All I remember about Earthworm Jim is that escort mission with the dog called For Pete's Sake
>>
the neighbor should have been voiced by ned flanders since jim is voiced by homer simpson

The 90's was heaven for cartoons.
>>

1983 till about 2003 was paradise for Cartoon shows and animation. After that it's been a slow death.

Still with some good stuff

I like the Earthworm Jim cartoon a lot but it falls into a whole subgenre of "we're all trying to be Animaniacs" cartoons that are kind of annoying to watch these days.
EWJ was better than Animaniacs though so I will give it that.

what would be the others? I know we can technically count Freakazoid but what else was there?

The 80s were pretty bad.
>>
>>150711368
80s was nefarious for horrible toy commercial driven shows. Especially the cheapy ones that needed baby dialogue with campy writing.
>>
>>150711707
bad in what way? Their was a lot of content.
>>

80s was a huge step up from the 70s. Not nearly so copy+paste. Even toyetic Good Guys v. Bad Guys action shows have more variety than mutiple clones of Scooby Doo. Animation was better because of the merch-driven funding.

So was the 90s, go check out the thread here about Hobgoblin. Most the Webms it's painfully obvious it's selling a huge toy guilder.
>Especially the cheapy ones that needed baby dialogue with campy writing.
I feel like that was everywhere in the 90s as well. Really you are always going to have that in this market.

>Shit nobody cares about
They were fun to watch, and weren't pushing retarded culture war agendas like cartoons from the last 10 years have. What more do you need?

Being actually good

When was the last time you watched them, be honest with me.

They have literally always done that throughout the history of cartoons. You were very likely shaped by the political beliefs those shows did carry so it comes across as common-sense non-issues to you now.

>Le 80s was bad!

Nah.

Scooby Doo, He-man, Real Ghostbusters, Smurfs, TMNT, Ducktales, Transformers, Inspector Gadget, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Jem.

All good shows. Sure, there's a lot crap in this era too, but that's because so many SMC were successful that so many different parties were throwing shit at the wall to see what would stick and make the next million in merchandising.

I know so many of you get mad that queerness was still rightfully considered a mental disorder in this era, so there's not much to gay ship, but unfortunately for you this era is still very entertaining and fun. Ultimately what came posts 2000s is essentially the death of TV and cartoons. Literally NOT doing what the 80s did, and trying to do gay shit and catering to mentally ill teenagers who feel the need to live vicariously (especially romantically) through cartoons killed cartoons and TV.

Cartoons were literally just better when they were to commercials and not fag shipping conventions for the mentally disturbed.
