What are some genuine classic Big Two books released after 2010? I'm not talking books that are simply good or passable, but books that are genuinely considered modern classics of the capeshit genre?
>>
whats the point? people will post sincere recs only for every suggestion to be met "no that sucks actually"

Art alone makes it way above majority of Marvel capeshit coming out nowadays.
>b-but
Nothing about this book indicates it takes place after OMD, so that could be easily ignored. Just a classic Spider-Man/Doctor Strange team-up that happened to come out during 2010s and has that McCarthy weirdness.

Oh shit, I forgot about this one. That's one of the better ones too.
>>
>>150719400
No surprise there.
/co/'s been seething about Ennis since The Boys TV show non-stop that people here retroactively started pretending Ennis never wrote anything good.
(Also considering I've seen Ennis seethe outside /co/, I wouldn't be surprised if this is some opinion fed to zoomers by some Youtube "essayist")
>>
>>150719465
/co/ is actually a minor offender as far as the Ennis hate goes. Ever since that one video dropped calling The Boys comic terrible and the comic community turned against anything remotely ""edgy"", everyone started parroting that Ennis is just an edgelord when he's one of the greats.
>>
>>150719386
All Ewing books are suspiciously shilled here
>>
>>150719386
>>150719509
Ewing comics are for people who have continued to read Marvel without a real care for quality, meaning they read a lot of bad stuff. Ewing looks good in comparison, and they're impressed when he digs up some old piece of lore, whether it means anything or not.
>>
post 2010 is a long time. The Big Two have produced good books over the past 15 years, in spite of all their bullshit. No you're wrong, stop saying "everything sucks." it doesn't, you're just hear to be a contrarian because you're mentally ill and are refusing to get your life together

MARVEL:
remender's uncanny x force

fraction & allred's FF
waid & samnee's daredevil (and black widow)
Superior Foes of Spider Man
ennis' library of punisher & fury minis (and phantom eagle)
Blackman & Del Mundo's Elektra
Kaare Andrews Iron Fist
All New Ghost Rider
DWJ's Beta Ray Bill
Ellis - Wood - Lemire Moon Knight
McKay's Moon Knight
Spurrier's X Men Legacy
ms marvel vol 1 by wilson & adolpha
The Duggan (and Poesehn) Deadpool

Clobberin Time by Skroce
Immortal Hulk
Skottie Young's Rocket Raccoon & Groot stuff
Skottie Young and Shanower's Oz Adaptations

Genndy's Luke Cage

Sentimental favorites YMMV:

Remender is a terrible writer.

>>150718459
It can't be considered a classic since he left so soon, he actually teases an upcoming big arc and then leaves.

I think it's generally too early to tell. A lot of what defines what a classic was is time. We remembered stories XYZ decades later and call them classic. The problem with so many stories and even writers now is that they want to be that classic while they're still in print. That's not really how it works.

I posted The Multiversity. Didn't enjoy all of it, though.
I prefer older comics. 00s still had a few good ones, but the number has gone down since the 80s. I like works to have passion and to test the limits of the medium.
Genndy's comic is a little better than most, art wise, but ultimately it's an uninteresting story with characters I don't care about.
>>
>>150720859
>I like works to have passion and to test the limits of the medium
This along with you posting multiversity and not naming any others tells me you don't actually read that many comics and just like the high of being an "elite fan" who doesn't read "slop" but conveniently can't list off personal favorites that would denote an actual history of reading comics

People think they're positive if they take this kind of approach but they just create an environment of "fake positivity". The same /co/ posters that lament the sad state of the industry every day then come here and champion the most aggressively mediocre crap they can find and then get mad at you for not liking them. It's also interesting to see the thread full of nothing but Big 2 comics.

>>150721053
>fake positivity
That's such a /v/ mindset when faced with people liking things you don't like. I don't even care for most comics but when there's something I find enjoyable I'll praise it. And if there's a comic others like that I don't then I just move on because I'd rather talk about stuff I like than stuff I don't like. The real problem is that some anons can only like comics they feel are 10 out of 10. They can't like decent or flawed comics or even guilty pleasures. And those that do are shit and their opinion sucks and they need to be told that. Imagine a group of people in real life sitting around and talking about things they like and one guy walks in and shit talks all of their choices. I've seen people like that. Nobody likes talking to them or inviting them to hang out.

I like a lot of comics: American, European, and Japanese.
As far as superheroes, I like my darker stuff like Watchmen, Matt Wagner's fiest Mage book, Moore and Davis' Captain Britain, Dark Knight Returns, and Gerber's Foolkiller, and lighthearted ones like Tom Strong, Cole's Plastic Man, parts of Astro City, All-Star Superman, and For All Seasons.

Its success led to the writer doing too much adn running out of tricks very quickly, but the tricks were new and they were interesting and it was one of the few comics of the last 10-15 years that I a) really felt I had to know what came next and b) wasn't enraged when I found out.

It's more of a commentary on Vision (and Scarlet Witch) comics than it is a logical development of his character, to the point that Mark Waid wrote a story to explain why Vision was acting the way he does in this comic. But that doesn't bother me a lot, especially since the theme is that superhero characters keep regressing and repeating the same stories over and over.

This was my first King comic. I didn't like this back when everybody still loved him.
I thought it was too slow paced and contrived so that bad things would happen. I didn't feel bad for the characters, and didn't care about Vision in the first place.

This was a really bad comic.

Let's be honest, that's on Slott since "what if Flash was Venom with guns".
Remender was merely given an assignment to make a good book out of a shit concept. So you can cope by blaming Slott for ruining Flash while praising Remender, like I do.

*was Slott's idea.
