The original "Attack of the Clones" is the glut of clones that were hired by Image and other companies. Back then I thought Travis Charest was becoming a better "Jim Lee" than Lee himself. Charest is slow, but nonetheless there was a progression in his brief stint at Image. Rather than honing their craft, most of the founders became more obsessed with cross hatching than innovating their visual story telling, or at the least improving their forms, anatomy, perspective and so forth. That irony is lost on Lee. The machine is not us. It doesn't have our frailties nor our hopes and compassion.
