Right here we go from the start with a Stoytime of the very frist X-Men stories bump if you are reading and a fan.
Bumping n reading
Why are they so terrible bros, why is magneto an absolute giga faggot
>>150902599>Why are they so terrible brosThis is basically peak X-Men.>why is magneto an absolute giga faggotAlways was. He keeps trying to gaslight people into thinking they're his kids to cover up his gayness for Xavier.
>>150902264Bump. Have a PDF of the entire Uncanny X-men
>>150902689>the entire Uncanny X-menIt's best to stop when it goes to reprints.
>>150902408>That first panelOh the unintended consequences
>>150902784so uh when did they decide to make everyone racist against the x-men.
>>150903214It's actually a main topic in most X-men series. Mutants are not people
>>150903275This a important moment since it revels Xavier is secretly in love with Jean.
>>150902273>Cyke in the background THIS IS THE FAMOUS LEADER OF THE X-MEN?! KEKAROOOOAlso did Bobby evaporate his ice pole when he came down or is he just doing a stripper dance next to Chuck while he sits there awkwardly?>>150902369Beast is basically The Thing of the group right now. I dunno how quickly he turns smart but I'm glad that happened.>>150902382Chuck already horny. Also kek, Bobby this is a 1960's race allegory you can't use that expression! My mugga, we ain't in the fields anymore.>>150902408>Ha ha, get it? He's frigid and cold so he's not as hot for the ladies right now because he's young! And that's the only reason!Walter Jenkins happened only like a year later from this issue, kek. Also extra-power? I mean I knew that but it always amused me. I thought it was because of x just meaning mystery like a variable in math.>>150902433Has Jean ever called him slim again? That'd be a cute moment.>>150902562>poured into that uniformHmm that's how I'll describe women with bodypaint from now on. I know it's a basic uniform but the classic ones are cool. Jean's cute.>>150902595What's this? Soldiers not immediately shooting at them?
>>150903398>Beast is basically The Thing of the group right now. I dunno how quickly he turns smart but I'm glad that happenedIt was fairly fast.
>>150902264Are you intended to do every X-Men comic ala Magister and his Spider-Man storytimes? I remember an anon trying this a long time ago (like at least a dozen years if not longer) but eventually stopping some time in the early '90s.And if so, by chronological do you mean publication order or where comics would fit in the timeline? Because publication would be better IMO.
>>150902264This is the 2nd time I've seen someone try to storytime the complete X-men, I think the last guy did get to the end. Same with Power Man & Iron Fist. Spiderman has been on and off, but it's now post-clone saga. Good luck anon.
>>150903481Beast is the smart guy but he's sort of a Generic Silver Age Smart Guy. He really doesn't become the Beast everyone knows in terms of personality (jovial, witty, eloquent and laidback) until Englehart starts writing him as an erudite stoner in Amazing Adventures and Avengers.
>>150903829One panel and Wanda's already tired of Pietro's schtick.
>>150903893Yes, it is funny how both he and Wanda and Pietro still had a career after the end of the original run.
>>150903854>Are you intended to do every X-Men comic ala Magister and his Spider-Man storytimes? I remember an anon trying this a long time ago (like at least a dozen years if not longer) but eventually stopping some time in the early '90s.I Will do the best I can and and I will TRY to storytime all of them, but I don't promise I can do it for sure. I will see how it goes>And if so, by chronological do you mean publication order or where comics would fit in the timeline? Because publication would be better IMO.I am definitely doing this by publication, since I find it a bit too confusing trying too fit the comics in the appropriate timeline. I honestly recommend reading X-Men in publication order.
>>150904173Wanda and Quicksilver were presumably because Stan just wanted some villains for the Cap's Kooky Quartet and they worked well enough since they were just kind of there, had the draw of being sibligs, Wanda was a pretty girl and Pietro had the abrasive personality.Beast was simply because Marvel was starting to have success with horror comics and specifically Werewolf by Night so Roy wanted to do a "smart guy's experiements turn him into a monster" story and presumably chose Hank because he'd spent a long time writing the X-Men. The one issue of that run Conway wrote is pretty obviousy intended to be a horror style comic and Englehart kind of half-heartedly keeps it up before stopping.>>150904518Yeah, publication is definitely the preferred method I think and should always be how it's done for any comic. Will you attempt any of the spinoff stuff i.e. the Hank Amazing Adventures run or something like the Champions? I would imagine things like Hank in the Avengers or Hank/Bobby/Warren in Defenders is out of the question.
>>150904988That is a pretty fucking awesome weapon.
The original 5 line up is lame
Truthfully, I think that Silver Age X-Men gets overly hated on. I don't think the Stan/Jack stuff is that great but I like Thomas' first run better even if it's a bit generic Silver Age superhero. Once you get to Drake's short run and the introduction of Polaris and Havok, the quality skyrockets and the Thomas/Adams run is genuinely great, enjoyable Silver Age comics. It takes the Claremont run a bit to find its footing and it's not until Byrne comes on and IMO specifically around the time of Moses Magnum that it starts to become great.
>>150904298Paul Reinman isn't held up as one of the greatest Kirby inkers like Joe Sinnott, but damn, that Cyclops is fantastic. Feels like the Genesis of the way Mike Allred and Steve Rude ape Kirby's style.
>>150903429What the fuck? They just try and bully the Blob into joining the X-Men?
>>150903230>Scott, you are probably the most powerful of all my X-Men!Even if it's arguably true at the moment, it feels weird to see.
>>150904637>Yeah, publication is definitely the preferred method I think and should always be how it's done for any comic. Will you attempt any of the spinoff stuff i.e. the Hank Amazing Adventures run or something like the Champions? I would imagine things like Hank in the Avengers or Hank/Bobby/Warren in Defenders is out of the question.I will storytime Hank Amazing Adventures for sure since I find This anthology title featured the transformation of The Beast from plain old big-footed guy to his familiar blue-furred appearance rather essnational to X-Men history,
>>150905397I wish the digital versions would include the letters pages because from what I've seen of transcriptions of them, they actually give a hint as to why Wanda and Pietro were picked for the Avengers: they were popular. The fans reading the book loved them and seemingly found them to be the most interesting part of the book and wanted to see them either join the X-Men or be spun off into their own features. So in that respect, them joining the Avengers actually makes sense. The Kooky Quartet comic was Cap leading reformed villains and if the Maximoff siblings were popular then putting them in the book might help draw in fans to an otherwise radical roster shift. On the other hand, it's a missed opportunity because having them join the X-Men might have given a boost to that book and you now suddenly have two women on the team to compete for male (character and reader) attention and a hothead like Quicksilver to bounce off the more straightlaced characters.
>>150906547Also here's a few examples of what I mean from a CBR thread for letters from X-Men #6 and #8.>Three cheers for Marvel for coming up with a brand new super-hero! Even though you don't know it, I think, as do many of my fellow Marvel fans, that Quicksilver and his sister the Scarlet Witch should be placed in the X-Men or in their own book. Quicksilver is about the most exciting hero I've seen since Spider-Man made his entry in the Marvel Age of Comics. Even though he and the Scarlet Witch are cast as villains, I'm sure that many readers would like to see them in a better light. So go to it, Marvel- take a poll and see if I'm right or not. I'm sure that Quicksilver will be as daring as Daredevil will ever be and that the Scarlet Witch will be as smart as Marvel Girl. >Though I am a housewife I love to read the X-Men. Your idea of the Evil Mutants is wonderful! It would be nice if, eventually, Quicksilver and his sister the Scarlet Witch could turn good and help the X-Men (if not join them), since these two don't seem really so terrible. There are mutants in our present world, I know. Anything concerning them interests me greatly. Keep your marvelous comics coming! >Marvel's Magnificant Mutants must by now be acknowledged as the apex of years of cumulative artistic endeavor. They have reached the pinnacle- they are the greatest! However, there is still room for some picayune piddling details to be mentioned by ne, Imprimo: Marvel Girl's new hair style is inferior to her former coiffure. While her new mask is an improvement she apparently bedraggles her russet tresses each time she puts it on. Secundo: Quicksilver and the beautiful Scarlet Witch are marvelous but they shouldn't join the X-Men. They should be featured in other stories and mags, however, in the same manner as Namor is guest starred. I suggest a meta-physical duel with Dr. Strange for a starter.
>>150906650>I just got finished reading X-MEN #6 and think it is tops. The cover is the best by far and I loved the Cyclops pin-up page! I enjoyed your humanlike parts like those that were on pages 1 and 2. I think Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch should help the X-Men against Magneto but not join the X-Men. I'm also for having the X-men monthly and having an X-MEN Annual.>I'd like to put my vote in your poll about Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch turning good. I think you should keep them just as they are. Now get me straight- at the moment they're not all good. After all, they are fighting the X-Men with the Evil Mutants. Then they're certainly not all bad. Their hearts aren't in it for one thing. They're never goody-goody types, and Quicksilver hates Magneto. Marvel mags are known for their realism. People aren't all good or all bad. There will always be some creep like Magneto who takes advantage of people's sense of justice and who'll make people pay many times over for a favor owed him. So keep Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch coming- keep the Evil Mutants coming- keep Marvel realism coming!
OP here Right that's all will Storytime more in the future maybe I will do it this monday
First two chapters and they spend more time fighting each other than the evil mutants.
>>150907002The appeal of Silver Age Marvel was the more relatively realistic character who would do things like bicker and fight like normal people unlike those boring cardboard cutouts at DC.
Thank god for Roy Thomas. These comics fucking suck balls. >>150902634>peak X-Men KEK you have shit taste
>>150907210>KEK you have shit tasteAt least he's not glazing Krakoa because it fulfills his weird LGBT hippie utopia fantasies.
>>150907249I don’t read modern X-Men so I don’t know anything about Krakoa
>>150907282Do you want to see the X-Men turned into Israel, including the AIPAC shit, while everyone is written as OOC, sex-obsessed, gay or possibly gay or in polyamorous relationships and retards on social media declare it the greatest thing ever? If so, then you'd love Krakoa.
>>150902264thanks anon.
>>150907304Sounds stupid
>people are unironically posting in a Gwenschizo thread instead of fucking laughing at him
>>150907340He's being nice in this thread.
>>150905462I think they realized he wasn't joining so they wanted to humble him down so he doesn't join the bad guys.
>>150902328This looks safe
>>150903462Gool old Beast, not denying the result of a field test.
>>150903479I like how they call him "The Blob" not just plainly "Blob".
>>150903514Is this a Looney Tunes sequence?
>>150907487>leave the pedo alone!! Fuck off, you're a part of the problem.
>>150903700>And this is why the X-Men hate going to the circus...
>>150902797>I feel faint.Ah yes, the classic Stan Lee Female Character Debuff.
>>150903910Their origin does not get better than this
>>150903874>"What is this POWER he has??">"It's magnetism I ain't gotta explains shit!"
>>150904055>>150904083Weird that Magneto of all people would have soldiers dressed like that.
>>150903579A FUCKING CIRCUS
>>150904145>The ice is revivingFunny, the drawing make Slim looks like he had the worst awakening ever
>>150904715Wanda, girl, Magneto almost nuked a country.
>>150904964>Except for the powers, we're no different from ordinary homo sapiensWow, I feel like a lot of people forgot about this.
>>150905306>Namor's weakness :>He is a massive simpKek
>>150905362yeah one thing people gloss over with the claremont era is that it has a ton of goofy silver age bullshit deep into its run, and that's ignoring the main cosmic shi'ar stuff that's weird enough by itself. The first bit of decent human mutant storytelling doesn't happen until days of future past and magneto doesn't get any good development until really God Loves Man Kills, 5 and 7 years into the run respectively.
Its weird I always forget Jack Freaking Kirby was the original X-Artist.I think the only people I've seen homage his art in X-books have been Bruce Timm and Darwin Cooke.
>>150905485I am not sure Homo Superior is correct...
>>150910875It is the original x-men, giant size was what made them a thing
>>150905514Remember, Wanda is a teen here.
>>150905530That's a cool fucking Cerebro
>>150905680Bobby "gay" Drake flirting with a girl, in my X-men?
>>150909549I kind of assume the Shi'ar stuff was a Cockrum idea or suggestion at least in parts given that it's a vaguely Legionish story to the point where the Imperial Guard are Legion homages/parodies.>>150911487The entire impetus for retards to argue that Bobby is gay is that he wasn't interested in Jean when it was just a sign of his immaturity and likely that they were still working ideas out since X-Men was a very making it up as they went kind of book.
>>150903497Stan really was a carnie at heart, wasn't he?
>>150907810"I learned it from you, Hitler!"
>>150905945This could be an interesting What-if?
>>150907340How is this a Gwenschizo thread? Even if it is, he's at least actually contributing something for once that isn't cartoon slop.
