-late 2000's curse of lacking all of that. Like, why replace his bright yellow shorts with camo? Why add a bunch of extra pockets that's only going to make it harder to animate? He literally has a backpack for that! It's so dumb.

As much as I would've loved a BK cartoon as a kid, I can see why it fell through. It probably could work now though, since media is no longer beholden to that gritty aesthetic.
>>
>>150653366
My main issue with this kind of show is that the concept flies at odd's with John K's style. It's clearly made for little girls, but I can't see that audience resonating with his more grotesque expressions.

Then again, if "As Told By Ginger" can have that audience despite being butt-ugly, maybe this could've as well.
>>
>>150661535
The whole reason why the Viva Pinata cartoon worked much better was, while it was bright and flashy, it was actually the whole point of it just like the game itself (plus the show was comedy gold). I feared that having that same aesthetic would not have that same energy going forward with the Banjo-Kazooie show back in 2008, even if the games were already intended to be lively, cheerful, whimsical, nutjobby and colorful. But yea, I hope now would be the right time to do so. They can literally just go nuts with these characters and have fun
>>
lost bump
>>
>>150661713
Fair enough; I forgot how close Viva Pinata was to that, and that was one of my favorite cartoons of the era. Now that I think about it, I wonder if Nuts and Bolts also had something to do with the design as a way to tie into it?

Klasky Csupo was just "stylized funny ugly" for their shows, although As told by Ginger did make the characters look quite weird and maybe went a bit more then usual, take it with a grain of salt but apparently they did went with Csupo because during early development the direction of the show was that they made the characters too beautiful and cute to the point of feeling Loliesque and that weirded out the execs, so they went with the KC style instead.

But this, even the ads were very weird despite not having any of the R&S type of humor, but Adult Party Cartoon was still recent enough, you can have cute or attractive or pleasent art styles in stories that can be dark, out there or even fucked up, to some extent, but I don't think you could do the opposite, having a grotesque and freaky style for something meant to be more wholesome and innocent and take it straight lace, it's like making a Precure style Magical Girl series with the art style of Suehiro Maruo, the god of Gorn.

Come to think of it, maybe the Banjo-Kazooie would have worked in that same exact style. Again, the games were colorful and flashy, and they would work well in cartoon form. Plus, having the characters in CGI form would work, given that by that point, computers were used to these squash-and-stretch aesthetics. So maybe they could use these models from Nuts and Bolts for the show. Y'know, so the show would just promote the game at the time of its release

What even was the last thing Don Bluth worked on, Titan AE?

If there's anything done for the Dragon's Lair movie I hope it'll get leaked at his death in 2 years

It was, and it made so much money that there was indeed a sequel

>What even was the last thing Don Bluth worked on, Titan AE?
Kinda. He did do "some" work after, regardless how colossal of a failure Titan A.E. was. In 2004, he worked on a music video for Scissor Sisters single, called "Mary"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThYOmxGgXzw
He also made a short film in 2009, called "Gift of the Hoopoe," and just as recent as last year, he made a children's book, "Yuki, Star of the Sea"

>Cancelled/unfinished /co/ projects
How often does that happen?
>>
>>150666868
I always see this cancelled Movie being also a parody of the Don Bluth, some of 90's Warner Brothers, Pre-Shrek DreamWorks (as the Prince character in this image looks like he's partly a parody of The Prince of Egypt) and FOX's own animated movies (as the Princess character looks and feels partly a parody of Anastasia while the Prince's animal sidekick looks and feels partly a parody of Bartok) than a parody of Disney Renaissance movies as they described it to be.

A lot

I think in general, they were going to just parody all 2D animated movies, and not just Disney animated movies (especially the ones from the Renaissance era), but every other animation studio that's just trying to ape the success of the Disney Renaissance, such as (like you've mentioned) Don Bluth, WB, Universal, DreamWorks (pre-Shrek), and even Fox themselves

>"In August 1998, Jeff Smith signed a deal with Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies to produce an animated adaptation of Bone."
>"The story would've followed the Bone Cousins ending up in the valley, where they would meet Thorn and Grand'ma Ben. Smith pitched the story to be very simple, but with an open ending that could potentially lead to more sequels for the future."
>However, Nickelodeon wanted to change the ending and make the film more kid-friendly. Most notably, they wanted the Bones to be played by children, and for Fone Bone to have "Magic Gloves". They also wanted to shift more focus on the character Thorn, and even debated focusing the movie on her instead.[4] There were also talks of pop songs by NSYNC and Britney Spears to be featured in the films soundtrack, which was quickly turned down by Smith.[4] The executive meddling caused Smith to walk out of the film, resulting in production being cancelled in August of 2000"

He then set the production to Warner Bros. in 2008, but never came to fruition. He pitched it to Netflix in 2017, but again it never came to fruition. So no, we'll never get an animated Bone movie adaptation. Never ever. Why do we even live?

As long as braindead execs exist, Bone will unadaptable. Same with Calvin and Hobbes

The infamous failed pilot cartoon adaptations of Saint Seiya and Sailor Moon

>>150693460
>Calvin and Hobbes
that also hurts. There was gonna be animated TV special, show, and even movie, all were gonna be produced by Spielberg, plus a bunch of prototypes for potential merch. I heard that Charlie Adler was gonna voice as Hobbes and Tress McNeille was to voice as Susie, Calvin's mom and Ms. Wormwood, but it was difficult to find Calvin's VA. Sad we'll never see an actual adaptation of C&H in any way

You have no idea. There are so many projects that never get made. The ones we know about are merely the tip of the iceberg. Most remain unknown due to NDA shit or never getting far from just a few spoken words in a board meeting.

Calvin and Hobbes can never be adapted because the idea of giving Calvin an actual voice is already a bridge too far.
>>
>>150694221
I think Mr. Bluesky is more overrated
>>
>>150693609
A 90s Spielberg cartoon was the best possible shot for a C&H. Now there's just not enough talent or hand drawn studios that could do it justice.
