Marvel should bring him back like they did with Bendis. Let them save Marvrl together.

Polish people like CB Cebulski have no place in this industry.

I appreciate that Knights, MAX, and even Icon were products of his era. Thanks to his connections we got some amazing talent too. I generally liked that under Quesada there was a push for gritty stories and street level heroes and Icon and MAX were the closest Marvel came to having something like Vertigo since the defunct Epic imprint. Overall, I think despite the long term harm of Civil War, Disassembled, and the Spidey shit, the good things that happened under his reign were fantastic.

I feel like anons now massively forget the context of the 90s crash, which destroyed comics, absolutely gutted the industry, over half the comic book shops closed and it was a really bad time. I liked a bunch of Marvel Knights books, they are products of the time, but at a time when the industry had collapsed these were the sort of books that were helping things recover. In hindsight people can find a bunch to criticise, especially like you say because of the long term harm of the new event style cycle. But I don't think that is all to blame on him.

Anons will kvetch endlessly about certain names (like Bendis) who obviously have problems and never truly try to understand how their position got cemented.

This is spot on. 00s Marvel was special.

It annoys me that he made it so characters can't smoke anymore. Like a lot. I don't even smoke or like it in real life but it just feels wrong.

It was weird as fuck seeing Ben give it up citing health reasons when he's fucking immortal
>>
No amount of good he did will ever overshadow that he had spider-man sacrifice his daughter to the devil.

The restrictions didn't carry over to MAX and Ennis made a jab at it

Quesada's mother died of cancer. Marvel character smoking ban was implemented.
Quesada's marriage failed and he got a divorce. Quesada decided to OMD/BND Peter and MJ's marriage. Peter (drawn to look like a younger, slimmer, and more athletic Quesada) then have a new love interest (a woman tthat drawn somewhat resembling his daughter and share the same name as his daughter).

I mean you're acting as though anyone since couldn't have fixed that.

can't with his sycophants in office

Someone else picking up your mess doesn't excuse you from making it, that's beyond childish
>>
>>150714002
I mean, messes will always happen at comic book companies but it is always fixable. I am not excusing that mess but like that other anon ITT said, a lot of stuff has to be placed in context of the era he was big in.

>a lot of stuff has to be placed in context of the era he was big in.
What context justifies having Spider-man sell his marriage to the devil. This isn't inexcusable. The smoking thing might be whatever but a lot of marvel fundamentally broke itself in half and there's no CONTEXT that gives it a pass.

Comics crashed. They were trying everything they could to keep them going. Shock, gimmicks, the lot. But also trying to maintain some pathetic idea of status quo to keep the book approachable. It is dumb, I am not defending it in the way you think I am, but I am saying that they were throwing shit at the wall and were at least successful in keeping things going, building them back up. In hindsight it feels horrible, like ruining the character, sure.

>>150713933
damn
that guy is a fucking loser
>>
he ruined spider man and exposed the comics industry as spineless
>>
>>150714128
This is the true deal with the devil, either:
>Marvel should have just died
or, what we got:
>Marvel fucked up itself to live
>>
>>150713063
Lol Marvel was ruined long before he had any impact.
