I'm going to continue storytiming my fantasy webcomic series Oi! Tales of Bardic Fury. It's set in 360 AD Ireland and follows the story of a bard-in-training who gets sent to a tiny village by the sea called Oi that never heard music before. >Arianrhod grew up in a greco-hindu-buddhist cult that worship spiders and Alexander the Great as their gods. She's my favorite character besides Dana, which is probably why I made this segment so long and gave her so much dialogue for such a minor character in the story.

End of volume 3 was a natural satisfying ending to the oi story, so i did an OVA beach episode and a few shorts but didn't draw anymoreafter that. I still want to do a short epilogue chapter to wrap it all up, but it's hard to find the time.

Next con I go to I'm going to plan and clean up the table display and make it cleaner with better branding, and less disorganized looking. Why keep putting myself through that?And it's not the medium, there's stuff like Unsounded, Kill Six Billion Demons, Gunnerkrigg Court, and Cassiopeia Quinn that chug along and keep up a fairly steady level of quality, nevermind the mountains of manga and manhwa. We've just made it more okay for artists to tell themselves "well it's hard to keep going if you're not feeling awesome about the project, may as well pull the plug." No dudes, not okay, get your story to a reasonable stopping point, you're not just hurting yourself you're hurting your peers, because people ARE going to learn the lesson that ESL comics are the only safe option if you don't want to be left hanging.

If I continue, it will be with short episodic comics I can't get in to long epic arcs again with it. I'm pretty inspired by anonhistory and atleast want to make dana pinups and short comics like they do with their pictish witch character, that doesn't require context and deepest lore knowledge to understand what's going on.

My solution is wound up with was to make him an Anakin/Tamaki from ouren host club hybrid with serious main character syndrome and energy and make him be like a shonen lead so I'd enjoy drawing the story. My inspiration for the story is reverse gender Urusei Yatsura and I envisioned the next parts as episodic focusing on character interaction and comedy and the chemistry between Penny and Zag. I like the idea of doing a story less serious and dark than what Oi became. In short I think the characters and concept for cosmic crush are strong but my current ability and execution doesn't match the ambition I have for the story. This lead to me wanting to do one shots, so I can practice getting better. I liked the way the art looked a lot, and personally thought it was a big step up from Oi (though I thought the later parts of Oi looks pretty good anyway.) I definitely thought the concept was pretty fun.
