He cannot do dramatic, soap operatic character dynamics because his characters are merely robots that exist to move along his plots. Just like how he was an awful fit for the X-Men (Claremont 100% cribbed from Bronze Age Legion in style at least while Cockrum was on the book), he would be an equally terrible fit for the Legion.

The characters look dull in their designs, expressions, etc. Everything that isn't a character is either a CG model (the plane) or a photo/Blender model with a filter over it. It's amazing how disgustingly bad comic art has gotten over the last 10-15 years.
