It was pretty good. Hated seeing GA go out, but it was pretty obvious in hindsight. Can't wait to see more from Absolute Hawkman. And Joker's monologue where he justifies the Justice League name was good too.

Speaking of Joker perverting things, I want him and Cale to get together.

Reception seemed positive overall. I liked it too. Seeing how different heroes got quietly erased was a trip and I laughed at the "we'll call ourselves... THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!" reveal.

Having Joker, of all people, do a big science and learn that there's an Evil God Particle that governs the universe and therefore doing evil is good felt like a really, really painfully elaborate way to arrive at the Justice League namedrop. The whole point is that justice can't win in this universe, not that evil is justice and thus the bad guys are the good guys and thus they need to occupy the same place, title, and role as the Justice League in normal comics.

The heroes will have their advantages stripped and will have to rise up from worse circumstances in a world where the odds are stacked against them to succeed, it's not necessarily that "justice" can't prevail, Dongseid just thinks heroes should always be underdogs pretty much
Also justice = order according to Absolute Joker, and in this universe order is aligned with maintaining the fucked up status quo

It'd be dumb (not that these comics seem to have issues being dumb, it's Absolute Batman's entire selling point seemingly) but I'm hoping Ollie becomes Gentleman Ghost somehow. He's a Hawkman villain who in previous stories is a dude Hawkman killed who comes back as a ghost to seethe at him basically.

My only gripe is how they kept repeating that "this man does not laugh/joke" to the point of being straight up way too campy. Other than that, it was pretty solid.
Also, I'm interested in the theory of Luthor being a Hank Scorpio kind of villain.

Heroes facing adversity and people around them being hurt is nothing new. They’re still consistently overcoming their difficulties. It’d be one thing if they were depicted to achieve pyrrhic victories but they aren’t even that.

Interesting/cool that they seemed to be pushing Absolute Wonder Woman as *the* premier hero of this world, but frankly I don't want AWW or AMM to have any involvement whatsoever with the rest of the line, because the rest of the line is crap. Won't be getting my wish, though.

Also this comic really drove home that Absolute and Ultimate are the same thing.
