I just hate how every story treats the spider bite as some awful burden that makes Peter's life miserable. So it makes maintaining a social life more difficult, boo-hoo. He's a genius-level Chad with superpowers that every girl wants to fuck, cry me a goddamn river

Originally, he was supposed to be a superhero with relatable issues, he is otherwise a classic superhero, though he had temper issues that kept him from socialising with other supes. But as other superheroes got inspired by Spider-man, he essentially got "gimmick crept" and so writers mutated "relatable issues" to "horrible life all around".

>poor, high school, adjusting to balancing being a hero and a student and finding work
>hated by the public and other heroes for being a short tempered newcomer
>get older
>still have money problems, enemies know more about you so they're harder to deal with
>crazier things outside of your usual stuff always messing things up like alien invasions or demons appearing all over

You're not Spider-Man. You wouldn't last a day as him.

It's forced drama all the way back since the Stan and Steve days.

He's not a chad. Never was. And yes, he is a genius, but only academically. His is not, nor has he ever been a social butterfly. He's a socially awkward shitter. Of course he's gonna have problems maintaining a social life even without being Spider-man.

true his entire life is a fantasy of thrills and high adventure its only bad sometimes when he tries to force himself into a normal life or a normal relationship but the entire reason the comic was so sucesful is because it is an awesome life to imagine having. Look at all the seething initial replies to this lmfao

Quit talking out your ass. Bro wasn't a geek like you. He just had an attitude problem.
>His is not, nor has he ever been a social butterfly. He's a socially awkward shitter
His temper was what screwed him over. Just because you're a socially awkward fuck doesn't mean Spidey's gotta be, okay? Even Marvel fucking thinks you're a loser for self inserting. >>150838388

He’s poor and doesn’t want to rob banks despite his mother figure having legitimate health issues that burden him further. It’s cheap soap opera story telling but he actively sabotages himself trying to do good as his double identity.

I hate so much the fact that Peter Parker was kidnapped by a bunch of retarded losers who only read BND-era and think Peter is a loser, cheerful, retarded, happy-go-lucky, Tom Holland-looking ass motherfucker.
>>
>>150837439
but anon, being Spider-Man DOES suck because Peter's defining problem is that if he fully devoted himself to either his civilian or cape role, he would be happy and fulfilled as either Peter Parker or as Spider-Man

but his guilt complex and inability to forgive himself over Uncle Ben's death results in Peter having to ALWAYS CHOOSE BOTH LIFESTYLES at the exact same time, resulting in this shitty cycle

>Peter neglects his civilian life to support himself as Spider-Man (crooks are caught, the people adore him, and Peter's guilt complex is kept in check) but this results in Peter's grades tanking, him being unable to keep a steady job, and him having relationship issues (Peter then over-corrects, pushing back his heroic duties)
>Peter neglects being Spider-Man to support himself as a civilian (Peter keeps a steady job, does well in school, and can be there for his girlfriend) but this results in crime rising and Peter's guilty conscience gnawing at the inside of his head and going "why aren't you doing anything, this is just like you being selfish, exactly like when Uncle Ben died" (Peter then over-corrects, undoing whatever gains he's made in his personal life)

No other Spider-knockoff is as convincing or as powerful as the original because every other Spider-hero wants all of the fun but none of the objective crappiness that comes with being Spider-Man. Peter Parker is Spider-Man because he isn't Spider-Man without the guilty conscience or the tragedy of Ben's death being indirectly his fault because he was selfish.

My guy, Pete was ready to give it up after Ben died. He only put the costume back on to help May with the bills.

Who has a harder life?
>>
>>150837439
Idc about the comics or new stories of him, to me he will always be peak heroism. I love spider man and I like to imagine if I gained powers I would be just as responsible (but I know damn well I won't be)

Ironically enough I'm reading a manga and the protag reminds me so much of spider man, with how his powers at first seem mediocre but because of his creativeness it becomes borderline fucking op, liking it so far
>>
>>150837439
No, I think you’re right, it’s become a meme about how hard his life is supposed to be
>>
>>150844945
Fanboys like to make him out to be some kind of Jesus when he was just a guy who fell into the hero role. Bro saved JJ's son because he thought it'd get him off his back. Becoming a proper hero was his arc. And he didn't trash talk to hide his fears, but because he's a fucking New Yorker. Dorks don't get that and try to invent some deeper reason for him being abrasive. The simple answer is that he's just like that.

daredevil always end up dead or a loser in AUs in alternative futures
>>
It's more like bullshit consistently happens to anyone Spiderman cares about.

Stories where people find out his identity and that kind of shit are 100% on Peter though. Kingpin is going after Aunt May? Well maybe you shouldn't have swung through her window in broad daylight then, shithead.

He doesn’t have a cape, retard. You could have said “tights” or even “spandex” but you want to fit in so badly in what you’ve built up in your mind as the “super secret cool 4chan club” that you feel like you HAVE to force a variation of the word “capeshit” in there. You are beyond pathetic.
>>
>>150844821
At some point you’d think he’d try just giving up on the Peter Parker aspect of his life, become Spider-Man full time and not bother with secret identity juggling.

Then came JMS and he turned Spidey into a trust fund self insert nerd fantasy who got to live with his heroes, fuck mj, get new powers out the ass, and then somehow still made him a pussy as bitch complaining about everything. Spidey deserve everything bad happening to him because he'll never be believable well written since hes more fortunate than other outcast heroes due to being white, smart and fucking hot bitches left and right without them trying to kill him back.

Pete's choices and morals make his life Hell.
Matt's life would've been Hell regardless, and oddly enough, most of the good parts of his life happen because of how hellish his upbringing was.

Anon he has done that several times and quickly realizes he cares a lot about the people in his life or that the Spider is needed just as much and that he needs to strike a balance

This. MJ asked Felicia how she lived so well when she runs with Peter and she flat out tells her its because of his morals when if he were just a bit looser about thing's he'd be better off.
