Cartoons have gone to shit because cartoon studios have realized that a large portion of their potential watchers have moved onto streaming animated shorts and don't even watch TV anymore. Advertisers have realized it as well and aren't willing to pay as much for cartoon ad tv spots. So the studios have been forced to cut corners and skeleton-ize staff. Back when every kid was watching cartoons, there was enough ad money rolling in to be able to afford detailed artwork and animation. Now things are so tight they are keeping things simple and easily animated, and doing it entirely digital so they don't have to pay for a korean sweatshop to do it for them.TL;DR: Crap like Cocomelon killed cartoons.
