Still loving this book, it’s the best monthly right now for my money. I do wish the format was a bit longer per issue, this arc feels like a lot to wrap up in ~20 pages. I get they want to stick to a monthly schedule but the art is suffering for it even with fill in artists. I’m pretty bummed that Capullo is exclusive to Marvel now, I’d have loved to see him get at least a few of these fill in issues, his style would be great for these designs.. as much as I do love Jock, I’m kinda bummed he’s drawing the “extremely horrific” Joker issue. That’s another gripe about the scheduling is that it robs Dragotta of drawing pivotal issues and characters he design like Freeze. All that aside, this book has me reading monthly again after a near decade hiatus. I read monthlies starting in 2003 with Hush up to the end of Snyders New 52 run, Absolute Batman ranks pretty high up there in my book. Last time I enjoyed Batman this much when when Morrison was in the peak of his epic run.
