Where Rogue is...in two different places at the same time?Comics in this thread:>Unbreakable X-Men #1>Rogue Storm #1>Sinister's Six #1>Iron & Frost #1
Bump if you're reading. Before we begin: I managed to pull a couple of strings and got my pass renewed. Last week was a pretty great showcase in why having the pass is outright necessary when you're storytiming. And at the end of the day, I don't have the time or energy to babysit the autoposter and constantly deal with the dumb captcha and (You) don't want to spend hours to wait for a comic to be posted.
>The new Spider-Girl has joined the X-Men in the futureCan't tell if this is just Simone doing the "team line-up has heavily changed in the alternate timeline" trope or if she has actual plans to feature her in Uncanny.>"Why target us, Rogue? Why not [...] whatever the hell is left of the Fantastic Four these days?"Yeah, about that....
Why is Galactus interested in Shuvahrak out of all things?
>"The cure would be worse than the disease."...who the actual hell are you, and why are you a Sentinel?
>"An' there's the baby."The what
>"I seek a new herald."And you're going for Shuvahrak? Buddy, you can do be->"[Chelsea]. I will have her."Nevermind then. Let me guess, you want her because she's (heavily implied to be) the Endling.
>Sentinel Boy also diedThe hell was the point of introducing him if he only lasted for 10 pages?
>Rogue became a statue by absorbing the cosmic energieswat
>>150845763Wow, he almost lasted ten whole pages
While Gambit is moping here, I guess we can also talk about the X-Men NYCC panel from a few days ago. >Adjectiveless X-Men, Uncanny X-Men and Wolverine are continuing with no relaunches. Everyone kind of knew that was happening.>Tony Daniel is back at Marvel and is drawing Adjectiveless X-Men #23-25. Sort of a surprising return given how long it's been since he last did the interiors for a Marvel book. Will they try to get him to write and draw a book? Maybe, who knows.>Inglorious X-Force ongoing: Might do better than the last attempt at X-Force? Seeley is an okay writer, but doing another X-Force run centured around "the team leader is getting visions of catastrophies" is rather tiresome at this point. Also, didn't Weapon X-Men state that Cable couldn't currently travel through time and was stuck in the present?>Rogue mini: Eh. Yeah, I get that people have been asking for a Rogue solo now since they're the leader of their X-Men, but I don't have much faith in the writer.>Magik & Colossus mini: Why is this a miniseries? The Magik ongoing was reportedly one of the better selling FTA titles. To not only replace it with a stand-alone miniseries (despite there being a massive loose plotline left in her ongoing) is such a weird choice. >Wade Wilson, Deadpool ongoing: Not really feeling this? Sure it's a great creative team, but Percy's writing of Wade wasn't that good in both X-Force and Wolverine, while Deadpool/Wolverine focused so much more on Logan and Apocalypse to the point that it felt like Wade was just tacked on at the last second because Marvel needed an ongoing comic with them following the success of the movie. I also really hope that he stops writing for the trade and does the arc structure that he had when writing X-Force and Wolverine.
>Cyclops mini: Replace the instance of "Rogue" in my reaction to the Rogue mini with "Cyclops", and you have my reaction to this mini.>Generation X-23: Corny mash-up name aside, this one seems okay. Creative team seems alright, but I really can't help but feel like the comic is a response to how people complained that LK: Wolverine didn't involve a lot of the stuff from Laura's previous comics until the very end. Also not a big fan of introducing more new characters, but whatever gets people interested in picking up the titles, I guess.>Storm, Earth's Mightiest Mutant ongoing: More of the same stuff that we were plagued with last time. Ayodele has stated that this is going to focus more on Storm and not Eternity, which is welcome given how much page time Eternity ended up taking. Now if he only stopped making unnecessary flashbacks and featuring pointless B-plots and detours, we could have ourselves a decent comic. >Exceptional X-Men is confirmed to be getting a relaunch. Because of the SoT teaser image being an homage to the cover of Avengers: The Initiative #1 was "not a coincidence", it's speculated that this will be the new school book that was teased to be happening following X-Manhunt. If that really is the case, Eve Ewing really needs to switch her writing style away from how she approached Exceptional, given how long it took for that series to have the Exceptional kids fight a villain.>Surprisingly, no one decided to mess with Brevoort regarding the whole AI Substack fiasco during the Q&A.Overall? Much better than the SDCC panel. But Marvel's entire output at NYCC was pretty lacking all things considered. Not because they weren't awful...but because they weren't good enough. Also, fucking LMAO at the Psylocke: Ninja announcement. Things are really fucking bad when everyone could immediately tell why they didn't choose to announce that until after NYCC was over.Alright, back to the comic.
Galactus is sleeping...
uh-oh
>"It's Clay Correra. Ransom and Temper's li'l one."Wait, what? How old is this kid?
>>150845741Not muh spider-girl
Miss Henrietta is back again following her last appearance in Uncanny #13-16.
Suddenly, zombies
>The Sentinel Dog is still with themHuh.
And now for Rogue Storm.
X years ago, Storm got caught in a game between the abstract entities that resulted in her becoming the host body for Eternity and going to war with Hadad, alledgedly the first storm god. But X years later, she is the last of Earth's gods...and she's causing the coming of a new Ice Age. What drove her into madness? And how can there still be a Rogue existing if Rogue died in Unbreakable X-Men?
>AkujinWho?
>"Five years into the Age of Revelation."Huh? Why is this set 5 years into the future and not 10 years like the other titles? Is it so that Rogue can be featured here?>"Our world was once home of the greatest god to have ever lived."Look, I like Storm too. But "the greatest god to have ever lived"? Lol no, she still has ways to go.
>First gets the Wonderdome>Now the Fortress of SolitudeStorm is getting a Batcave next.
Alright, there's Rogue. And she's riding on some...okay, I have no idea what those creatures are.
>>150845852Which Bionicles are these?
Whatever these creatures are, they really love war.
>"We're the Uncanny X-Force."After Ayodele had Doom talk about the "mutant metaphor" as if it existed in-universe, I really wouldn't be surprised if "uncanny" was actually a part of the team name.
>Gateway already deadDidn't take long for that to happen.
>"You haven't her power, Rogue. You're not Rogue Green."...what?
Okay, now we get an answer.>2 years from now, Rogue gets split into two different people by the CollectorOh I get it, it's like Superman Red/Superman Blue.
>Moon Girl made an alloy that combines the proporties of adamantium, vibranium and mysteriumwat
Okay, now the comic is set 10 years later like the other tie-ins.And finally, Storm rides a War Hippo.
You made her mad now.
And now for Sinister's Six.
X years ago, Sinister was back to his old tricks again and successfully acquired the DNA of hundreds of thousands of mutants with the help of the lifestyle app Verate. But X years later, he has acquired his own strike force! Why have these people decided to work with him? And how long before Sinister decides to fuck them over?
Oh, and this is written by Dave Marquez, the main artist of Uncanny X-Men.
>"Misty Knight and Colleen Wing, Heroes For Hire, living up to our name."No, you two are Daughters of the Dragon. Come on man.
Black Cat is all fur now.
Marvel put too much faith on Mackay when he works better as a solo books(just the same he did with Aaron and Bendis), I think Gillen on Avengers would be better if you want at least Jed in one team book. Also , repeating even the 90s stories is getting worse. At this point I can see Mackay redoing the 90s Avengers and Xmen crossover again
>"They are not food."Says the cannibal.
Suddenly, VenomWonder if the symbiote got itself a new host over the years.
Venom has been captured, mission accomplished.
Rate his base
Wait, Havok also has a son? Who's the mother, Polaris?
>>150845993Oh, hey, that's the one Magneto used for totally-not-fetishistic revenge, right?
Not really much of a last page reveal here, since we have already read Amazing X-Men.
And now for Iron & Frost.
>>150845922Feels weird to just ape a Spider-Man name and not have him involved. I guess Black Cat and Venom are there at least
X years ago, Emma ended her short fling with Tony Stark and returned to teaching a new generation of mutants. But X years later, she finds herself back in the ruins of New York, in search of something important to her. What is she searching for? And whatever happened to Iron Man?
I think you guys are already aware who Marrow is, but as for the others:>https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Christian_Cord_(Earth-616)>https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Carmella_Unuscione_(Earth-616)
oof
>Emma is killOh well, I guess the tie-in is already ov- oh right, this is a flashback.
>>150845895>combines three bs metals to make a stronger bs alloy
>The kid's mutant powers caused the ground under the mansion to collapseThanks a lot kid.
>Emma survived by becoming diamondToo bad that you can't use your telepathy ever again, but rather that than to die, right?
>he thinks she's deadnyooooo
>"Once I surfaced, I spent years, moving west, trying to find any of my X-Men...but to no avail, I was alone (but you can find where they are by reading Expatriate X-Men #1 in two weeks from now)."Thanks Emma
Hey, the mansion is still there. Sadly it's been taken over by the Hellfire Club (who for some reason are still active in the Revelation Territories).
What the hell, why are you still here?
He's truly an Iron Man now. Or, sorry, Iron King.
checklist
And that was Week 2 of Age of Revelation tie-ins.Next week: X-Men: Book of Revelation #1, Omega Kids #1, The Last Wolverine #1, Radioactive Spider-Man #1.And that's it! If you liked these, support your LCS or whatever.
After seeing so many new X-Men related solo runs and minis announced I'm really confused why Gambit didn't have one announced alongside the others, his solos are always great and seem to sell well
>>150846136Gambit has now been relegated to Rogue's sidekick. He's not allowed to exist without her
>>150845847>>150845852>>150845852These pages are just so funny, the only people that worshipped Storm like a goddess were from her tribe in Kenya, nobody else did it. That hack of a writer really is trying to make it look like Storm was always some central character to Earth

If there was an overarching theme to this week's collection of X-Books, it would be trying to have it both ways...Rather serendipitous given the post-NYCC announcement of Psylocke Ninja
>>150845792>Implying Eternity was the problem with Storm's bookhonestly got better when storm wasn't on screen
>>150846633Of course Yoshida-San wants more of the yellowface era, even though you think Marvel would want to double down on Kwannon given that NetEase went with her when it came to Psylocke's appearance in Rivals
>>150846985Isn't Rivels Pylocke Sai from Demon Days rather than Kwannon?
>>150845767He's probably going to appear in the main title and this was just a glimpse of him
>>150846956Eternity and the whole abstracts plot is the problem of the book, they end up taking too much page time when the main focus should be the title characterStorm fighting other storm gods should be a very simple plot, but because Ayodele desperately needs to inject his failed G.O.D.S. project stuff it ends up making the story too complicated for its own goodAnd the man can't fucking write abstracts, he has Oblivion and Infinity fucking job and might have written one of the worst versions of TOBA (even PKJ's version was better)

>>150845994I just don't believe these characters would work with Sinister. Ever. Under any circumstances given everything that transpired not very long ago in their universe. Especially not true heroes like Domino and Havok. So that leaves only the brainwashing/clone explanations. And that's just so boring and overdone.
Didn't care much for most of these, although Rogue Storm has nice art and I am interested in seeing how Sinister screws everyone over.
>>150857053The book explains the circumstances. They're dying, he's promising a cure.
>>150857303The circumstances and the stakes don't matter. It's Sinister. It should be a hard no at this point. The man tried to take over reality itself, and was only defeated by bringing cosmic forces to bear. They should be trying to kill him on sight. The idea that he's even alive should be enough to put Revelation and any concerns about him on the back burner.
>>150857510Also yes technically it wasn't specifically Sinister himself that was Enigma, but it might as well have been, and would have been if the original Essex hadn't gotten there first.

>>150859779However bad X-Plague can be, Sinister is worse. He is one of, perhaps the most, truly evil characters in all of Marvel. There is no situation where working with him helps you.
>>150859820Well in Havoc's defense, he did work under Sinister for a while and did kinda lead him to having Madelyne back so he might think its not gonna be all bad. For Domino yeah, she's one who shouldn't really be trusting him. Also how does her powers work with Black Cat being on the same team? Do the bad luck and good luck powers cancel out or kinda amplify each other if they have the same goal.
>>150858859Yeah but he's been moved rather abruptly away from being, well, sinister and is firmly in "quirky gay uncle" territory. Which was funny for a while but not exactly intimidating or even someone I want to see as often as we see him. He should be much creepier
