So I'm reading DC K.O. (I know, but I wanted context for Bart's tie-in) and I can just... hear my brain cells dying, like fat popping on a griddle.

Cant they just SAY 'we're doing a Mortal Kombat' without all of the belaboured hand-wringing about it? And suddenly they have the ability to round up every villian on Earth in a few days just because a story calls for it?
Just DON'T DRAW ATTENTION TO THE VILLAIN PROBLEM.
(But I'm sure DC is going to do a 'Salvation Run II' miniseries or something.)

Like... what the hell is even happening? The universe is circlign the drain -- you mean just like it was durign the Dark Multiverse saga? And when the Source Wall broke open? And, you know -- Final Crisis?

If the event is GOIGN TO BE BRAIN DEAD then LET IS BR BRAIN DEAD. Don't pretend it's of cosmic import or should be taken seriously. Cut out all of the flavour text about Darkseid's nature that ammounts to nothing and doesn't even tie into the weird rules they have constructed for this scenario. Snyder uses turgid prose about cosmic bullshit because Grant Morisson did -- but Grant's text was intentional and always made sense if you parsed it out. Snyder just uses it for texture -- which si fine? But then he ACTS like it carries actual in-story weight.

I'm not a fan os Snyder's 'less talented cover band' approach, but this just feels like an EXTRA egregious example of it.
