Is it good or bad? Are there any shows that do it exceptionally well? I remeber hating shows with obviously tweened animation when I was a kid.

hanna barbera did it using animation cels
the multiplanar camera can only move layers in a single direction at a time, making it similar to tweening in concept

so pretty much like any other animation

Should've clarified I'm talked about 2D specifically. 3D is a whole other ballpark
