How would you feel about a cartoon adaption of The Office?
>>151001330No
>>151001330I never watched the office did michael scott fucked off in the later season's
I'd watch any live action comedy if it was animated
>>151001330No this looks like slop>>151001346Yes, 2nd from right on the bottom took over after>>151001351Some of the worst shows are live action comedy adaptations
>>151001330Dilbert actually did get a cartoon adaptation. It wasn't very good. Workplace comedies just don't work that well in 2D animation for some reason. 2D animation gives you all sorts of freedom to put in magic and sci-fi and fantasy stuff. It really shouldn't be limited to a boring office space. Workplace comedies should really just stick to live action. The show is called "the Office" and seeing the actual secenary of the office is just as important as the characters. The same thing with Animal Control and Superstore. I want to see the workplace in live action.
>>151001845I loved Dilbert as a kid for some reason.
>>151001845I mean Dilbert wasn't really a workplace comedy on the show, more a wacky comedy based on an office worker. But for the most part it had a lot of wacky premises beyond the scope of Office Comedy. The Office however is pretty ill suited for a cartoon unless you're going tomake it something it's not. Which...why? What's the point beyond just using a big name?
I think it would be bad. The office is the type of show that is funny because it shows absurd situations in a degree of grounded reality, made more effective by the documentary format. The cartoon element would take that alway from it or make being a cartoon entirely Redundant outside the visuals. I also don't really like series itself because relies so much on cringe humour, that I really don't like. I can see this entire thing completely bitching things up and making an family guy clone on an office setting. But I would watch it I think, just to check out the execution.
>>151001330I think it'd have potential to be exactly as good, for all the highs and lows that implies. Something will be lost in all the genuine actors deliveries and facial expressions but, c'mon the show isn't high art.
>>151001845>Dilbert actually did get a cartoon adaptation. It wasn't very good.It was a bad adaptation but since the source material was fairly mediocre (even before Scott lost his mind) it ends up being an incredible dissection of trends in the 90s, to an even greater degree than Larry Charles' other show, Seinfeld. And even outside modern cultural critique, it manifests a very enjoyable atmosphere and touches upon some timeless points. This is one of my favorite scenes from the show:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egc6SD22riE
>>151001860i remember seeing the intro as a kid, it was fucking phenomenal.
