AI can now make entire episodes of cartoons. They're not perfect yet, but this is such a step up from one year ago that I'm confident you'll be able to generate episodes that are indistinguishable from the real thing in no more than two years. How will this affect animators? Clearly studios won't need to hire them anymore.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPTPro/comments/1nxh8ql/using_sora_2_to_generate_a_south_park_episode/
>>
How is it handling the "continuity between shots" hurdle or is there a way to have like a manual clean up team handle that?
That's always gonna be the big one. No matter how many "fully AI generated short films/animations" I see. They always fall short on staying consistent between two shots and the inconsistencies happen frequently and glaringly enough to be noticeable.
>>
>>150697695
I played with this a bit and the only way to do continuity between shots would be to take a screenshot of the end of the previous scene and have it make a video based on that. It doing the actual voices and it animating correctly is completely random, so a guy making an "episode" had to generate the same scenes over and over until he got something that came out as intended.

Also you can't make these anymore, they blocked anything copyrighted yesterday.
>>
>>150697695
Why can't all the previous frames be part of the prompt?
>>
>>150697782
It doesn't work that way. You don't even have full control of your prompt because chatgpt rewrites it.
>>

This is yet another PR stunt by Openai to drum up interest through some controversy. Showcasing copyrighted stuff is a calculated move on their part. They do it just long enough to get people's attention to rekindle the AI hype and doomerism when it starts waning. Gotta get investors hyped up to draw out the bubble and worm their way into enough industries so they can get subsidized and bailed out.

Even if you were to take the PR stunt at face value OP's claim is misleading. The linked video is 2 minutes long and it's still a choppy inconsistent mess despite aping South Park's simple style. Note that this doesn't matter to AI fanatics who will frame any talk around imagining the potential instead of the dogshit jingling keys in front of everyone which allows them to dismiss any complaints.

Give me an adaptation and we'll talk. Till then, the tech still can't do it.

For anyone curious as to why we're getting yet another AI spam wave, OpenAI's PR tour they've been going om for a month now has been an utter disaster. Investers are finally sobering up an realizing the actual costs of all this shit, which means there's a good chance the life support this entire industry has been on is about to be pulled.

https://www.removepaywall.com/search?url=https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2025-10-02/altman-s-ai-power-grab-is-tone-deaf-and-infeasible

Sora2 was meant to be a Miyazaki-filter publicity stunt in an attempt to bring the investors back. Not only is it not working, but it's also worsened their court cases by making it cut and dry their entire "business" relies on copyright infringement.
>>
>>150697668
Can you make scene about Homer Simpson, Chief Wiggum, or Barney Gumble mooning the viewer? or does Sora 2 block nsfw?
>>

or bebop and rocksteady instead?

Call me when they can make a cartoon that doesn't get me a case and desist letter.
>>
Personally my thoughts on AI, there are places were it can probably be used, but it shouldn't be used to supplant actual writing/artistry, especially in the big industries.

Also anything made with AI should be explicitly marked as so

Just so you all know, they started blocking all this shit two days ago and they have been decreasing the number of things you can make each day. They were desperate for this to go viral, but it only went viral after it was effectively already over.

What about our son, Bart? He is always rude

Irony. Also, Canada is its own running gag in the show, and the AI still couldn't take advantage of that.

>>150702043
Well that's when most AIfags' attention spans end so that's an episode.
>>
>>150702043
Also GPT/Sora has the strictest filters, it's the least suited for accurate replicating South Park, even the modern seasons

Considering how the show takes 6 days to be made I'd say handling this would be easy.
Its like how vocal AI sounds shitty and lifeless when using text to speech but when you use musicians singing it can sound real

This one actually made me laugh, and the voice acting isn't fucked up, especially good on Randy's line.
https://x.com/BrandonBVarnell/status/1974631341762527658
I thought Kenny would probably want to be Nezuko considering his Princess Kenny persona and general degeneracy, but having him be the fully masked option is something the show definitely wouldnt pass up.

Also it's a shame they blew their load on ChatGPT, now they can't do a big joke about having AI actually make a full video for them (though doing it through Sora would make copyright legality more bullshit for the industry.) Maybe they'll do it when you can do it through other basic programs in the future.
>>
>>150697695
Shut up, that's how.
>>
>>150704208
It does suck though how the guy who posted it was too lazy to even edit in Cartman's pupil for a few frames just so his "this really happened. wow" joke would work. That's one shitty side of AI that will never change, how lazy the people are doing it even when it'd benefit them to do basic touchups for their own joke.

Because it turns out that the most advanced tools in the world don't make up for a lack of creativity or a work ethic.
So you can make a video of Will Smith eating pasta? We already have a Will Smith and we're tired of him. That's not interesting. So you can make an episode of South Park. We have South Park already, it's jumped the shark, AND it doesn't have lazy errors like >>150704259

Now I have a question for you, pajeet. Why is it that whenever you shills defend AI you don't post your work? You just post the curated advertising direct from the developer's teat?
