She's a weird-ass chimera of a symbiote and a human, because while she has a lot of symbiote traits she doesn't need a host and can walk around just fine, since part of her body is a bunch of Wade's cells. Nobody has explained why a symbiote using Wade's cells to build its own body would end up with a giant wolf-dog-hyena thing. I put it down to "Wade's just like that."
