Chapter 100: Page 33Just a matter of time.https://www.gunnerkrigg.com/
>>150662350IF JACK PUNCHES KAT TO DEATH I'D BE SOOOOO HAPPY!!
>>150662350I fucking hate GKC fridays
>>150662368Why? They make good pancakes!
>>150662350I wonder why they chose now to assassinate Kat. Seems like they can find and get to her whenever. It'd probably be better to wait until she's asleep and beat her to death with bars of soap in socks. That'd also avoid having Annie actively looking for her until much later.
>>150662350Kat's fault for pretending she knows thing then suddenly "haven't begun" when people talk about it.
Will Kat's speech bubble become white like the others when they exorcise the forbidden knowledge demon from inside her soul?
>>150662384Omega whispering to Jack a few chapters ago was probably the trigger to seal the deal with Kat
>>150662384It's weird, because it seemed Zara was questioning Kat to confirm things, before they went ahead with her lynching, but now Jack's all "I knew already". >>150662462It's certainly made him relapse into a nut case again. Where has Jenny been during all this?
>>150662488>Where has Jenny been during all this?Furiously masturbating at the trought of having Jack all to herself soon
>>150662427like you've never made shit up to impress a cute girl
>>150662499>Furiously masturbating at the thought of the other witches having Jack all to themselves soonftfy
>>1506623501) Why is Zara still posing sexily? The jig is up, girl. 2) Jack, you're an idiot. Self-fulfilling prophecy, mate. Knock it off before you cause the apocalypse you want to prevent. 3) No seriously, why is Zara still posing sexily? Is she hoping this goes peacefully so she maybe has a real shot at Angel pussy?
>>150662350Guys, Kat has to die, she...she...She knows why kids love cinnamon toast crunch.I'm so fucking bored with this
>jacks a warlock nowok sure. why not
>>150663067Clearly, she is aroused, because of, not despite their plan to kill kat.
>>150662350
>>150663067She's not posing that's just how she is.
>>150663075the comic has been building up to this plot point for literal years, you should be able to put up with it
>>150663139>she's just like thatNot an unreasonable assertion. She's doing that in her first appearance after all.
>>150663149NoI'm sorry but this fucking sucksWe have two characters whose capabilities and durability are vague at best in a contrived encounter fueled by information the audience isn't privy to. There is no tension. There are no stakes. The conflict is completely opaque and, if Tom decides to keep Kat's powers consistent, totally pointless.
>>150663175>"There's no stakes because the characters haven't done a huge shonen style exposition dumb explaining how their powers work."... You're saying stupid shit for attention. There is no other explanation for why you have spent actual years shitposting about this comic you don't like. So here it is, your precious attention. Satisfied? Now fuck off.
>>150663210>REEEEE I HATE ANIMEThat's nice, dear.Typically you want your audience to know what's happening and why if you want them to feel tension and/or investment, Tom.
>>150663175Kat is likely already physically dead (or just separated like Omega) and only has this form due to the distortion, and we know pretty much everything about these events, this sequence almost certainly leads directly to Kat's assumption of godhood that Zimmy saw, it's important and you're a bitch
>>150663242>This event is important Cool, that has nothing to do with the many problems in the way the scene is being conveyed. An event can be important and directed/written poorly.
>>150663175god you really sound like a drooling retard today.
Go back to bed TomYou throw this tanty every time someone yawns
>>150662384>>150662462Honestly the only thing that would be logically satisfying is if Omega DID set everything up to nuke Kat. Her superomniscience shouldn't have been so retardedly weak. It would be great if Omega literally predicted/set up everything that would happen.
>>150663242>Kat is likely already physically deadAh, okay, so we're making shit up now? How in the hell did you come to that conclusion?
>>150663282I assume they're just going off the whole "exploded the back of her neck" thing which should have been fatal but wasn't because ???????It just goes to show how poorly kat's (and everyone's) abilities are defined.I wouldn't expect anything happening to her physical body to matter but this is a comic where the rules are made up and the points don't matter. There was never any reason to hide Zimmy's "secret" from the audience and I suspect we still don't know what it is because Tom can't figure out something that would justify Jack's behavior.
>>150663263Uhhhh... She did? That's been kinda the whole point of her existence.Up to the point where her superomniscience stopped working. Which was a while ago.
>>150663310Bruh, he already wrote this stuff like almost 20 years ago.
>>150663441sure he did, chief
>>150663438Congratulations on missing the fucking point entirely.
There are legit criticisms to be made against gunnerkrigg court but the stupidest man alive who can't even follow a story as simple as this one is, making them makes it real easy to dismiss them
>>150663067>>150663119>>150663139I cannot keep myself from Zara. Everything she does is sexy. She has this undeniable goth witch magnetism. She's a jungle cat. The girl exudes sex.
>>150663697Kat, you have more pressing matters than hornyposting about goth girls.
>>150662350Why the fuck is Jack fixated on Kat, when he thinks Omega already knows? Even if they kill Kat, how will that stop Omega from telling again? Why the fuck do the Witches whole heartedly believe Jack? Enough to try and kill a god?
>>150663822Jack>I can't tell you what omega said to me!>We need you to kill Kat. Trust me bro!
>>150663681>it's so simple!>meanwhile no one can cite any motivations>the ¿fanboys? are tying themselves in knots speculating>the speculations have bus sized plot holes, and need multiple characters holding idiot balls>they insult the questioners, and critics
>>150663210Nice dishonest bad faith misrepresentation. And how exactly are they going to explain this after without a "huge shonen style exposition" as you put it? They literaly say "To bad we have to kill her friend", as a completely unnatural exposition twist. How is it already not huge dumb and unexplained?
>>150663175This
>>150662350>What a fool you are. I'm a god. How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence. How could you be so naiive? There is no escape. No recall or intervention can work in this place. Come, lay down your weapons. It is not too late for my mercy.
>>150662350Why does Jack trust that Omega wasn't lying?Omniscience doesn't require honestly.>"but you will"He's even acknowledging that she doesn't know. Why not just destroy the Computer part of Omega? Also he knows and isn't trying to harm Zimmy, so it's possible Kat could know and not harm Zimmy.
>>150662350>after annie explains everything and nothing happens, zara apologizes to kat for trying to kill her and says she'd be willing to make it up to her>kat's face turns redI wish I had a sweating Kat holding a towel image.
>>150662350How do the Jack and the witches even think the aftermath will go down, even if they do kill her? How do they not immediately have the embodyment of fire, the fairies, a new species of literal robots, and her parents, one of which is a witch?(of some sort) and at least 2 court enforcers at minimum come down on thier heads? What are they going to say? A mental ill boy told us to?
>>150663210NTA but he's right. You can only have tension when you have an outcome that you expect, or fear, will happen. Stakes that the audience are not aware of are not stakes. To reference the classic Hitchcock quote about suspense, a bomb going off at random at the end of a scene and killing the people in the room is just jarring and confusing, the same scene of the two people having a banal conversation in the room while the audience KNOWS that the bomb is there, but the characters do not, is tense. In comic, we have no idea of the stakes because frankly we don't really have any understanding of what anyone wants, why they want it, what they are willing to do about it, or even what they CAN do. This could be the very first page of the comic and these could be the very first time we had seen any of these characters at all and we would have only slightly less information about what is happening as we do now. Instead of us knowing the stakes or having an informed expectation of what is happening, we are being forced into a situation where a bunch of stuff is about to happen and we will then have to sit through an explanation of what we witnessed after the fact. And thats lazy writing AND bad pacing, because it means nothing was properly set up ahead of time to make this run smoothly.
Come on, it's obvious that Tom is hiding the motives for killing Zimmy in order to generate suspense and mystery, but it will end up disappointing us once we get to know, like usual.
