It makes perfect sense for it to look like that within the context of the film, it's an armoured flight suit that Oscorp made, and it's shown in the film the Norman collects masks, so teching one out fits. The only way to improve it is to go the route that No Way Home basically did, was take that design and put purple cloth over it. I just wish they hadn't made it look like it was cobbled together with junk and had kept the mask.I said for years before that, if Raimi had kept the same design and put a purple tunic over it, and had the back point of the mask fade into purple, it would have been perfect. It’s good but I’ve always felt it needed some purple in it. I liked what NWH did, with the torn-up hoodie. It takes the Raimi design and brings it a little bit closer to something resembling classic Gobby.

The armor just fits the movie we got better. Although I'd love to see a movie shot/directed/written by Raimi with Old-Tobey fighting a comic accurate Goblin. Somewhat horror themed, "ghosts from your past" kinda thing.
