none of you can consider yourselves comic book fans. you dont go to comic book stores, most of you pirate, you skim storytime threads hoping to see something to complain about, you dont go to cons or care much for ACTUAL comic industry news or ways the industry can improve, barely any of you draw or write. Most of you dont read comics and even if you do its only big two shit there is so much more out there. you're all posers.
>>
and you couldn’t be more obvious a shill if you tried

>you dont go to comic book stores
I do.
>most of you pirate
90% of the things I bought in the last 5 years is because of a /co/ storytime.
>its only big two shit
Weapons of Mass Diplomacy bitch. Also bought because of a /co/ storytime.

>you dont go to comic book stores
I'm short on cash so I don't have a pull list but I do visit when looking for gifts to give and I peruse an LCS when I can when out of town if they have anything out of print
>most of you pirate
True but I also visit libraries
>skim storytime threads
I make storytime threads
>care much for ACTUAL comic industry news
I pay attention to monthly solicitations right on the dot
>ways the industry can improve
It's a broken record at this point
More attention and promotion for non-cape and non-licensed comics
Animated adaptations help
>barely any of you draw or write
I tried

Every time I got back to my hometown I see my childhood comic book store has consumed another storefront in the strip mall it's situated. Puts a smile on my face every time
>>
>>150915853
Comic stores don't really exist any more. Every one I go to in the last 8 or so years are really just a shitload of funkos, statues, and old figures. Barely a comic in any of them.
>>
>>150915853
>you dont go to comic book stores

And how do you suppose you know that, faggot?
>>
>>150915853
There probably isn't a "comic book store" within 200 miles of me, meaning a store primarily focused on comic books and not /tg/?
>>
stop being such a fag op
>>
In my country we buy comics in bookstores.

>none of you can consider yourselves comic book fans.
Sure, since I prefer webcomics, indie comics and non-industry comics not made by the alphabet cult or endless cape shit. Hell, manga is better than the industry atm.
>you dont go to comic book stores, most of you pirate
Barely any exist, and the few that do are usually card/hobby shops that have a shit selection, that and you can do it all online now. None of the mainstream drivel is worth buying to begin with.
>you skim storytime threads hoping to see something to complain about
I mean, it's NOT hard to, especially the last big one was the Harley Quinn fart comic made by a fetish lesbo.
>you dont go to cons or care much for ACTUAL comic industry news or ways the industry can improve
Stopped going when wokies started spewing on the panels about "decolonizing writing and culture" in the industry. Also, the weird juxtaposition of families and then half-naked cosplayers with their vags and tits sloppily hanging out and strutting around, around families. Then you are a creep if you even give a side-way glance to the whores on display. It's like they kicked the actual fans out to safe-guard degenerate whore cosplayers and then appealing to families at the same time and then humping after the approval of wokies.
>Most of you dont read comics and even if you do its only big two shit there is so much more out there. you're all posers.
The real posers are the fags who took over and began corrupting almost all niche hobbies into rainbow flag vomit inclusion.
>barely any of you draw or write
I do, and I used to go to cons at the end mainly for the workshops and seminars, and subsequently stopped going when the panels were filled with, and I shit you not, lesbos and troons talking about "decolonizing" writing and hiring sensitivity writers and lecturing and expecting writers attending the workshop to be inclusive. One workshop was about worldbuilding and it was shitting on European influences in fantasy.
>>
>>150915916
Same with the first two points. Comics are often extremely expensive for what they are and like all collector hobbies take up space. If something is actually good I will very happily support them
>>
>>150915853
I haven't bought a Big 2 comic in years
>>
>>150915996
>consumed another storefront
they expand? in a time when most comics stores are closing ?
>>
>>150916611
it's more likely the strip mall itself is collapsing and the rent is cheap
>>
>>150915853
Unused to go to the comic store, but mine closed down. Plus it was getting too expensive.
>>
>>150915853
I love the medium, but I can't call myself a fan of comics. I probably read more than 99% of comic book posters here, but I also dislike more comics than anyone else. I want comics to be good, not pretend comics ARE good.
>>
/co/ is full of outrage tourists who constantly out themselves. It is impossible to properly talk about comics here. They are a niche of a niche. Even a dumb mainstream series like Absolute Batman gets more traction when it's connected to politics (the Chuck Dixon situation). And most people commenting on shit like Absolute haven't read it and just make surface level comments about how it looks.
>>
>>150916611
Yep! They've blown out the walls and taken over like 3 out of the six shops. Supposedly they even own the club that's shop number 4 and allow it to keep existing.
>>
>>150915853
I occasionally go to the comic store. Like once or twice a month. Usually to buy only one series. I can only keep up with one series at a time. This time it's Emma Frost White Queen, which ends this month at 5 issues long.

Trade paperbacks and hardcovers take up shelf space, which I don't have. When I buy something new, something old has to go.

My eyesight is getting bad too, so I can't even read many print comics.
>>
But I do go to the comic stores ):
The old man even knows me and puts stuff to the side if I ask
>>
>>150915853
I buy comic books at the store
Then I check storytime threads to if anons also hooted and hollered at whichever pages

But they didn't because no one reads anything besides what the week's clickbait title is
>>
im selling all my comics.
>>
>>150915853
Even if I had a local comic store to vote with my wallet at, I've been profoundly disappointed by modern comics so many times that it would be financially retarded to keep buying them, and even if I were to support something I believe is genuinely good, what difference would it make when the new #1 relaunch of a hero that's been relaunched a dozen times in the last 3 years hits the #1 spot and sends the publisher chasing that shit for the next year.

I've tried to support comics and even when they were tolerably good, the publisher still mismanaged things, shit the bed, fired the writer, replaced them with someone worse, and because it was a new #1, it sold well enough to guarantee that the next year of comics wasn't worth paying a cent for.
>>
>comic book stores
anon most of 4chan especially /co/ are third worlders . places like that dont have american style comic book stores
>>
>>150915853
There's a local comic convention coming up at the end of the month in my town. It's a convention held twice a year.

And I don't think I'll go. I have way too many comics as it is. I usually don't find good deals there. There are no guests I really want to see either.

And it's just depressing seeing how fat, single, unhealthy, and out of shape so many of these comic fans are.
>>
>>150915853
I visit a comic shop once a week to shoot the shit with my friends, I just went to a con yesterday, I've been reading Absolute DC, PKJ Hulk, Fraction Batman, McKay Moon Knight, Ewing Thor, Battle Beast, and Transformers.

By the way at the con I said hi to Mike Hawthorne, met PKJ, and had Francine Delgado draw me something (nice woman).

>>150915853
>you dont go to comic book stores, most of you pirate
There are collectors with longboxes full of things they've never read and have no idea the creative teams behind only the cover price and speculative value of the title. I'm not going to even start with the grating fuckwits behind the desk or in ownership of most LCS. Not all, but more than enough to make an impression.
>you dont go to cons
Worthless gathering of shallow exhibitionists and aimless consumers, unsurprised you consider this an affront
>or care much for ACTUAL comic industry news or ways the industry can improve
The editors and executives have already made their decision on the matter decades ago regardless of how up to date anyone keeps

Be silent you weekend engagement starved reactionary imbecile.

It's actually insane how the price of new floppies are double that from 15 years. They reduced the prices in 2008 due to the recession and this lower price point combined with the fact that 2008-2014 actually had some legitimately great runs had me actually buying quite a few. It's such a shame that they got so expensive on top of going from 5-6 good runs to maybe 2-3 if I squint really hard

We could talk about the industry, but tranny jannies will delete the threads asap and ban you on the spot. BUT?!?! We can't address the elephant in the room because 4cuck has been compromised and it's considered "le culture war" or /pol/ which is just bullshit reframing of the culture war to try and snuff out any opposition voices to the artificial culture we're being forced to consume simply by being to it proxy. Fuckin bullshit and so too is this cucked website when back in "ye olden days" you could discuss this shit at LENGTH on /co/, and then they just shut that shit down and expect anons to go to /pol/ to discuss /co/ topics. Bullshit.

There are people who are fans of any number of things without caring how sausage is made - few Taylor Swift fans read industry trades and if they do look at something, it's for a review, it's very specific news (probably some of the lawsuit stuff), or it's ticket sales for the tour, the movie(s), albums, etc. Ditto for say fans of John Cena, Brad Pitt, Sidney Sweeney, Selina Gomez, or any other actor.

And fans of these people don't feel like they need to act, or perform, or sing, or write screenplays, songs, or movies, to be 'real fans.'

As for the rest of your laundry list, it's an annoying shit post that doesn't actually say anything and thus doesn't actually mean anything.
