I guess they tried for the simplest genre they could think of to do Avatar and the hardest to mess up on a basic level.

Made by the same devs as Them Fighting Herds

I want to play as Ty Lee.

Atleast it isn't another shitty platform fighter.

Why?

She's not that important.

nta but they are over done and they cant seem to get them right
>>
>>150799482
The fall off of this franchise seriously needs to be studied.

Mike and Bryan will go in a textbook one day as definitive examples of killing you're own series to the point of it being milked to death
>>
next summer when they were only comfortable showing pre-alpha of 3 characters?
>>
>>150799482
Honestly doesn’t look bad at all, definitely wouldn’t pay full price for it but it looks like it would be fun to mess around with. Also 12 characters at launch is pretty low
>>
>>150802546
Where are you getting 12 characters?Legitimately asking.
>>
I'm surprised it's in 2d
>>
why is everything a fighting now. dont thwy see that this isnt making fighting games cool but making them stupid by dumbing them down to allow normies to play them
>>
>>150799482
Fighting games are one of the hardest game geners to make, they're incredibly complicated and require a ton of technical knowledge.
>>
>>150802719
>why is everything a fighting now.
they want the esports money

...well.

Sadly, the music won't be anywhere near as good as that game's was. Also, sex with Azula.

It's a "simple" (not really) genre and DBZF showed that all you need to actually succeed with normalfags is fancy cel shaded graphics no matter how bad and dumbed down the actual gameplay is. The genre's already gone to shit thanks to Slime Fighter Dix anyway.

technically easy to make and monetize
copy the basic game play formula people have been using for decades now, give characters safe well understood archtypes and then fill that fucker with as much DLC costumes as possible, occasionally dropping a $10 character every few months.
you can make people spend $200+ on a $30 game if monetized right.
>>
>>150802796
Making a good one is hard which is why nobody can make good ones anymore. Making a lazy half-assed one to slap your IP onto is incredibly easy which is why it's making a comeback from the glory days of the 16-bit era where every franchise had their own virtually unplayable fighting game.
>>
>ugly ArcSys visual style where characters slide around the the screen doing big autism combos as they repeat the same handful of moves that all have 3 choppy frames of animation while special effects fly all over the screen to assault your eyes

Because it's the third easiest possible genre to turn into a "service".
>only need to put in the absolute bare minimum for a Single Player mode
>people look forward to season passes and DLC more than the actual base game, meaning you can milk it for a long as you want
>Esports also serve as effortless advertising so long as the game isn't fundamentally broken
Only Hero Shooters and MOBA's beat it out on these fronts.
>>
I'm going to use this game to take revenge on all those who wronged Azula
>>
>>150807542
Shooters and MOBAs are infinitely harder to make than a fighting game because you have to make workable environments instead of just stage backgrounds. For MOBAs in particular, there’s a shitload of balancing you need to do at every single step.

So how will this be different from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl? And didn’t that game lose its entire playerbase in the span of a month?
>>

>So how will this be different from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl?
It'll last one week instead of a month.

Name 10 fighting games that came out this month
>>
>>150802609
it's in the launch trailer description and on the steam page.
>>
>>150807823
NASB was fundamentally broken. It was steered by absolute morons that had no idea what they were doing, who valued their OWN nostalgia and preferences over trying to appeal to an actual audience.
>>
>>150799482
>the hardest to mess up on a basic level.

"Let's make a fighting game, those are popular and probably easy to make!"- Every company that made the most absolute dogshit fighting games in the 90s.

I want Korra to beat me up
>>
>>150799482
Sprite-based fighting game in 2025? I thought only indies did that, and for obvious reasons. I should add that I didn't include Japanese games because most Japanese games since the early 2000s use 3D models to make sprites. You could even argue that it was earlier. It's not that the games are no longer sprite-based, but that's how they do it there. People here in the West who are tism with pixel art

okay but my Toph is gonna go crazy
