Even if you find the show meh, admit that Tom & Jerry Kids had a banger of a theme song

Also, would you call it a Fox Kids show, even though it wasn't owned by Fox Kids? I would, since it was created for Fox Kids and its entire run was initially there

>Tom & Jerry Kids had a banger of a theme song

theme song stay stuck in my head.
>>
>>150903251
Hell yeah, that theme rocked. The singer was nailing those high notes. I have that among the songs in my phone's "Cartoon Themes" folder.
>>
The saxophone backing was kino.
>>
>>150903251
Tthis show had a ton of reccurring segments/characters yet nobody ever talks about it in /co/. I doubt anyone remembers who Calaboose Cal is.
>>
>>150907122
I doubt even super fans of Tom & Jerry Kids can identify who many of the guys in the second opening are supposed to be besides Calaboose Cal, Wild Mouse and Slowpoke Antonio.

>>
>>150903251
Yea, I can ONLY remember the theme song and maybe some of the characters. Of course, that tends to be the case with many of these Muppet Babies knockoffs. Very few of them did anything interesting to be remembered outside of maybe a catchy theme song or some jokes. I know with A Pup named Scooby Doo, some people enjoyed the bit with Red Herring and how Fred retardedly kept trying to blame him
>>
>>150903251
The artstyle and designs of the show is fantastic. Many What A Cartoon shorts utilized the same art, presumably because they worked on T&J Kids and Droppy Detective.

I thought it was pretty good. It's not as funny or innovative as the original, but is it charming in its own right. But yeah, the Droopy segments are by the best ones, Slick McWolf is a great antagonist.

Pat Ventura was a writer and character designer. He designed Slowpoke Antonio and Lightning Bolt the Super Squirrel.
>>
>>150907863
Definitely. I didn't remember Tom & Jerry Kids looking that good, but it had really good animation and art style. Nice to see What a Cartoon! utilizing the same art
>>
>>150903251
For me it's the Tom and Jerry Show (1975) theme song
>>
>>150903251
never even knew this existed until recently, I just knew hanna barbera, gene deitch and chuck jones for the original series

>Yolker is introduced as a chicken in his introduction
>second appearance makes him human
Why? Same writer, so no excuses.
>>
>>150909985
Another guy took the mantle. Happens all the time. There's been three Hobgoblins.
>>
>>150909985
Mightn't be the writer's fault. Design staff mightn't have been clued in this was the second appearance of a character, and the character's description might not make any mention of him being a chicken or a man in a chicken costume.
>>
Did it have any sexy girls?
>>
>>150910016
JUST 3? Marvel has an over-abundance issue: too many Spiders, too many Goblins (the lady Goblins are hot, though), too many symbiotes, too many psychics.
>>
>>150910564
39 AND A HALF SPIDERS in your BRAIN
>>
David Feiss did animations and storyboards on this.
>>
>>150910609
..."and a HALF"? Oh, right: Spider-Boy. The literal "Why?"
>>
>>150910681
I can see it. Animation looks Cow and Chicken-y.
>>
>>150910513
The Tex Avery Redhead was in most Droopy shorts.

Ewwww!

So was this the kids of Tom & Jerry, or Tom & Jerry as kids? Spike the dog was an adult.
>>
>>150909985
>>150910357
Either someone fucked up or this is some kind of exaggerated parody of how Riddler had two different actors and Catwoman had two three different actresses for Batman 1966 and nobody remarked how different they looked
>>
Surprised e-celebs completely glossed over this show, you would think they would bitch about kid Tom getting tormented and beaten up by adults at times.

Fun fact to keep the thread alive: Sledgehammer O' Possum from What A Cartoon was made because Pat Ventura was denied a Screwy Squirrel cartoon by Joe Barbera himself. The modernized Screwy was used in Droopy, Master Detective.

Still one of the better T&J TV adaptations by default, many of them suck except Tales.
>>
Why does nobody care for this show? It has 65 episodes and a spinoff. Come here /co/niggers.
>>
>>150903251
>>150918082
Couldn't stand this show because it was always on. Literally the stay at home sick day cartoon long before Baby Loony Toons.

>It has 65 episodes
Shit would be on for hours that I'm pretty sure they plowed through most of it within the week before repeating.
>>
>>150903251
The whole title sequence is great (the one where they're on a construction site). Srikk probably one of my all time favorite title sequences.
>>
>>150907195

I know the Yellow Cat's name is Clyde

>No matter how hard Time Warner tries, newly added characters will never as iconic as the originals
>>
>>150903251
Does anyone remember this show being on Fox Kids? It was on saturday mornings and weekday afternoons. Clearly everyone posting here remembers it, but how many of you remember it being on Fox Kids?
>>
>>150922357

It was on Channel 7 and 1:30 pm on Cartoon Network down here
>>
>>150914084
I wish Pat got his own show, he deserved it.
>>
Remember when they brought back Blast-Off Buzzard? Nobody on /co/ knows who that is.

Yeah, T&JK, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs and BTAS in the afternoon. My local Fox station would also play Conan the Adventurer and King Arthur and the Knights of Justice in the morning but I never really had a chance to watch as much of them.
>>
Post the weight gain sequence with Tom.
>>
>>150903251
What was the deal with turning cartoon characters into kids? There was Tom and Jerry Kids, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, Muppet Babies, Baby Looney Tunes, Total Dramarama, Dragon Ball Daima and probably many other I don't know about.
>>
>>150923280
Muppet Babies was a hit, everyone followed it. Simple as that.
>>
Concept art by Jerry Eisenberg showed that the series was pitched with Tom's parents involved.
>>
>>150903251
Why did they start taking away cartoons from those who didn't have cable? By 2002, the only stuff without cable got on weekdays were Kids WB and maybe a few syndicated toons and PBS, but in the 90s, there were a lot of cartoons on weekdays
>>
>>150918388
I enjoyed Baby Looney Tunes, it was a good slice-of-life show. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it these days (except maybe for the Floyd episodes) but it was good for what it was. I mean, nobody gives shit to Franklin for not having enough action or adventure. Also, it's kinda ironic that WB later made an action/adventure Looney Tunes spin-off and people hated it even more.
>>
>>150923482
Baby Looney Tunes is what people expected Tiny Toon Adventures to be like. Except it came out over a decade later, when the "Baby spinoff" phase was long dead.

This is the episode that inspired by Master Detective spinoff. They made a couple sequels later on.

Any more concept art?
