Saying Ben was an addict is a braindead surface level SLOW take. There was nothing negative about Feedback except that Ben is a little shit who wasn't using his powers responsibly. Using Feedback is portrayed as a good thing. And he never once struggled not to pick Feedback. They just wanted to do more with the concept of a person unlocking all these different parts of himself that no one else has by giving him an extremely deep emotional connection with one of them.It's no coincidence that the people who push this narrative are the same people who push the narrative that Ben's a loser who gave up after losing Feedback, even though Ben says in the episode he did not do that and the crew specifically mentioned removing that idea from the script. Every time you see someone lying about a show to make it look less inspired, it's because they're a shill here to demoralise you and discourage people from trying new ideas. They're saying if you try to tell a new story we will just go on the internet and lie about it 24/7 for decades to trick people into thinking it's just like every other story. And they pretend they're just too small-brained to understand new concepts, but that's not a thing. I know what they are.
