What killed the Hype?
There wasn't any hype because nobody knew it existed or when it was being released
>>150731426Warner Bros refusing to fucking advertise the thing
>>150731426Zaslav marketed the film like shit and now we’ll probably never see another 2D western animated feature for a while because of that.It angers me that people are so adamant on supporting the "WHAT IF CARTOON BUT IN REAL WORLD" shit that is Coyote Vs ACME rather than this film that was actually cartoonist driven and actually wanted to be Looney Tunes. It sucks cause there were so many talented artists attached to this project too.
>>150731426It made enough to convince Ketchup Entertainment to buy Coyote Vs ACME as well they made a profit off it, quit whining
>Do you know how hard it is for a male duck to lay eggs?
>>150731426Botched marketing
>>150731426They don’t care about Looney Tunes enough to promote it
>>150731426It not being good.
>>150731516WB not caring about Looney Tunes is like Disney not caring about Mickey, this is the timeline we’re living in.
>>150731447>people are so adamant on supporting is Coyote Vs ACMEThat was more a Barbara Streisand effect. Nobody would have turned out for Coyote vs ACME if it had been released normally. The buzz got generated by people supporting the “don’t throw fully produced movies into the hidden vault as a tax write off” protest. And then that snowballed into people pretending they cared about the movie itself until they even believed it themselves.
>>150731426It was a movie made for streaming that should have never been in theaters. Furthermore >>150731437 this.Meanwhile, when the movie hit streaming...
>>150731426There was hype to begin with... ?
>>150731516To be fair, modern audiences don't care about Looney Tunes either.
>>150731447>now we’ll probably never see another 2D western animated feature for a whileSo business as usual?
>>150733825When you think about it, the future of 2D animated features in America was basically banking on the success of TDTEBU, it could’ve proved to execs that 2D was marketable again had it been marketed better, like it was originally going to be made for streaming, why make the decision to release it in theaters if you’re not gonna put faith into it?
>>150733999It's the sales agent who decided to make this movie a theatrical release. Warner Bros. was not responsible for the marketing since they were not distributing it, so they didn't do much besides mention it on social media.
>>150731447Zaslav had nothing to do with the marketing, it got sold to an independent film distributor named Ketchup Entertainment who didn't have the necessary funds to market a film like this.>>150731454Honestly, I don't expect Coyote vs ACME to be any good, given it has the same problem as previous LT films: sidelining the cartoon characters for human actors.
>>150731447>now we’ll probably never see another 2D western animated feature for a whileI just watched one like a month ago.
>>150731426Daffy being the root cause of Porky's speech impediment got a good laugh outta me
>>150731426I would totally fuck them both up the ass
>>150731426Do they fuck?
>>150735694Each other? I hope so. I would watch them fuck. I would totally fuck them up the ass
>>150735748Based. Wacky gay toon sex with these two would be amazing.
>>150731665To be fair Mickey is stuck in a preschool show, they won't do much else with him anymore.
>>150731665The film was released 20 years too late for it to be a huge success.
