Do you enjoy mowing your lawn, Anon?
>>
>>150677114
no, because i had to use one of these shitty things when i was a kid

No because I have a mild allergy to grass and it makes my nose run like fucking crazy when I mow the lawn from the microscopic grass particles going in the air. Literally the only thing I'm aware of that I'm allergic to and it has to be grass, something I love the smell of.
>>
>>150677114
Hank is definitely autistic
>>
>>150677114
I refuse to do the edging so I've been paying a guy to do the yard
>>
>>150677208
Man, I wish I could pay a guy to edge for me.
>>
>>150677114
I don't have a lawn
>>
You can always tell how bad a neighborhood is by how tall their grass is.
>>
>>150677114
Mowing the lawn is damn near the only piece of housework I actually enjoy doing. Getting a little early morning workout with that scent of freshly cut grass is my heroween.
>>
>>150677114
I have half an acre and I love mowing it. I have a hat I dip in ice water that reflects sunlight so it stays cool. It's so nice.
>>
>>150677348
This is the hat. Also, I'm a phoneposter.
>>
>>150677114
I never got to live in a nice area. Nothing but urban decay in the ghettos of Babel in Europe for me. But I imagine having a lawn must be nice. An open space that you get to enjoy and that is as clean and pretty as you make it. It reflects your efforts and it rewards them.
>>
>>150677114
No, I live in an apartment just so I don't have a lawn that I have to mow all the time as I actually value my time
>>
>>150677397
He said on 4chan.
>>
>>150677374
Nice hat
>>
>>150677114
Yes. Getting up Saturday morning in the spring/summer and mowing my lawn is the best way to start the weekend.
A man’s lawn says a lot about his character.
>>
>>150677114
Growing native plants > boomer monoculture lawn
>>
>>150677439
Valid, but if I live somewhere with a lawn I'm going to enjoy maintaining it. If I lived on a plot of lands off in the middle of the woods I would rather have big garden instead of a lawn.
>>
>>150677114
The existence of people who are stimulated intensely by the most boring, mundane and rudimentary tasks like mowing fucking grass or installing propane tanks in a grill has convinced me that some human beings need to be enslaved and granting them personhood was a mistake. They would be much happier being forced to preform the boring inane tasks they crave so much than being forced to pretend they have the same inclinations as a psychologically complete person.

>>150677585
People unable to derive pleasure from simple things are dopamine addicts that spend their entire day doomscrolling shit

Fuck no. Having to deal with all the annoying insects flying in your face makes mowing miserable.
>>
>>150677585
Spoken like a true pleasure addicted consoomer. If you can't find enjoyment in important daily tasks than you have the emotional maturity of a toddler. Life is mostly chores that you need to do to survive, you fucking retard.

Life unironically sounds like it'd be hell for you, which might explain you your immediate reaction is to jump to mass enslavement and dehumanization.

Probably, there are a LOT of boomers with special interests and who aren't particularly social but just got on with life and learned to deal with it because they never got diagnosed. I also think that's why autism appears to be on the rise when it's probably always been there, but was just seen as someone's personality rather than a disorder.
>>
>>150677585
What do you mean that people would feel blessed with purpose?
>>
>>150677137
The one I had didn't have a basket so the clippings would just stay on the lawn

Gay, pay a woman to edge for you instead
>>
>>150677114
No one does until they get those that you can drive. Happened with my parents where our entire childhood it was a struggle to get anyone to mow the lawn but then the moment they get a drivable one everyone offers to do it.
>>
it's not so bad. I usually just put on some headphones and play heavy metal.
>>
>>150677114
I hate it. I'd rather buy a robot lawnmower for 2k.
>>
I hate mowing my lawn. I hate having a lawn, a barren green carpet that does and looks like nothing. I would let it grow but then it looks like shit next to my retired boomer neighbors who have nothing but time and money

I would kill my lawn and let native prairie plants grow in a heartbeat, but prairies require fire to maintain and that's a no-go.

There was an extreme wind storm here a few years ago and only my trees were spared, so at least I get to enjoy shade

Which is better, push mower or riding mower?

>>150680553
>Tear up your front lawn
>Put in planting boxes
>Line the ground between them with cobblestone
>Plant fruits and vegetables
>You now have a unique front yard that's actually useful and the neighbors can't bitch about
Unless you have an HOA. Man fuck HOAs.
>>
>>150680559
desu for the sizo of hank's lawn he could probably get away with a push might even be better, he probably has to do a lot of turning on that riding.

A hat with that many big holes can't possibly block enough UV rays to prevent sunburn. I have an actual high-rated SPF sun hat and will still get some sunburn if cutting the grass takes more than a couple of hours.
>>
>>150682212
My neighbor has a quarter-acre, no trees or obstacles, about the size Hank has. He looks completely ridiculous riding around in a big circle on his John Deere riding mower for twenty minutes. I bet it takes him longer to clean up his pitbull's poop than it does to mow his lawn.

I have the same size but I have trees and gardens and a push mower and it takes me ninety minutes
>>
Grass is fucking retarded. I am not raising goats, or cattle.
>>
>>150678365
Pretty much. One of the most alarming statistics we don't see people talking about is how the earlier the kid is diagnosed past a certain point, the more fucked they are because of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
>>
>>150677397
renter cuck
lmao
>>
>>150683086
My neighbor has about half an acre and is out there on that zero-turn-radius riding mower twice a week keeping it as short as humanly possible. It's madness. I even caught him mowing on the Sabbath once, like a Godless heathen.

I've got an electric push mower that gets the job done just fine. I think he just likes having an excuse to get out of the house and not deal with the wife and kids for a bit. But if that were the case, why not go for a push mower so the grass cutting would take longer? Push mower takes me at least an hour or two, which is some nice mental down time unless it's the dog days of summer where it's too hot to enjoy the peaceful nature of lawn care.
>>
>>150678365
I'd also say he was limited to what outlets he could find, we already saw how fast he turned to gaming when he got to experience it
>>
>>150683283
only proving that hank is deeply autistic all the more
>>
>Want a nice, green, healthy lawn
>Accomplish this by slicing the grass in half, thus reducing their ability to photosynthesize.
>This forces you to use a ton of water and fertilizer to try and make up for crippling the grass.

There has got to be an easier way to make the empty area in front of your house look nice.
>>
>>150683471
xeriscaping is based
>>
>>150683471
I have wondered why lawns are even a thing, I guess it’s because people used to keep animals around their homes so we got used to the look of grass that was grazed. So probably just keep a sheep or something.
>>
Is there any reason why you can't just cover your yard in astroturf?
>>
>>150683525
It started as a natural landscape caused by grazing herbivores like goats

Then it became fashionable with the aristocracy in England, especially at Versailles

Then everyone blindly copied them, trying to imitate royalty

Then advertising firms for pesticides and herbicides kept the idea alive, making sure you felt bad for not keeping a tidy lawn
>>
>>150683525
Lawns are fucking retarded, here's a fun fact from Wikipedia:
>It has been estimated that nearly 64,000,000 litres (14,000,000 imp gal; 17,000,000 US gal) of gasoline are spilled each summer while re-fueling garden and lawn-care equipment in the United States: approximately 50% more than that spilled during the Exxon Valdez incident.
>>
>>150683563
Cover your yard with clover, prairie plants, sedges, mosses and/or ivy, or even rocks, instead of plastic.
>>
>>150683563
Number one would be gay HOAs, but I don't know why anyone would voluntarily live in a Karen police state. Other than that it looks pretty shit, even covering your yard with gravel looks better than astroturf.
>>
>>150677114
Thank goodness I don't have a grass lawn.

Believe it or not, because lawns, unless you absolutely overdo the amount of care you put into it, is a lot cheaper to repair and maintain than paved and artificial covering. The only major downsides are having to mow it, and it can't handle heavy foot traffic.
Hell, I'm even saying this as someone who hates mowing, but is willing to put up with it to not have my neighbors living within earshot of me. As far as I'm concerned, grass/lawns are just spacer material between buildings.
>>
>>150677114

I have almost an acre of land I need to periodically mow and I love gathering up all the grass clippings and putting it for the chickens in a giant pile. It's fun watching them scratch at it and find tiny bugs.

Hank is a strange character cause it seems like he should enjoy simple living, but if he ever got backyard chickens, he would probably think they were filthy, loud, and annoying instead of silly and beneficial pets.

>Hank lives in a small house
I've seen people keep chickens in yards smaller than Hank's.
>>
>>150680559
zero turn riding mower for the yard and tractor with bush hog for the pasture
>>
>>150683563
in the summer, astroturf becomes scorching hot almost as hot as concrete. So if you want to enjoy it and lounge in the "grass" don't do it in the summer
>>
>>150691765
Hank's life is arguably more simple than a country person who manages a farm. Actually I think it's weird people say living in the country is "simple" when what most country people do isn't simple.
>>
>>150692750
It's simple living in the sense that it's not complex to learn how to do, not that it's not labor intensive. People don't really refer to commercial farming as simple living, but moreso people just living a small homestead life.

The problem with taking an exaggerated cartoon character's behaviors and checking them against the real world is you say dumb shit like this. I know KotH is meant to be more grounded but Hank's behavior is clearly played up for laughs.
>>
>>150694156
Not all autists are introvert loners, have you never seen those who never shut up about something in specific? They just don't feel shame about being odd.
>>
>>150694177
Anon, homer simpson is an exagerated cartoon behaviour.
If hank wasn't autistic he would unironically be more like bob feltcher, another realistic and grounded cartoon dad.
Hank is totally on it, will defend to cape n spade propane without ever trying charcoal just because he studied the gas.
Nonstop talks about its lawn and how to get the perfect cut lawn and how much he wishes he could mow ots neighbours lawn.
Any other show would work for your argument but Koth is supposed to be this grounded and realistic cartoon, hank isn't officially autistic just because he was never diagnosed in the show.
>>
>>150694241
Hank had no problem eating a mesquite cooked burger earlier on, you're describing flanderization.
>>
>>150677114

I hate mowing my lawn. I have nearly an acre of lawn with about a third of it on an incline and the last quarter a sharp hill. Likewise, I would need to buy a shed to house a riding mower due to my yard’s size. I handle all the landscaping care, fertilizing and weeding but I have no problem paying $325/m for my mowing service. I make $150k/yr and this my one lazy person treat I’ll allow myself.
>>
>>150677616
Bugs usually fuck off when you're mowing.
>>
Always thought it was a joke about the male ego that the guys all had riding mowers for their absolutely tiny ass lawns. But I do like mowing, it gives me some time to think.
