Vriska seems to regret having done these terrible things to her former friends, which leaves her isolated.Equius gifts Aradia a robot body. She quickly discovers he programmed it to have romantic feelings for him and has a psychotic break. This triggers such a profound hatred it provokes black romance. And then Hussie rolls out the quadrants.Karkat informs Vriska she's likely broken in some way and can't truly hate someone because it's the only emotion she seems to have. Then he tells her to bring Tavros into the session. Later, in the game, Karkat makes a literal blood pact with Jack to usurp the Dersite queen and win their session. It turns out he has red blood. I'm sure that will never come up later.It turns out all the trolls were in the same session together, making it very difficult to win. This is when Kanaya is introduced. She harvests a 'matriorb' from her recently deceased lusus, which seems to be an immature form of the creature that births every troll.Kanaya was given visions of Rose's GameFAQs guide. It informed the trolls' session and played a major role in their success.Tavros enters the game.

Everything revealed about him in the leadup to Murderstuck, especially right before him going off the rails, pointed to how badly he needed a Moirail or a black relationship to balance himself. When he talks about his land and what it was like there, he makes it very clear that he has social issues that no one tried to help with and that he, by nature, doubled down on his behaviors repeatedly because everyone's negative reactions only fed his ego. Feferi gave up on being his Moirail when they entered the game, and Vriska gave up on his rivalry with him entirely once he was no longer in a leadership position. Trolls may be violence-prone aliens, but they're far more social than humans and far more dependent on socialization than humans because of this. Compounding this, no one cared about the Troll hierarchy in a serious way other than him. Gamzee kept himself insane, and Equius's perversion was limited from him under the justification of landdwellers and seadwellers having a historical rivalry. Eridan is a case of what happens when a Troll is undersocialized and what Troll society and the quadrants are meant to balance out. Vriska indirectly supports this by making a tangential argument to John when she discusses how Sburb/Sgrub orients itself based on the traits of its players. Things would have been better if Karkat, the Troll most likely to be culled, wasn't their friend and didn't bring them all down by uniting them against the game. Troll society and biology work themselves out, but Karkat was the exception to both. In contrast, Eridan is the most egregious example of Vriska's argument about the disaster that was Karkat's leadership. Even if Karkat can be a nice guy, he's not a "good person" by Troll standards and is the equivalent to an autist in Troll culture, and his actions led to the Trolls not achieving self-fulfillment in their session, Eridan included.
