>>
It had two.

>making a kid's cartoon out of a movie they're too young to watch
Do we still do this?
>>
>>150949315
Thanks for reminding me

Just wanna say prime directives is really underrated

And it was the shit.
>>
>>150949818
We don't make cartoons based on movies at all any more, unless that movie is also animated. When was the last time it happened, Men in Black?

I 'member the 90s one
>>
>>150949315
They made TWO, because they desperately wanted to tap into RoboCop's accidentally toyetic energy and inexplicable young fanbase. And both were shit.
>>
>>150949818
No, but nowadays Japan takes old anime series that had blood and/or tits and produces remakes that remove both

Beetlejuice also had a cartoon that ran for 94 episodes

Nice

I think the last of the big ones were GINO Godzilla's cartoon which more or less redeemed GINO Jr by going all in on the whackass world of Godzilla, Men in Black, and that one series about a film that was SUPER PG-13 that included an alien creature crawling up one of the main characters ass and they had to pry it out their anus. Also said aliens were weak to toothpaste I think.
I have no idea what the fuck they were thinking with that last one.

The King Kong cartoon came out after Godzila's
>>
>>150950800
There was a 90s Kong movie?
>>
>>150950806
There was a late 80s modernized Kong Movie which even got a sequel.
>>
>>150950806
No, the cartoon came out in 2000 and took elements from the 30s,70s and 80s movies, they probably wanted to capitalize in the "popularity" of the Godzila cartoon

Cute

Did you know Robocop has Alpha Commando as well.
>>
>>150949818
I watched both Rambo and Robocop as a kid.
>>
>>150950754
That show was alright
>>
>>150950806
It was a whimsically terrible direct to video movie with musical numbers.
>>
>>150949315
I know the Hungarian dub tried to make the cartoon more "adult" by adding mild swearing. Which was weird, cause the dub of the actual movie did the opposite and removed most of the profanities.
>>
>>150949315
no i don't
>>
I remember him being bluer

TWO shows, even. What was with R-rated movies getting kids shows?
>>
>>150953137
That wonderful era where R-rated action movies were so cool that every kid on the block wanted to be the cool kid who snuck into the theatre to watch the badass main character shoot someone's nuts off.
>>
No wonder that generation was so fucked up
>>
>>150949818
Kids loved Robocop and Rambo. My first toy was a Rambo knife
>>
>>150949818
Don't forget about Toxic Crusaders
>>150950765
Give me 5 examples because Devilman Crybaby had way more tits and lots of blood
