>I wish DC'd let me write a 6-issue miniseries about Killer Moth. I think I've got some good ideas for a revamped origin story and initial confrontation with Batman.

Well, go on then. Share your idea. How would you revamp Killer Moth?

Have Killer Moth die and have his identity be passed around to random crooks, eventually Killer Moth gangs infest Gotham and the police can't keep up with the bastards because they all fly and carry guns that shoot cocoon sticky fluids at them

While normally I'd agree with you, KM's history is kind of a mess due to reboots. Pre-Crisis and post-Crisis are two different people, or at least have two different and incompatible backstories, was turned into a giant monster, killed off, replaced by a succession of nameless copycats that were also killed off, showed up out of costume with a completely different civilian identity and then killed off, rebooted into a GA villain in Nu52, and then showed up again as his pre-IC self with no explanation of how he alive or a human being again.

Or it might just be the old BatMoth threads managed to create a pretty good fanon version of KM by building off what already existed and jettisoning/repurposing some of the less workable parts and there is no way I'm going to listen to some rando on the internet scream badwrongfun when crackship threads managed to handle the character better than DC has.

All I know is that I'd introduce TT Killer Moth as his brother, and he would go by the name of Charaxes.
I know it's kind of an unpopular opinion in these threads, since most seem to prefer just making Drury a dad, but I consider comics KM and TT KM way too different to just make the former like the latter, so I'd just introduce the one from the show as a separate, but still related, character to Drury, and then he could be a loser uncle.
Also, I don't think Drury would be able to score with anyone lol

Return him to his roots. Wasn't the original concept for Killer Moth basically Batman but for the bad guys? He goes around saving crooks and villains from cops and heroes. That makes him tons more unique than just Gotham villain #718 who just happens to have a moth theme for his costume.

I wouldn't too much, he's be the most C-list villain imaginable. Capable and competent to pull of jobs UNTIL there's a cape or a better villain to stop him. He's got a decent sized fortune as being an anti-batman.

Pic somewhat related, but make his colors colorful.

>It's all about the mindset. When you make it personal you get stupid and do shit like wear a suit of radioactive space rocks and hit Metropolis to play king of the mountain. The Bat make me money. I go out of my way to kill him, might as well just head on down to the SNAP office. Other than broke what does that get me? Nightwing coming for my ass, two Robins coming for my ass, three Batgirls, Catwoman if they're on again, probably Red Hood, maybe Huntress, and the power ranger he's got running the day shift. And that's assuming none of his Justice League pals show up.
>Boss, you've gone out of your way to try and kill Batman a buncha times.
>I'm not going out of my way to not kill him. You roll the dice every night. But I'm not too proud to admit that sometimes I have let my anger get the better of me and I just get too wrapped up in the moment. But that's life, you know?

I make him Lady Killer Moth. He gives up being a villain and becomes a player with several super powered girl friends. He lives off all of them.
Things are going great, but then the girls all find out about one another. Some of them try to kill off the competition; others try to kill him; a few do both an there are at least two that are into it.
The city descends into chaos as KM’s love life implodes.

I like the idea that he pieced it together through observation and deduction but no one believes him and he's got gaps where he has no information that he can work with. He's meant to be an "Anti-Batman" so lean into that.
>He starts out as a family man that was huge Batfag
>Has a daughter that is also a big Batman/Robin fan
>One day while driving him and daughter get harrassed by corrupt cops
>In the middle of it all some criminals end up pulling a heist by coincidence causing a shoot out between cops and robbers
>Through the chaos daughter indirectly gets shot/killed by cops
>This breaks him. Get's depressed for a year, divorces his wife, etc.
>About to end it all but one day see's the Bat Signal in the sky and get's a new idea/purpose
>Goes full nihilism and new philosophy about the line between good and evil, law and crime isn't real or the very least bare thin
>Becomes a merc that helps out criminals with the justification/logic being that he can "make crimes go more smoothly and reduce/prevent causilties" thus being a "win for everyone"
>Despite this being used as justification is very vindictive/blood thristy and is onboard with revenge/murder if the criminal/super villain has a sad enough sob story and perpetrator is an asshole i.e. Rupert Thorne, Ferris Boyle, etc.
>Is moreso used as someone that shows up to help other villains rather than have his own grand plan
>Not a very good fighter but is crafty and amicable personality makes him have many allies with B-listers and less psychotic villains
My version of what an "evovled" Killer Moth would be is someone sorta akin to Dr. Killinger from Venture Bros. A villain whose job is to support other villains and even encourage them to continue down what is clearly their worst path but in such a friendly way he fools both others and himself his bad advice is "logical".

>>150631296
Seeing how much crime happens in Gotham, they are absolutely pulling off the craziest heists in the background while the Batfamily is busier with bigger criminals and villains.

IDK about Killer Moth but I have a 100% clear cut concept for how to make the Eraser work perfectly in Batman's rogues gallery.
>Leonard Fiasco, by day, is the Gotham underworld's choice lawyer for criminal defense cases.
>To most he looks like some gaudy schmuck in a yellow suit with a pencil stache, but he's extremely effective at what he does, turning what would normally be death penalty cases into insanity pleas and even acquittals 90% of the time, through mostly underhanded means. He makes a ridiculous amount of cash from guys like the Penguin, the Riddler, and the Joker calling him in, enough to have his own law firm.
>His alter ego, meanwhile, is the Eraser, Gotham's best cleaner. For an extra amount of cash, he comes to the crime scenes of his clients and wipes away any incriminating evidence. Bloodstains get cleaned, drugs get removed from the scene of the crime, and dead bodies get dumped in acid.
>He's really good about keeping his hands clean too, never committing crimes himself and always making sure he has an out.
>He has almost no actual fighting skill though, one hit and he's down.
>Two-Face also despises him, considering that he was the biggest pain up his ass when he uses to be Gotham's district attorney.
Effectively, he's what would happen if Daredevil and Saul Goodman fused together.
>>
>>150631472
Him being a lawyer/Saul Goodman expy is a pretty clever way to make him more relavent in stories and combine his secret identity with his role as a cleaner. Good one anon.

One day his mother couldn't pay and the criminal beat her, so he killed the debt collector with a fire poker. He got taken away from his family and put into juvenile prison at 12. When he returned, he found that his sister had starved to death and his mother had killed herself. He had absolutely nothing left so it broke him and he emerged years later dressed as an old tax collector, collecting "debts" for the criminals who he works for, but the debts he collects are the lives of his victims.

Instead of the usual bullshit where someone kills a less popular villain to establish them as a threat, it's the lesser renown villains of Gotham teaming up to take on a group of murderous vigilantes with the Bats caught in the crossfire.

Well now I'm just imagining Killer Moth as some evil Kamen Rider. Like maybe rather than training like Batman he used his money to cybernetically enhance his body.

Prisoner 235026, maybe 19 years old and already in Blackgate for a 5-year stretch. He's not Drury Walker, not yet, and he's certainly not Cameron van Cleer; both of those come later.

At that point, looking out the window of his cell, he's just some kid staring at the Gotham skyline and thinking about his future. "What am I going to do with my life?" he wonders... and then, in the distance, the Bat-Signal lights up the sky. The kid spends the next five years studying from the other crooks in the pen, mastering all of their skills in a truncated mimicry of Batman's developmental journey, so that he can emerge from prison as Killer Moth.

I'd write him having a similar role to Taskmaster or Shocker in Marvel. He's a professional supervillain with an emphasis on PROFESSIONAL. This is his job. He's not in the capes and tights business because of some tragic backstory or supervillain origin story, he's in it because it's a payday better than anything else available and he's good at it.
Killer Moth has been doing this a long time (his first appearance was fucking 1951 for god's sake), he's lasted as long as he has by carving out a niche for himself. He's part of the superhero ecosystem, he doesn't rock the boat, he's not stupid enough to try and unmask Batman or hurt his family, he doesn't open fire into crowds of civilians, he shows up at Gotham Central Bank with a giant sack with $$$ written on it and asks the bank staff to start opening safety deposit boxes and putting as much cash and jewels in as will fit. He's nobody's nemesis and works to keep it that way. When the heroes are told "There's a meteor heading towards Star City, Mongul's come demanding Superman's head, and there's a string of robberies in Gotham, including Killer Moth doing a diamond heist!" he doesn't want anyone jumping up out of their seat going "THAT BASTARD KILLER MOTH, I'LL MAKE HIM PAY!"

His costume is colorful and flashy and he shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed about it, you don't need some edgy reinvention of it, he dresses like a Supervillain on purpose to signal his profession; regular civilians and cops love any excuse to give up and let something be someone else's problem. The cape and tights are an industry uniform.

>regular civilians and cops love any excuse to give up and let something be someone else's problem
And the ones that try to be a hero get cocooned. He ain't getting a murder charge added because somebody wanted to look tough on tiktok. Try looking tough pawing your way out of a bundle of sticky artificial silk.

How would you incorporate them?
>>
>>150610690
To me the ideal Killer Moth book would feel like a mix of the Venture Brothers, Superior Foes of Spider-Man, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Breaking Bad.
Just going deep into the logistics of how supervillainy operates in the DC Universe while Killer Moth and his dipshit friends like Firefly, Ratcatcher, and Cavalier try to make it big in the scene.
>>
>>150610690
Such a cool character with 0 good stories
>>
>>150647098
My personal thought is leg straps for drop leg holsters where he keeps heavy items like his cocoon gun on his utility belt and kneepads. I'd like a KM who has less of a bespoke costume look and more "I stayed up all night dying military surplus webbing neon green."

As a design feature though, a smaller number of wide stripes looks better than a larger number of thin stripes.

Batgirl Year One. Joker: The Man Who Stopped Laughing. And various Batgirl stories that may hit or miss.

Let's be honest. He is absolutely the type to blow money on custom gear whenever he's riding high off of a successful heist, but he's not above re-equipping at Wal-Mart when he's low on funds.

I have an idea for a condiment king rework who's a cook at arkham who specializes in cooking the crazy shit all the prisoners have to eat, and one day joker asks him to cook a giant pressurized can of surstromming for killer croc, he does, but joker and a couple of other baddies use that pressurized surstromming as a bomb, blow up the cafeteria and escape. They take the chef with them, because they like his cooking, and he ends up being traded around between gotham villains, each wanting him in their entourages so he can make them food, and in captivity in each of their gangs, he learns new skills and gets new stuff (joker gives him chemicals to cook with, poison ivy gives him weird plants, etc etc) that eventually culminates in him becoming condiment king

Already canon for one version at least. His Birds of Prey appearance showed that Condiment King when done right should be a master of kitchen chemical warfare.

It might be too dark overall. I can try brightening the colors, and adding back the logo.

Also, cape or wings? Wings are great for a quick getaway, but should they be a regular feature?

>>150650420
He used to carry a gun and shoot at cops, but I don't know if he ever killed anyone. I think that stopped once he got his cocoon-gun and went with a more nonlethal approach.

I would like it if killer mouth got his name from how much if a pussy hound he is.
His hired goons and fellow costumef crooks jokingly called him lady killer moth.

But after some shenanigans where they thought he actually killed ladies rather then kill pussy BKD, he decided hevneeded to chsnge his image.
So i seduced and fucked a reporter so she woukd report him as killer moth and create pr for him.
And he later gave her a few stories and even kidnapped her once as a way to prove they arent connected to help build her career.

He knows the game. Plays well and has a few stand ins he's hired and trained to pretend to be killer moth to throw them off the trail and be the next killer moth ufvsnthing happens. TT killer moth was on if those men. But he was a mad scientist type and got ideas from langstrom.
Can have him call the "rogues" a bunch of egotistical primmadonnas and dumb asses for fucking up the villainy game in keystone city.
He loves toying with batgirl and will be her catwoman equivalent. Subtly dropping clues here and there and becoming remarkably competent in his dealings with her.

For a while they were treating him like some sort of Killer Croc-style mutant.

For me, I think Killer Moth should absolutely take tech or gear in exchange for his services, at least in part. A freeze ray or some fear toxin in exchange for a lower percentage of the take; things like that.
>>
>>150651232
Wings but they need to be bigger than how they're usually portrayed. Moth wings are blocky and large, I don't know why artists insist on giving him these thin, barely there wings.
>>
>>150654314
>You have three canisters of fear toxin in your possession, Killer Moth, hand them over immediately or you'll regret it.
>Sorry, Bats, traded them to Mr. Freeze for a freeze gun and a high-powered, rapid cooling unit. And before you ask, I traded the freeze gun to a guy on Facebook Marketplace for a boat motor.
>>
>>150654737
Yeah, they give him wasp wings for some reason.
>>
>>150655797
Less complicated to draw, easier for lazy artists.
>>
>>150655969
Moths have wings that could be simplified down to two irregular triangles.
>>
Spandex, armor, or tacticool?
>>
>>150657373
More textured and looking like actual fabric than spandex with a bit of an armored look, but not so far as it being obvious body armor. His appearance in Batgirls struck a nice balance in my opinion.
>>
>>150657373
Tacticool. Like Bale's Batman.
>>
>>150657373
Highly advanced but strategically made to look like a cheap jumpsuit.
>>
>>150658025
>Check it, underlayer is a next-gen, sweat-wicking, smart compression, thermoregulating, full body piece. Over that is a full coverage soft armor suit rated against knives, ice picks, and pistol rounds, then my hard armor which is a custom composite of ceramics and flex panels capable of stopping rifle rounds at 20 yards with integrated circuitry that can not only tell me where I've been hit but the parts of the armor likely to be compromised. And to top it off, a breathable, stretchable outer layer that doubles up on my blade protection while also being fireproof. My clothes alone cost as much as a small car, and we haven't even gotten to the accessories and weapons.
>You look like Halloween store clown, Daddy.
>It's called strategic deception, Kitten.
>It's called looking like you're embarrassing me!

Modified the logo a bit. I wish the program gave me a greater variety of wings; I can't find anything that looks the way I want, either as a wing-y cape or as his flight-pack. Hopefully this still gets the idea across.

I don't think the death's head moth motif works. It comes off as the laziest thing in the world to add to him.
>>
>>150659754
I think it works. Though Batgirls had put it on his flight pack.
>>
>>150659754
You know, that's a fair critique. Killer Moth having a skull and a moth on his chest is a little on the nose.

>>150659812
But having it somewhere else might work, as is the case here.

I'll remove the skull from the next iteration.
>>
>>150659812
I'm talking more about a meta perspective. It's kinda like the trend from 20 years ago of replacing huge swaths of color with black in costume redesigns.
