Most of you know about George Miller’s unproduced Justice League movie starring the likes of Armie “the cannibal” Hammer and Seth Cohen from The O.C. But how many of you knew that before Miller pushed for a cast of young unknowns, Warner was actually aiming for an all-star cast including Brandon Routh as Superman, Christian Bale as Batman, Jessica Biel as Wonder Woman, Ryan Reynolds as the Flash, Jamie Foxx as Green Lantern, Gerard Butler as Aquaman and Laurence Fishburne as Martian Manhunter? They were also eyeing Anton Yelchin for Wally West, Leonardo DiCaprio for Maxwell Lord and Scarlett Johansson for Talia Al Ghul, with Kevin Spacey and Michael Caine reprising Lex Luthor and Alfred, respectively.

What's your source, OP? I wouldn't have minded seeing this, though I wish Miller's version had seen production. I could have sworn they had a reference to Gotham in Superman Returns, so I was kind of expecting Routh and Bale to crossover at some point

There's always been easter egg type references even in the Smallville and other earlier TV days. I never wasted time other than to try to watch a tiny bit of a few random episodes of Gotham so I am sure there are some things where it might have been a very minor easter egg, but Arrow and Flash both had mentions to DC things that never became things in the DCW, and likewise Smallville did as well, and so did New Adventures of Lois and Clark, etc.

Some of this is accurate. Ryan Reynolds wanted to play a comedic Wally West as the Flash, not Barry. When that fell through, his agent and the WB suits shoved the GL movie in his path.
