His ongoing is consistently out of the Top 200 and it is selling worse than the Green Arrow book DC cancelled. Is it only a matter of time before Barry Allen comes back?

Giving his kids powers and focus was a mistake

>>150844283
The mistake was giving him yet another baby.

Given Spurrier's Flash ended implying Wally returned his ring to Barry, I would say yes. Probably a new #1 next year given Bleeding Cool reported DC will relaunch a lot of series after the success of Batman #1 with blind bags.

They will probably throw Wally in the Titans again or something.

Agreed.

People don't get this, but Wally becoming Flash was the way DC "rebooted" Flash after COIE the same way Byrne rebooted Superman or Perez Wonder Woman. The idea was that Wally was more of a jerk (but more relatable) who had to overcome the struggle of taking the place of his mentor.

This story engine was fine, and lasted a long time, but it had ran out of steam by the mid-2000s. So DiDio was looking to reinvent the Flash book, first by making Bart Flash (didn't work), then by giving the book back to Mark Waid (he left the moment didn't go his way) before he caved in and accepted Johns/EVS' pitch to do a Green Lantern: Rebirth but with Flash (he used to mock Barry fans the same way he later did Wally up until 2008).

While Johns' Flash reboot didn't have the same impact as Green Lantern: Rebirth it was pretty successful at creating a lasting status quo for Flash by making him younger, focusing on him being a forensic scientist, on Reverse Flash, on Iris, etc. it was basically the basis for Manapul/Venditti/Williamson's runs and the CW show which were pretty mediocre but sold pretty well.

The thing is that DC got rid of Barry again for basically no reason (other than maybe caving in to the loud Wally West fans online). Adams turned the book into basically what Spider-Man fans claim they want for Peter, while Spurrier tried to do a Immortal Hulk/Moore's Swamp Thing until he realized he wasn't going to pull it off and pivoted to focusing on the family again which just created a weird Frankenstein monster.

I couldn't tell you what's happening in Flash books lately. I think what we've learned is that people want Barry, and the stuff liked in Johns run was The Rogues

I know what you're talking about, but it's 100% Spurrier's fault for trying to write in an pretentious way, imitating a writer (Al Ewing) who is mediocre. If Adams hadn't left the book and it followed after One-Minute War, I bet Flash would be a top seller.

Wally West and John Stewart "fans" and are just Batman fans wearing a mask. Just put them on JL so they can play their roles as Batman's crew and leave the Flash and GL titles to Barry and Hal. The other GLs should be in a GL Corps book with multiple stories in it and Jay should be in JSA.

Wonder how Wolfman's pitch with Mackenzie Ryan would've gone in place of Wally

But OMW was terrible

Flash is just a bad IP.

We don't know about sales since 2018, everything is speculation.
Also Spurrier said the book was selling well , so probably sold enough to end his 2 years plan and give It the book to Waid (which is not going to stop using Wally)

No, let Barry story end with a Happy ending.
He beat reverse flash, he got a Page that told that is not tragedy that made a Hero, and let Wally story continue while he is searching the multiverse , be a good husband and sometimes beat a guy.
People shit on comics never ending but when some character get a conclusion they cry

gotta feed the pedos bro its why robins first incarnation needed panties
>>150846070
fuck conclusions nobody reads these for the plot bring back blondie sneedster for a few more kino panels

Waid/Cantwell is just a temporal creative team for the DC KO tie-ins. They are not staying in the book (well, maybe Cantwell is but certainly not Waid).

Run out of steam?
Wally was the flash and was the face of a reinvigorated brand. Idiot just burned the entire workd to the ground d for movie synergy.

How's Absolute Flash doing?

>>150853156
Look man, I was fine with his two other kids, they should've just focused on those, not adding another one.
