Most people nowadays could not give less of a fuck about the gameplay portion, you know, the entire visual element. You never see anyone commenting down below about decisions made in the game, and the commentary itself could be swapped out with nearly anything else and come across the same. Chris didn't used to do this. If you go back and watch anything from Dark Souls up until the midpoint of the Ding Dong & Julian era, he clearly had an intention to make the game the focus before other things. In fact, when Zach left and he was stuck with just Lyle & Tomar, a similar thing happened. But once Cory came in all pretense of being a proper Let's Play channel dropped and they started to treat it like a radio show. And I'm not about to say there are rules that need to be followed for playing videogames on the Internet, but I like to think it kind of defeats the purpose to upload Let's Plays when you barely care about the game on the fucking screen. It extends to other channels, honestly, a good example is Northernlion where he'll go out of his way to play games that aren't fun to watch simply so he can have better banter with his chat. Above all else though, even if you don't care about the gameplay, this stuff sucks because it means the channel is less likely to finish anything.
