I wish the trolls were only a part of the story as what I initially thought they were - amusingly complicated characters that breezed through Sburb only to get TPK'd by Jack as a joke. Then the kids could utilize what they left behind while they complete their own quests.The trolls caught on hard because people, in general, are narcissists who want to see themselves in everything. It’s been almost 15 years since I started reading, my life and tastes have changed so much in that time, I got my master’s, moved across the country, I’ve immersed myself in world cinema and classic lit, yet every couple years some switch gets flipped in my brain and I become re-obsessed with this gay comic I read as a teenager. I started rereading hs2 after like 5 years and I totally forgot it picks right up from the epilogues, which I no longer remember anything about. I know I left off somewhere around Yiffy's introduction but I'm still going through these early pages and Dirk is so insufferable.
