"This is not Wisconsin" edition

Series created by Owen Dennis and aired on the Cartoon Network in some regions formerly. Sadly it was removed from HBO Max in August 2022

"Fuck this is horrifying dude. We did have a season where I wanted to touch on Alzheimers, the final season actually. It was going to be loosely inspired by an autobiography that my grandfather wrote while he was slowly succumbing to it." – oweeeeendennis---------The creator of Infinity Train on Retarddit

Dropped it at season 1.

Learning that they wanted it to be twice as long made me realize the plot suffered badly from being cut back. An entire plot thread about Tulip trying to fake being happy before her parents divorce was cut out.

Thats a shame, season 2 was better.

the whole show's good, even if 4 is kinda weak
but if we'd gotten 5, to tie up the plot thread from 1 through 3, 4 would have been forgiven as a fun interlude.

Book 2 easily took the cake for me, felt like a nice transitional phase between Dennis and co feeling things out/skirting past network s&p in 1 and the more purposefully edgy shit they tried to do in the later two.
Also Lake a QT and Alan Dracula was charming

what edgy shit did they do in s4?

Meant edgy in a more general sense, it's not all about brutal death scenes. Just the whole tone felt off, more like a Cartoon Hangover show than something tied to CN proper. Then again maybe I'm just salty we got whole lot of gay asian shenanigans instead of more Amelia. Kez was kind of hot though

but we didn't get gay shenanigans, that's what's so great. I was sure in 2021 they'd totally go there. but no, it was two bros who became distant after one abandoned their shared dream.
There was nothing edgy, it was just very chill, and brought us back to the root of the show being about people learning about themselves and fixing their shit.

Season 4 was dog water, and only existed to try to use the power of autistic fujoshis to jumpstart interest in the series.

I think it’s telling that they screwed up the premise so much that all fan content is based on characters from the show instead of OCs going on their own adventure.

Monster made out of dismembered arms and hands?

I think the main problem is that being on the train explicitly means you have a problem, with things like spidersonas for example, most people play at being the hero against the worldworld, at most maybe they're a violent antihero, but never the villain or the wrong one.
On the infinity train is worse because it wouldn't even be like an isekai, and you'd have powers and shit, it's literally AI generated stories that are expected to make you reflect on yourself, a infinitytrainsona(?) has to say why they think they should basically be in therapy, of the few attempts I've seen, they've focused more on flaws they believe they have, or the wacky denizens, rather than a self-inflicted conflict.

S2 was the best but it helped S1 did the heavy lifting on how the train works.

the only thing that could be useful from season 1 would be the episode where Mirror Tulip appears, it is so unconnected to the rest of the season so it does not cause a problem but it introduces interesting elements like the flecs, in fact I like to see S1E8 as a prologue to the entire season 2, they even verbally explain how the train works in S2

In fact, season 4 is The season is also about a couple who have to understand how the train works and get out but, for being childhood friends, Jesse and Lake actually have more chemistry than Ryan and Min, which shows what's so good about book 2.
this is my opinion ofc
