The company is still independently funded through their merch. Amazon/Netflix licensing deals aren't as much as you think they are. The Digital Circus Cafe in Japan probably is their biggest money maker and the conventions. If they were making good money from Netflix/Amazon they wouldn't be doing every major convention in America to raise money.
