Bendis is coming to save Marvel. And that's a good thing.

How do these hacks like Didio or Bendis still get jobs...is it becasue they are consistent in producing work? I dont get it

Bendis will learn from his mistake at DC and grow as a person and creator. I guarantee it.

Because /co/ntrarians or online bubbles are not the same as the average comics fans. The average comics fan still cares about the same few names and sees them as being a known consistent thing. And even when people would bitch about Bendis, his books still often sold. In the 90s he made some alright books, got on top of a bunch of trends, particularly post crash, cemented the modern Marvel method of events and ideas, even his big changes which caused controversy sold. The 00s were the anger sells period, until in the 2010s there was a lot of backlash. By then he was jumping onboard the diversity angle because he knew about the adaptation push and wanted to make diversity characters for adaptations. And by then places like /co/ were completely against him (although they had been bitching since Disassemebled). It is like how Hollywood is full of writers/directors who made a few good things and then nothing but shit. They cement themselves in a contextually important time then live off of that.

Bendis hasn't been working for the last 6 or so years so I'm not sure what changed now.

It was so weird how DC made a huge deal about Bendis is going to be working there months before he started writing. Not sure I have ever seen a company advertise that they got a shiny new writer on board like that before.

...and then he proceeded to tank 3 books at the same time and lost his job. In the span of a year.

Bendis couldn't save a jpg if his life depended on it

Honestly I just never liked his writing style. I hated how he has to include a book's worth of conversation between two characters in one page.

Whatever agenda or OCs he makes does not bother me nearly as much as how annoying he can make a single panel with like 14 different work bubbles wrapping around it.
