Some autistic guy would post on multiple Nintendo and Zelda forums spending all day just shitting up threads and going on and on about his amazing script for a CGI Zelda movie. He seemed to hate everyone on the forums but his main reason for staying was in hopes of getting in contact with Shigeru Miyamoto to give him his script which he was already sure would be accepted instantly. I think he was adamant he was going to get DiC to make it.
This was how some trolls managed to convince him to share his "amazing" script, by making fake e-mail to look like they worked for DiC and asking him to start doing business with them with the promise they'd bring Shigeru Miyamoto on board.

When they got the script it was... amazingly terrible. Bizarre characterization of pretty much everyone, constant plot holes, confusing lines, complete with his self insert OC, the product of a total retard.
They could have just shared it publicly and left it at that, everyone could have a big laugh at it. But it was so bad they decided to buckle down and make it. Parts of it anyway.

Don't forget; this was meant to be a proper conclusion for the DiC cartoon, but would have apparently included later game references (since the cartoon was made shortly after the second game in the series) like Majora's Mask. Dude was seriously obsessed with the cartoon and giving it an ending.

100% unrelated, but I kinda like the idea of a 'sword in the stone' where the twist is that nobody can pull it out because it's buried hilt-down and the blade just cuts through anything trying to grab it. That seems like a clever modern twist on an old idea.

Would certainly require careful extraction so you aren't cutting your hands or impaling yourself chin-first if you try to grip the cross-guards.
>>
>>150977752
I don't know if it's necessarily cowardice, I think it's just the same retardation that plagues development teams, like how Windows makes "improvements" between versions, only to fuck up things like the thumbnails for your folders or browsers changing how the history is browsed.
>>
>>150977754
In my mind, it's more magical, in that the sword simply doesn't cut the person who's supposed to pull it out but cleanly slices through everything else. It discourages people from even trying unless they're very deluded.
I suppose you could try to cheese it by pulling it with your thumb and forefinger and avoiding the edge, but if it's magic, you could say that it burns your fingers as punishment for trying to be 'clever' instead.

Also, that picture is borderline canon, if I remember LtoP correctly.

I can see that working. It's also funny how some works have people just manage to lift the sword and the stone and just use it like a mace
>>
>>150977766
That's generally true but in YT's case it is definitely cowardice. Never forget how they made dislikes publicly unavailable because so many people were disliking White House press videos.

I'm guessing Joey boy must have had notes in his script mentioning Zelda's figure, and the animators went crazy with it like they did with everything else.
That, or someone felt it would be funny and possibly sexy since we know there are some degenerates out there

So I guess Joe_Cracker was given control of the website? I'm not sure of the details here but he's reuploaded the series with ai upscaling and changed some voice lines with his own dubbing. If it's really him he apparently changed the website but used a starter template to make it and left a bunch of the default text and images as they were.

Sounds more like a joke bit for a subversion of the trope.
>"We'll know they're worthy if they can pull our sword from the stone"
>"Sure we might... IF YOU DIDN'T PUT IT IN THERE HILT FIRST!"
>Cuts to a brave knight making his attempt. His arms are out of frame when he tries, after one pull he lifts his hands into frame and looks at the bloody stumps where his fingers used to be

"Sword in stone hilt first" just seems like the deity who put it there was either angry or looking to make fun of mortals. Kind of a big fuck you to the knights trying to get it out. As if the deity is saying "Sure here's your sword, good luck getting it out asshole"

Zelda fans in the 2000s had a unique brand of autism that's hard to describe. They were like a mix of terminally online tumblr people and functional human beings with friends and relationships and shit. I kind of miss it ngl.

They could make it like Samurai Jack's sword where it can't harm the innocent. So a pure-hearted warrior would come along and remove the blade in an act of unshakeable faith, sort of like Jesus walking on water.

>>150984594
He had more mouth when he didn't have a face???

Is that an actual line from the script.

That happened a lot back then. It hardly happens nowadays, but most new shows have a sort-of ending even if they get cancelled.

True, but that guy was fucking next level with his obsession. Like, I've had dreams of being able to revive pic related, but I'd at least try to track down any surviving writers, animators, actors, and so on to get as much info for what the intended ending was, then work from there. Joe or Robert or whatever his name was seemed like the kind of person who wanted "his" vision of an ending for the Zelda cartoon, by just cramming in then new lore stuff into the animated universe's canon.

Who the fuck was that guy supposed to be? It's one of my favorite moments because it's so random, but is there some script/lore reason he appears?
>>
>>150988981
I think the annotations said it was a sage, though I might be remembering wrong. Though for all we know, it wasn't fully explained in the dude's half-assed script, and is probably why they made it such a derby looking guy.

Character introduced in Majora's Mask, he helped with mapping out locations, and his thing was claiming to be a child of the forest and searching for his fairy. He's been a recurring element through several games. Appearing as roughly the same character in Wind Waker, a circus ringleader in Twilight Princess, and a costume in Breath of the Wild; to name a few.
>>
>>150988981
According to the script, that guy is supposed to be Rauru

Does Rauru even show up in the script before that, or is that the only time he's mentioned/appears?
>>
>>150990229
Probably not. If we go off the animations as being straight from the script, the dude was probably jumping around with scenes and not fleshing things out. Of course, he was probably under the impression "get this to Miyamoto-sama, then we'll fine-tune it" or something
>>
>>150990229
There's an archive of the script here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20140925040355/https://htloz.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1618

Rauru does show up earlier to explain that he needs to open the box to free the Light of Courageā„¢.
It doesn't explain why Din's potion turns into Din's key though, that's still a mystery.
>>
>>150988981
>>150989100
Rauru, but with Joe_Cracker's father's likeness.
>>
>>150976708
To give further context, this was specifically on the IGN forums in 2004. The Chief editor for IGN at the time even helped produce the animated shorts, and IIRC, they were only able to make them cuz one of the dudes involved worked on a professional animation studio and had acess to 3d animation software. Remember, back in 2005-2006, 3d animation wasn't too accessible as it is now.

All to make fun of 1 obnoxious dude.
>>
Bump.
>>
>>150989525
Does the west hate tingle? I remember seeing a YouTube video a while back that mentioned he hadn't been in recent Zelda games because the west hated him.
I always thought he was just a fun little gag but didnt love him or hate him.
