Is there a particular reason why Gendy got like 3 different projects in the works at any given moment while other huge names like Hirsch, McCracken, Rebecca Sugar, Lauren Faust, etc. are ignored olympically by suitfags unless it's to make shitty reboots and revivals and sequels? What special connections does he have that will get him fucking FIXED approved but not the 14+ pitches McCracken said he made before the upcoming PPG reboot/revival
>>150703930Both. Both is good.
>>150703930He is an artistic genius, you can see the appeal from the first clip. Meanwhile most American artists are virtually identical in drawing style so only clout from the industry, follower count, etc gives their drawings power.Avoid homogeny and you too can be treated as an important artist.
>>150704955Genius is a bit much but he is very talented I agree with that, but there must be something else at play here. He clearly knows something about the executive world that makes him move so succesfully that everyone else just doesn't
>>150703930I’m pretty sure the reason all his action cartoons were greenlit was because he already had experience with CN and they liked Samurai Jack. McKraken made popular stuff but he probably didn’t get the same treatment cause he resigned from CN during 2009 cause the network was in an incredibly poor state back then, and even he struggled a bit with pitching Wander Over Yonder and Kid Cosmic.Genndy directing the Hotel Transylvania was a different case though cause he was approached to direct the film by the original creator of the pitch and overhauled it, we got sequels because the first film was popular and Sony wanted to milk it. Getting Fixed approved also wasn’t an easy task.
>>150704991I think he just delivers on time and doesn't fight with producers too hard. He's an artist first and foremost and he seems to be focused more on the actual animation of the cartoons he works in rather than the characters, lore, etc. He has done stuff like hotel transylvania and more commercial stuff and probably did it without complaining much. Also, he never worked for Disney, who are well known for being incredibly annoying to work with even by industry standards, so you never know.
>>150703930>Acting as if beanmouth artists should be as well respected as Craig and GenndyKys faggot
>>150706068The premise of the question only concerns the weight and reliability of the names mentioned in the eyes of executives, not their real or perceived talent, retard
