Which horror franchises and characters do you think have the best (or worst) /co/ related tie-in media?
>>151002544Huh, didn't know puppet master had a comic series. Torch's design will always be cool af btw
>>151002544Aliens has a handful of good ones, but is mostly trash.
>>151003201A lot of Full Moon Ent. movies got tie-in comics back in the 90s and more recently
Scream has the worst because it's never gotten a comic. it has a board game ffs (or ghostface does at least) so why not a comic?
>>151003482>so why not a comic?Because Ghost Face and Scream are owned by two separate entities. The Scream movies pay for use of the mask for the movies because it was an existing mask that the filmmakers found while scouting locations for the original film. So making something Scream related requires licensing the movie rights and the mask rights which makes it harder. In fact I think only Mortal Kombat did it recently. Everything else is usually just Ghost Face branded but no story relation to Scream because they are only licensing the mask/Ghost Face name (Dead By Daylight, the board game you posted etc).
>>151003482>>151003554To add to this, there is a Ghost Face comic, but its fan published. Again, in order to make a Scream comic they would need to license the rights from two companies which would be expensive and challenging to do in general. Same reason why MTVs Scream show didn't use the mask because they didn't want to pay Fun World to use.
Freddy, Jason, and Ash all have solo stuff that ain't bad. The crossover was also fun.
>>151002544none
>>151003482There's two novels. I only read the first one and it was bad and a fucking slog and subject to the whole "can use the Ghostface name and design or everything else but not both (unless you pay more)" thing mentioned in >>151003554
