I'd actually like to see this. Pre-teen kid gets adopted, finds out Bruce is Batman, rejects the mantle of Robin for whatever reason (cowardice, wants to pursue something else), and we see how this relationship goes. Will Bruce sacrifice part of his time as Batman to actually be a father? Will the kid take the mantle of Robin just to be close to Bruce (while hurting themselves physically and mentally)?
Although I fear this couldn't be done in today's industry. The kid would be some ACAB Antifa stand-in, clamoring that Batman and Bruce are fascist etc.
