I'm reading through the marvel compendiums right now. Is this worth reading afterwards?

Generation 2 is weird but has some cool moments. Regeneration One is just Furman fellating himself 20 years past his prime.

Hardcovers include the UK comics while the softcovers just do the basic Marvel run.

Well the second compendium includes the G2 comics so I guess I would read regeneration 1 after. I've heard that G2 doesn't really satisfyingly end the marvel run

Might as well, to contrast it to Gen 2. Whichever one you don't like you can shrug off as non canon.
