back in the day it was nothing but Usenet nerds ranting that they should have kept remaking Season 2 forever but but you couldn't do Lisa's Substitute in fucking 1999, that was during the era of late 90s Dot Com bubble dude Xtreme Tom Green American Pie grossout humor. the most you could accuse Mike Scully of was going where the culture was at that point in time and those episodes are really a time capsule of that 98 to 01 era.
>>150620561Considering that people complained about it even at the time, even normal people, and the show's ratings saw an almost immediate drop during this era both critically and in terms of viewership, I think it's safe to say that just blindly following the culture of the time wasn't necessarily the best move.
>>150620561I don't think anyone's done that. They may not be as lame as what Al Jean did but that still doesn't make them good.
>>150620561I think kill the aligator and run suffers at the start but gets better as the episode progresses.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BkT7gBlwcE
>>150620561His era was good because it has the most Marge fanservice out of any era
>>150620942I don't remember much of any Marge fanservice in those episodes.
>>150620561I enjoy the Scully era for nostalgic reasons and I do think it can still be quite funny, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the golden era before it.
>>150620572If youre following youre not leading.
>>150620561Nah.
