You guys reckon anybody who actually writes comics has ever posted here?

The overwhelming "thing" about 4chan is that we're all anonymous here. ANYBODY could be behind any given post. And unless you're on a board with post IDs like /pol/ or /biz/, you can't even be sure if you're not just replying to one guy over and over. Not since they removed the poster counter.

In light of this, is it possible we've ever shared the board with some of the big guns of comics? Do you think Morrison has ever posted here? Or Ennis? Or Millar? Or even some of the oldfags that we know go online, like Byrne?
>>
>>150899176
It'd have to be one of the new guard but I could also totally see Hickman posting here
>>
>>150899176
Not Ennis, he doesn't even have social media
>>
>>150899203
This, Ed Piskor too probably
>>
>>150899176
Byrne may have stopped by to see what this place is all about but he has his own board
>>
>>150899176
It's entirely possible Bryan Edward Hill has at least lurked here once, he probably dug through /pol/ a bit while he was writing American Carnage and I could definitely see him checking out this board out of curiosity and amusement

why is it Morrisonfags never use a photo from this century? he's fucking 65 OP

I think Greg Land posted here once where he was defending his notorious habit of tracing photos for the comics he works on. He didn't say it was him outright, but it was pretty obvious given he specified that he was a comics artist with a reputation for tracing. I don't think it was someone impersonating him because Greg doesn't really post on social media all that much, and I doubt that he has any diehard fans who would LARP as him.

I can understand tracing photos to meet deadlines, especially since he has a family to care for. But why trace porn????

I feel like Slott Lurks here
>>
>>150899897
yeah we used to get artists here, nobody huge that I recall but a few showed up back when drawthreads were worth it

>>150899176
Steve somebody used to post here, storytimed his own stuff (again, so long ago that I think there wasn't even a delay between posts, or it was still the original 30s timer)

seemed pretty chill

a not at all chill Hickmanfag makes threads sometimes that I am almost certain is actually Hickman

>>
>>150899945
It's been well documented that Slott posts here.
>>
>>150899985
Let's be honest, his non-binary identity is part of his whole "ascend past humanity and become a god" fixation. If you've read the kind of occult books he dabbles in, there's a notion that part of ascending to godhood is to encompass traits both male and female, be bisexual, et cetera.

>>150899176
A lot of people were confirmed to post here.
Here's a list years ago so I'll repost it here:

>Brandon Graham (even posted here under his name)
>James Stokoe (he posted previews of his work here)
>Steve Lieber (his book Underground got a boost when he posted here)
>Priest (knows of this place, at least)
>Bendis (knows of this place, but I have reason to believe he at least reads here)
>Warren Ellis (has mentioned going here in the past, but I wouldn't be surprised if he still does)
>Cameron Stewart (he and Nathan Fairbairn were talking about the Pax Americana storytime on /co/ where the pages were rearranged in different orders)
>Nathan Fairbairn
>Leah Williams
>Dan Slott (probably still goes here but denies it for obvious reasons)
>Lauren Faust
>Rebecca Sugar
>Ian Jones-Quartey
>Alex Hirsch
>Some people from Spumco
>Other people who've worked on Adventure Time and Steven Universe
>Bob Weber Jr (the Slylock Fox guy, also did a drawing of one of his characters wearing the I'm Bad News shirt from Heathcliff)
>Chris Haley (the guy who did the art for Let's Be Friends Again)
>Josh Trank (the media publicly denied it, and they claimed the image he posted was shooped, but there was way too many things lining up that made it very likely it was him)
>Rich Johnston (sometimes uses stuff from here for Bleeding Cool)
>EVS
>Maxwell Atoms
>Natasha Allegri
>Justin Roiland

Possibly goes here:
>Geoff Johns
>Tucker Stone
>John Kricfalusi
>Chris Sims
>Noah Berlatsky
>David Uzumeri

Another poster added:

>Juni Ba (active user here, now draws comics professionally for Image, DC and more)
>Chip Zdarsky (posted on Twitter screenshots of him namesearching himself in the archive)
>A recent artist on the IDW Sonic comic - forget their name but it was a triple-barrel one
>Giannis Milonogiannis (posted in one of the Prophet threads briefly with the other guys IIRC)

Another person pointed to Kurt Busiek as someone aware of some threads.

I mean, I'd do the same thing. Hell, I already DO do the same thing, kind of, since I've written fanfiction in the past and when we have threads that discuss fanfics I'll shamelessly talk about and link to my own fics as an Anon. One of the things you learn as an artist is that if you want people to discuss your work a certain amount of shilling is necessary, that is unless you've passed a certain threshold of fame.

>is it possible we've ever shared the board with some of the big guns of comics?

I could care less.

If a unemployed busboy writes a awesome post it's still awesome. As far as i am concerned even if you are a comic book pro, if your posts suck, you suck.

So for me, I don't give a flying fuck who you are or what you do, I judge your awesomeness on your posts.

I don't care if movie stars post here, I don't care is comic book pros post here. It changes nothing for me, so it does not cross my mind.
>>
>>150899176
Probably, kinda hard to say tho because 10 years ago most notable writers would've been too old for internet shit, and the zoomies in the writers room today are either terrified of being associated with 4chan or simply don't care because both the board and site as a whole are well past it's prime
>>
>>150904919
>>150905105

Dumas usually whines and ragequits as far as I've seen him on other boards, I don't think a argument between him and Johns would really go on long enough for it to be entertaining.
>>
Comic writers? No, especially not the old guys. We definitely get a lot of animators and show runners tho. Not even that sneaky about it, trailers get posted here with in minutes of it going live on youtube
>>
>>150905642
You're really slowpoking here
>>
>>150905609
Hm yeah, he's a rather lame troll then. Gone are the days of guys like Herald who could get Didio's goat in such a petty way to where Didio writes him as a complainy gay fashion designer named "Harold Winer" in Outsiders and show his own sore loser ways.
>>
>>150905688
Basically with Dumas it goes like
1. whine about Johns or Morrison or whatever
2. flip out when someone suggests something or likes something he doesn't like
3. ragequits and goes to some other board to complain

One time he went onto Hooded Utilitarian, took a shot at Berlatsky for writing something he didn't like (knowing that Berlatsky usually writes to enflame people, it might've even been justified in this case), then went over to Comicon boards to complain about it, forgetting that he posted under something like his real name on Hooded Utilitarian.
>>
>>150901495
>Rich Johnston (sometimes uses stuff from here for Bleeding Cool)
I actually once made a fake DC leak he actually posted on Bleeding Cool. He said it was fake though, so it must have been a slow news day.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Scott Snyder. The guy 100% namesearches himself on Twitter and even responds to criticism on people's DMs. I would be surprised if he was never here.
>>
Deniz Camp used to be pretty active in the CBR DC Comics Board before he started writing comics. I actually talked to him a few times. So he probably posted on 4chan as well.

I actually think a lot of the more recent comic pros likely posted here a few times. Probably not guys like Morrison or Ennis or Millar though.

>or simply don't care because both the board and site as a whole are well past it's prime

Where do people even post instead, any more? I guess Twitter, BlueSky if you're a lib. But what if you want to say something totally anonymously? I don't understand people who don't see the appeal of this site, I can basically say almost whatever I want about whatever I like, as long as I'm on the right board. This site basically functions as a release valve for me, I get to get stuff off my chest I'd never say IRL or with an account linked to my name or email address. I'd go crazy if I had to constantly police ALL my speech online because it was associated with accounts I owned.

>>
>>150901495
I'm near certain that Snyder and Capullo did/do post here. Especially after New 52 Batman ended.

Dan Slott being here was never a surprise to me. He's always been a whore for the attention, and I think as a person he needs to be around people that talk about him. It's a weird validation thing for him. You can very clearly see the tiny pivots in stories he's been responsible for, like he was reacting issue by issue from tumblr and twitter posts, here and reddit. He has a fascination with being subversive and trying to be the M Night Shamalan of comic books.

Twitter is the artists hub. People are trying to make bluesky a thing but it's core audience is cannibalizing so a lot of artists are quietly leaving because they can't make a single post without at least one raging retard trying to mass flag them
>>
>>150905906
Morrison and Millar I could see possibly doing it but on rare occasions. Ennis though based on what he said in the interview with Millar about how he felt about the internet in the 90s, would probably look at this place, chuckle a little and then quickly realize it's not for him because it'd still fall into the same issues he has with the internet even as far back into the 90s where you have dunning-kruger people insisting they know what's right

I definitely think it was people from Twitter and Facebook whatever other places came in to here. They won't ever dare admit they were part of the problem, because they'll either clam up about it or beg people to stop talking about it, or double down (ie Alex De Campi, Jon Del Arroz, etc)

And don't get me started on the people on twitter posting about how mental health is important and posting the suicide hotline and then going back to shitting on him. One of them still had ties to Noah Berlatsky.
