I know it's just an adaptation of an adaptation of something that was already /co/ but I like that small comic with CIA and Bane, one of my friends gave me a special edition Blu-ray as a gift that had that comic.

Stallone as older Rambo in the fourth movie made me want him to play Frank Castle. Frank Grillo in The Purge Anarchy is also basically Frank.

If you squint at it this was a better 90s Superman TV show than Lois & Clark.

Falling Down is a pretty good adaptation of The Killing Joke

This

A better Snake Eyes movie than the actual Snake Eyes movie. There's even a villain called Cobra in one of the sequels
>>
I mean, fairly well-known, but Darkman is pretty blatantly somewhere between a knockoff and blended tribute to the Shadow and the Spider, ostensibly after Raimi got turned down for making an actual Shadow movie. That gets tenuous and way more balls to the wall, but goddamn is it a fun time, especially the famed "elephant" scene. Really underrated, very /co/ coded, and you can feel its DNA in Spider-Man later on, if only by being comics-adjacent and by Raimi years earlier.

>>150711107
>Grillo
That was right on the line of social media supplanting forums, but I feel like there must've been fan posters and shit using that, I recall people saying similar back then. Hell, I felt it when I saw it back then. I've never seen hum do anything that has the gravitas required, but damn if the look and nature if the character wasn't perfect. Possibly intentional.

>Look it up, never heard of it
>Actor's debut role
>He literally, actually said he was a fan of the Batman comics and based his performance on the Joker
>Frank Gorshin also based part of his Riddler performance on this character

Holy fucking shit. Looking it up it's nice and creepy too. Possibly my favorite film "version" of him now, that's perfect. Wild.

the first good Spider-Man movie

suck it, Nicholas Hammond

it even has the great power/great responsibility line (it was written by Jeph Loeb, I don't know what Stan Lee thought of him doing that)
>>
>>150716485
One retarded writer made him southern because he thought Cletus = bucktooth redneck. Kill yourself.
>>
>>150716912
>One retarded writer
It's literally brought up multiple times by different writers, like Bunn, Wells, and Duggan outside of the Carnage-Man thing. Spider-Man and Deadpool even make fun of him for it. It's clearly meant to be a part of his character despite how weird it is since he's NYC born.
>>
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Red Sparrow being the closest to a Black Widow film before we actually got one

The Pusher episode of X-Files was a better Purple Man story than the entirety of Jessica Jones.
>>
>>150717121
Red Sparrow was terrible and the basis of it (the training schools) was almost certainly cribbed from Western fiction like the Red Room concept introduced by Marvel (Grayson/Jones) in the early 1980s, or SPECTRE Island from the Bond movies/novels.

The reason it reads like a Black Widow movie is because it owes a deep debt to Black Widow, among other fictions. Hell Black Widow and Modesty Blaise owe each other a similar debt.

>constantly moving the goalposts just to cope about Cletus being Southern
>>
>>150717441
No goalposts here moved, retard.
Modern shitty characterizations are garbage written by hacks, so no. It's not "meant as a part of his character", it's a shitty retcon by idiots who see the name "Cletus" and think they should write a stereotypical hick, not caring about how he was actually written by people with talent.
Kill yourself, you literal subhuman.

You're an absolute retard.
Also none of these writers were writing Carnage "20 years ago", so maybe learn your stuff before opening the asshole you consider to be your mouth.
Bunn wasn't even working at Marvel until 2011
Duggan only in 2012
Wells didn't touch Carnage until 2011
Kill yourself.
>>>>150717477
>I'm gonna shit on David Michelinie

Fuck off back to CBR and get cancer, you absolute subhuman.
>>
Imagine unironically defending 2010s butcheries of characters.
You'd have to be a very special kind of subhuman to do that. Suicide is the only cure for that, I'm afraid.
>>
Carnage fans are so funny to bait they love to pretend their shitty edgelord ripoff of Venom is in any way compelling or deserves any good treatment instead of being cast aside like the 90s slop he is. live-action Carnage being a dud was the greatest fucking thing to happen to piss you faggots off and I'll always cherish the seething when that came out
