Allowing all the other books to just show the world morally was really the nail in the coffin. It should have been every book taking part had 4 issues of doom, and back to normal with the main book wrapping up around the same time. Hell, the Spiderman tie-in ended before the main book even started.

"40 Million Men, Women, and Children you were pledged to protect, who boosted your ego day after day" is one hell of a sacrifice. "40 Million Life Model Decoys" is not."40 Million Hitlers" is also not much of a sacrifice in terms of SACRIFICING something, cool as it would be to watch them burn.
