Marvelsaars could never.
>>
>>150741602
Good, but can this old man enforce it? AI is getting better, and certain artists have already used AI under his nose.
>>
>>150741621
Shut the FUCK up, Brevoort.
>>
>>150741602
Yeah, there's no way AI could have come up with Superman Smashes the Klan or Death Metal.
>>
Wasn’t there joker art a few months back in a Batman comic that was obviously AI?
>>
>>150741621
>Good, but can this old man enforce it?
By setting an example. Fire anyone who gets caught.
>>
>>150741602
Im 100% sure ive seen already ai backgrounds and ai tracing in dc comics.
>>
>>150741602
should put this effort hiring star power back into the company
>>
Weren't they literally caught releasing what was believed to be an AI generated Batman comic with a weird filter over it with a weird fucky joke?
>>
>>150741988
rules not for me nor thee
>>
>>150741602
Too late. They already released multiple Batman comics that used ai. So unless they're gonna pull those from listings forever, the box is already opened.
>>
>>150741602
AI is a tool, just like 3D models are a tool or how a good portfolio of reference images is a tool.

And it's not the tools that's the issue, it's how it's used. And powerful AI tools for comic artists are being developed. So ignore them at your own digression.
>>
>>150742137
Shit those might become a collector's item in a decade or so if they stick to this
>>
>>150742264
>Shit those might become a collector's item
Give it a year or two and Jimmy will be praising AI.
>>
>>150742264
Only valuable to other deluded ai obsessed dudes. Just like NFTs.
>>
>>150741621
Maybe. Jim and DiDio are that blend of person that's indifferent about what doesn't affect them, but hyper focused with whatever they feel does. It's how he clawed his way to being top shit from doing pencils, to helping make Image in protest to the big two, then using his work from that to make deals to buy his way into influence in DC.

As someone who made their career from art I especially can see why it would be a point for him not to make it easy for anyone else to claw through all he has by just prompting most of the work load.
>>
>>150741602
market correction imminent anyway
>>
>>150741602
Fucking pointless after they already hired an AI artist for their Batman comics.
>>
>>150742258

People who use AI use it exclusively because they lack talent, and people who lack talent should not be published.
>>
>>150742594
Do you remember that one fella that used AI to ink and color his pencils and AI did what AI does and fucked up?
>>
>>150741602
AI slop is just cheaper, much more efficient than the very low quality, highly derivative garbage slop entertainment they are making and has increasingly comparable quality to large chunk of their offerings.
The anti-AI backlash is overblown by the loud minority of the moralfags, luddities and troon/furfag "artist" coalition being pissed that they can no longer sell overcharged degen fetish "art".
AI is inevitable. In a decade AI will have taken over most of the global entertainment industries. It takes a special breed of midwit to think that this trend can be reversed by crying harder about it.
Anyways, I think he thinks that too but saying this PR piece to appease retards.
>>150741785
And how do you "catch" them exactly?
At most you can say "this has AI vibes".
>inb4 muh AI detection tool(all of them are bogus)
>inb4 muh we can just tell(plenty of artists with glossy or otherwise "AI-like" styles got wrongly harassed by hysterical social media mobs)
Excellent idea if you want A LOT of very stupid drama and never-ending witch hunts.
>>150742594
Plenty of "writers" and "artists" working on comics never used AI, but completely lack any semblance of talent, and are published regardless.
>>
>>150741602
Ol' Jim has earned back my respect.
>>
>>150742137
This makes if official policy that they will be terminated if it happens again.

Also, there's literally no comic that's been released in the last 5 years that anyone would miss if it was purged forever.
>>
>>150742914
Well no mainline comic. People, for some reason, like the Absolute line. Dark Patterns has gotten some love. Gargoyle of Gotham.... well I've read it.
>>
>>150741621
>AI is getting better
It still soulless as fuck.
>>
>>150742704
>"catch"
(a) you can actually use AI to determine if a piece of writing or a photograph (or other image file), just to name two examples, were made with AI. It's not cheap right now, but it's doable.
>inevitable
(b) So was (and is) plastic.
And it's the fact that you have teaspoonfulls of microplastics embedded deeply within your brain stem and other important organs that you regurgitate imbecilic nonsense and it makes sense to you.

Anon, he already allowed Ai art to contaminate the Batman books.
>>
>>150741742
Yes. And a Batman kissing Catwoman too
>>
>>150743015
The unfortunate truth is unless people outright say or from obvious details, even people who do legit get called AI

We can call something soulless now because we can clearly tell no human involvement in it, but as AI gets better at hiding the fact that its AI or people cheat and clean AI art to remove defects, the boundary between soul and soulless gets thinner as the years go by

This would be fine if this wasn't an acceptable alternative to AI
>>
>>150741602
This is a lie.

The "Freelancers" will be using AI for story and art while DC will simply look away at any potential issues. The phrase is "plausible deniability". None of the people using AI technically work for DC as they are contractors ergo will not be held to any kind of accountability.

>Retarded Jim: Did you use AI?
>Contractor: ...No
>Retarded Jim: Okay.

A thing that's even easier for writers given nobody reads this shit anyway.

You know what was funnier? The fact that people tried to push this artist after crapping all over him the moment he did some indie book.

Why can't you fuckers just trust in Jim Lee and be optimistic for once in your fucking lives? If editorial itself is commenting on it, surely it's something they might actually try to put effort in fighting.
>>
>>150744517
Because they've done everything in their power to make American Comics worse for near two decades now. And all cause they only care about movies, tv, and politics.

They already job all their art to South America cause it's cheaper. The cost cutting will continue with AI.
>>
>>150744517

You lost me there.

Honestly, AI cant. Because this was never done before. And fanfiction about this is so rare that it wouldnt rank that high to be a possibility the AI could predict.
You just would get story that reads like Bendis.
>>
>>150741602
>We won't use AI, it looks too cheap!
>Traces a Lego spaceship on a sci-fi comic.
>>
>>150741602
>Marvelsaars could never.
No because Brevoort decided to instead shoot himself big time in the foot and show people AI-generated trash on his newsletter which got people extremely mad on him to the point that he immediately announced next week that he won't be managing it weekly like he used to

Anyways Jim is also a hypocrite, he already toyed with the idea on training an AI on his artstyle to be used and licensed out by his estate after his death and he/DC were also involved a lot in the NFT shit that he also shat on in the speech
>>
>>150744464
Still better than ai
>>
>>150744517
They’re actual shills
>>

>Posts Marvel at a DC Thread
>>
>>150741602
That statement would have more teeth if DC was currently creative and not just treading water.
>>
>>150744687
The problem at DC is more in the writers room so this would just be the last nail in the coffin.
>>
>>150741602
Finally this absolute joke of a company does something right.
>>
>>150743678
>(a) you can actually use AI to determine if a piece of writing or a photograph (or other image file), just to name two examples, were made with AI. It's not cheap right now, but it's doable.
Bullshit.
AI is just trying to reason "whether it looks AI-like enough" similar to how you do.
Keep asking about enough real photos and drawings and eventually it will hallucinate one to be AI. (Or conversely AI generated pictures and eventually one will pass off as real.)
>>150744668
Cope
>>
>>150745165
I mean they just fired someone who openly supported political violence. So baby steps in the right direction.
>>
>>150741602
Ironic, AI writing trained on pre-2000 stories could be a step up. Kinda doubt it would try to push an Identity Crisis or whatever Tom King writes.

As a matter of fact, it probably wouldn't have had some of the flaws from Hush, either.
>>
>>150741735
>AI could have come up with Superman Smashes the Klan
White supremacists are overused. When are we going to get Superman Annihilates Antifa?
Short answer? Never from this company. Not unless a right wing Elon Musk type buys them.
>>
>>150741602
I recall this dude talking about how back during the Image days, he was the only company founder who had a child so he was wearing a baby carrier just chilling in a hotel room while every other founder was running around and playing with each other
>>
>>150741602
Who do you said based in korean? Jim Lee has won some points for this.
>>
>>150745165
>>150745593
>writer's room
>they fired
Not exactly. It was a WARNER BROTHERS EXECUTIVE who fired the retard. Not someone at DC but a WARNER BROTHERS EXECUTIVE. Rest assured DC still agrees that murdering people you disagree with is fine. And I can say this with absolute honesty because the person in question was spouting such things long before he got hired.
>>
>>150744517
I wish I had your optimism. The dude is a company man that will say whatever they think is the right thing to say at the moment. He was the hold out when they were trying to form Image. His contemporaries back then believed he would climb the corporate ladder at Marvel. All hype and very little substance is what the Image founders delivered. The original "Attack of the Clones" is the glut of clones that were hired by Image and other companies. Back then I thought Travis Charest was becoming a better "Jim Lee" than Lee himself. Charest is slow, but nonetheless there was a progression in his brief stint at Image. Rather than honing their craft, most of the founders became more obsessed with cross hatching than innovating their visual story telling, or at the least improving their forms, anatomy, perspective and so forth. That irony is lost on Lee. The machine is not us. It doesn't have our frailties nor our hopes and compassion. A bit of a moot point as some here can't see how cold and machine-like they have chosen to become. Believing comics will end is as misguided as thinking graffiti will stop existing. The future is yours. Whatcha gonna do Mean Gene, whatcha gonna do brother, whatcha gonna do?!?!
>>
Didn't DC already make several comics with A.I. art like last year?
