X Years Later...

Comics in this thread:
>X-Men: Age of Revelation Overture
>Deadpool/Wolverine #10
>Astonishing X-Men #25-26, #28-31
>>
Bump if you're reading.
>>
>>
oof
>>
Wait, Glob pulled the trigger?
>>
>>
And I here I was saying last week that we would have to wait a while regarding the last page of X-Men #21 >150521249. Turns out we didn't have to! That's a relief.
>>
So AoR Magneto was always Erik? Why do they keep drawing his face covered by shadows then?
>>
I'm so behind I'm just now starting X-Manhunt. So annoyed about this event, I miss good X Books
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>Bei is the leak
Why would she do this?
>>
>>
>Hank was also brought from the present to the future
Okay, that makes it two characters that will be heavily affected by this event.
>"You and Scott had both been punished by Revelation. He [...] made you into Babels.
Could Forge not create something to undo that then instead of essentially making Scott and Hank overwrite themselves with an earlier save file of their minds from ten years ago?
>>

"Fuck them kids" - Glob Herman, 2035
>>
>Quentin is using kids to spy for him
Also, I really dislike that pink beard.
>>
Cypher is still such a weird choice to be the big villain of an event. What's next? Age of Cannonball? Age of Wolfsbane?
>>
>>
>Apocalypse is getting involved
Expected that to happen.
>>
>>
At least Mackay seems to be having fun with this. I assume most of the other books will suck.
>>
>>150633874
>Millions dead?
>Yeah but mutants have it pretty good
Scott falls farther and farther every day
>>
Really dislike that faceplate that Logan is forced to wear.

Anyways, get ready for a lot of deaths.

Of course Logan survives, because he's already confirmed to be appearing in other AoR comics. And you know, because he's Logan.
>>
I really wonder what Doug is doing that would cause Bei to have to call Blue Dad himself to kick his ass. Hopefully, we don't have to wait that long for answers.

New month, new editorial pages.
>Laura is a mother
WHAT
>>
We also got a map over the Revelation Territories. Sadly not as cool as the map to Arakko was when that was revealed.
>>
The story continues in Amazing X-Men!

And now for Deadpool/Wolverine.
>>
>>150633953
Marvel will never stop glazing Wolverine as some invincible super killer. He should've gotten at best 1 or 2 ambush kills before Schwrz yo-yo'd him with gravity.
>>
Despite the thread subject and the majority of the comics here for the time being now being set X years into the future, we're still going to feature the comics taking place before this event, starting with the last issue of this series. Which also happens to feature Apocalypse.

Apocalypse from Cable's future traveled back in time to the 90's after he was able to successfully take over Stryfe's body. He infected Logan and Wade with Legacy 2.0, a T-O virus that allowed him to control them and began his plan for ridding the world of all mankind and letting nature restore itself. But just as his preperations were coming to an end, he was stopped by SHIELD and placed in an adamantium container that wouldn't be opened until the present day by some idiots at O*N*E. Resuming where he left off, he began to take control of Wade and Logan again while also having to deal with a section of O*N*E led by Director Talyn, who not only was able to reverse engineer the Legacy 2.0 and use it for her own purposes, but also saw this as an opportunity to use this crisis to cause an enforcing of a mutant registration act. But it all comes down to this issue!
Will Apocalypse succeed? Will Talyn cause that act to be enforced? Will Legacy have more page time? Will Logan and Wade save everything? Everything will be answered!

>"Are you clocking the thematic parallelism?"
Yes, but I really don't care for it.

I agree with Logan, you should shut up Wade.
>>
>>
Stryfe is DEAD (again)
>>
So he went from possessing Stryfe to...possessing a pyramid.
Don't think it's an upgrade.
>>
Remember when Stryfe beat up Apocalypse so badly Pooky cried
>>
So Stryfe was the fourth X-Cutioner all along? I thought that he didn't count with him being just a body for Apocalypse to possess in the end.
>>
>>
>>
Oh well, get fucked Apocalypse (from Cable's future)
>>
>>
Hey, no smooching here.
>>
>>150633869
They should fuck
>>
And now for a final message by the creative team.

And now for Infinity Comics.
>>
Things are going to be busy for the coming weeks, so it's a good time to clear up more of the Infinity Comics backlog. Something tells me that we might be seeing this comic getting hit with a relaunch soon as Avengers Academy and the other Astonishing Infinity Comics have been canceled (and in Astonishing Spider-Man's case, was replaced with Astonishing Miles Morales: Spider-Man which is a direct companion series to Ziglar's run and written by him as well).
This time we're focusing on Husk and Skin as they search for a mutant on an island whose people carry a dark secret. This is "The Cuckoo Song" by Alex Paknadel and Phillip Sevy.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Issue #27 was a one-shot prelude to the Hellfire Vigil set before this arc and we covered that last time.

turning people into Babals is a very Snow Crash thing to do, Guess it continues the 90s feel Mackay and Breevort wanted from this event

>>

>>
>>150634156
Any parallels to current events I assume are wholly by accident since Brevoort's made it very clear that his primary goal with the X-Office is to coast on 90s X-Stalgia...
>>
>>150634621
Gotta wonder what the point of his little speech was. One last hypocrisy for the road?
>>
>>150633970
>A contested fertile cresent between a river and large body of water informed by genocide

Is the X-Office aware of the third rail they're about to be passing on?
>>
>>150633865
I still can't believe anyone at the X-Office thinks Blackface Doug looks like a credible threat
>>
>>150634621
McKay wants Scott to be in a specific position ideologically for this event since he'll be the focus of it with Beast so he's ignoring any previous position Scott may have had even one he pretty much wrote in his own book, cuz Cyclops certainly wouldn't be fine with millions of humans death just for mutant liberation, at no point in any past event was he that kind of zealot not even in Krakoa.

You can't since Duggan and Hickman explicitly defended the storyline, which led to the first half of it being one of the very fucking few Krakoa era digital stories to get a physical release and that it was pretty explicit proof that Krakoa was pure evil and couldn't be swept under the woods
>>
>>150634621
Erik here is finally taking OG Chuck's words to his heart, and chuck hated what krakoa and the mutants became, the very thing they despised.

X-Men writers only know how to write one story nowadays and it's always the same dystopic future timeline bullshit that gets undone where everyone's evil, edgy, or dead.
Even nu-Ultimate couldn't resist having that considering that Ultimate Wolverine exists.

God this was shit same with the first of these arcs. Why the fuck is there a goddamn symbiote. Why can't they write anything actually interesting instead of just
>Mutants good
>Humans bad and stupid
Look what I came up with in ten minutes
>Husk gets a call from her friend to investigate a murder in a remote Scottish village where humans and mutants live together post Krakoa
>A mutant was torn to shreds and tensions are running HOT
>Mutants are blaming humans for the murder despite the sheer lack of evidence that a human can rip someone to pieces
>Husk is paired up with an old jaded ass cop, both are knee deep in their own bigotry to actually notice what's happening
>Another person is torn to bits, this time a human
>Humans think it's a retaliation attack and now we're on the cusp of a localized race war
>Husk and the Detective get their heads out of their asses and realize the perp isn't a human or mutant
>Shenanigans insure and they find out it a left over symbiote from Venom War/King in Black
>It's been regenerating and finally got strong enough to finally attack and eat people's brains
>They're now trying to hunt this monster down while the town devolves into a full on race war
>Kill the thing in front of the mob before shit gets too bad
>Husk saves the day but now everyone has to pick up the pieces and start healing

aaaand Warren's dead. I guess a few pages of him being on an X-Men team is better than a few issues of him being a sell-out social media whore in X-Factor. Still, I miss the days when he was an actual character who took part in actual stories.

I'm with you. The whole design is atrocious, almost on par with Doug's new look. Seriously, is there some kind of anti-twink agenda at play here?? But more generally speaking, my biggest rule of thumb for redesigns is this: If I couldn't recognize the character if it was drawn in black and white, it's shit.
>>
