I’m absolutely thrilled that we’re able to collaborate on this book.”
>‘Zorro’s Legacy’, launching in June 2026, pairs fan-favorite writer Dan Abnett and artist Aaron Lopresti as they break new ground for the franchise, exploring the adventures of a modern-day descendant of Zorro in Los Angeles and his quest to live up to his newly-discovered heroic roots in a grounded series perfect for fans of mature street-level stories.“Zorro is a great hero, and his legacy is as relevant as it’s always been,” said writer Dan Abnett. “And Aaron’s a great artist. It’s a pleasure to be working with him to explore this classic character and carry that legacy forward into new adventures and daring exploits for today’s readership.”“Zorro is a classic adventure character that everyone knows,” adds artist Aaron Lopresti. “I am thrilled to be involved in bringing a modernized version of him to life in this mini-series with Dan!”>“Zorro is one of my all-time favorite heroes and it’s a dream come true to be working with comic industry legends like Howard Chaykin, Jorge Fornés, Dan Abnett and Aaron Lopresti on these new series,” explains Alien Books Director and Editor-in-Chief Matias Timarchi. “We are building something truly special for both Zorro and comic book fans to enjoy and can’t wait to share more about our plans.”>John Gertz, President of Zorro Productions, Inc. stated, “We have consistently leveraged a fresh, innovative approach and top talent to continually enrich the Zorro universe, brand, and franchise. Our collaboration with Alien Books is a thrilling new chapter, demonstrating Zorro’s adaptability as they create a compelling new take on the legend that will expand the traditional canon for a whole new generation of fans.”>Additional details and artwork for both ‘Zorro’ and ‘Zorro’s Legacy’ will be shared in the months to come via Alien Book’s website and in IDW Publishing’s monthly catalog.
>FornesLmao, ofc give it to comics' number one Toth imitator. I'd have more respect for him if he actually looked at Toth beyond surface appeal and gave an actual brush a go instead of digital
>>150746305>>150746305>>150746313Im waiting to find out there’s some sort of monkeys paw here. Good things aren’t allowed to exist these days so why are these sounding like theyre actually going to be good?
>>150746305I like Fornes, too bad he's wasted on this.
>>150746305This Spanish fag doesn’t hold a candle to the real Mexican Robin Hood, Joaquin Murrieta. And he was indigenous not Spanish. The Spanish were too womanly to stand up to the devilish Anglo crooks
There’s a severe lack of swashbuckling comics this decade.
>>150747540Wasted on a comic with chaykin? As opposed to working on more tom king slop? Shut up.
>>150746305Great more fucking DEI sloppa, I'm so fatigued with this bullshit it's unreal.
>>150746305The way he drew that sword doesn't make sense, already not hopeful lel
Sigh, a tale as old as time, best we can do is keep screaming from the rooftop until these DEIfaggots understand GO WOKE GO BROKEGO WOKE GO BROKEGO WOKE, GO FUCKING BROKE!!
>>150748031>>150748073Fuck off, DEI tourist
>>150746971Its IDW. That what you wanna hear?
>>150748031>>150748073Were you retards lobotomized? El Zorro is white. Spanish is a European language
The modern day one sounds neat.
>>150748335>>150748383he's probably just trolling
I wonder how Batman feels about these.
>>150746971It involves the zorro production, they are notorious IP trolls. Despite Zorro already being public domain
>>150746305>All this new Zorro stuff>To this day there is no Zorro crossover with Batman, the one guy who was affected by the fox himselfYou know what? I did fantasize once over a crossover between Zorro, Batman and Scooby-Doo where the Mystery Inc. gang went to Los Angeles to look for clues on a case of a stolen book that was rumored to be magical, with Batman also doing a trip there because Zatanna informed him said book was a powerful necromantic artifact. The main big bad was a descendant of Monastario who wanted to take over Los Angeles in order to find his ancestor's hidden treasures he collected over the years in secrecy. All hell breaks over the place as undead and demons, all influenced by Mexican folklore, swarm over the city enslaving the people and turning the place into Monastario 2.0's private kingdom. Only the gang and Batman manage to escape but not for long until they are surrounded by the dead. However nobody, not even the big bad nor his minions predicted that the spell that rose the dead also brought back Zorro to the land of the living as a ghost made of shadows and mist (even his horse Tornado coming back as a shadow stallion that jumps out of any dark corner). Needless to say, Ghost Zorro curb-stomps the dead and demonic with his sword skills and cunning, both supercharged with new supernatural powers. Thus the Mystery Inc. gang, Batman and Zorro have to liberate Los Angeles and undo the spell that was cast. The craziest fight would be the big bad, possessed by a demonic wraith version of Monastario, engaging in a crazy sword duel with Batman that is empowered symbiotically by Zorro who is possessing him and uploading him with his own knowledge and experience.
>>150747984He was wasted on King too. And Chaykin is a hack.
cool.
>>150749212Chaykin was great at one point. King has never written a good comic.
>>150746305I don't support copyright trolls that try to keep exclusive rights to IPs that already entered public domain ages ago with frivolous lawsuits.
