Bob Clampett never left Warner Bros in 1946 and stood with the studio until it's end in 1964; What changes?

I could see there being real tension between him and Chuck Jones with Freleng being caught in the middle. Hopefully McKimson would still have had enough creative freedom to produce Foghorn Leghorn and the Tazmanian Devil.

Clampett makes the Tweety/Sylvester series or shared it with Freleng, shares the new version of Daffy (which he helped develop with Draftee Daffy and Great Piggy Bank Robbery) with Jones, and as budgets go down and the public taste changes, creates Beany and Cecil for Warners.

McKimson’s unit gets shut down in 1948 when they downsize (since the Davis unit never existed), and he goes back to animating for Clampett. Freleng, not having many characters of his own, inherits Foghorn Leghorn and that giant mouse.

I don’t think there could be a timeline where the downsizing didn’t happen, unless you rewrite the entire history of the American film industry so the demand for theatrical cartoons remains the same because there’s no downsizing in the industry as a whole, no antitrust order, etc.

I’m not sure Bob could have single-handedly accomplished that by staying at Warner.

The reason for the down scaling was because Art Davis's cartoons were hit and miss, while better then what came out of Famous (baring Popeye of course) and Terrytoons his cartoons were not as good as the other 3, with Clampett still at the studio WB stays a 4 unit studio until 1964 when the studio closed down.

>Clampett moves to merchandising and home 8/16MM distribution management for WB (WB never sold off their pre-1950 film library to Sunset Guild Productions and AAP so he had a reason to stay).

His Beany and Cecil work in the 50s (merch and comics) and 60s says otherwise, if anything Clampett would've got cuter in his later years and Jones would've been the dominate director in the 1950s, if anything Rod Scribner and Izzy Ellis would've stood with Clampett and that would bring things closer to Milt Gross' art and Rod would've had more freedom then he got from McKimson but everything everything would've got standardized with only enough personality to tell the directors apart.

Also, since Clampett stood with the studio until 1964 in this timeline, that means Bill Melendez also stood with Clampett until 1964 as well, meaning unless Charles Schulz took Bill Melendez right away after Warner Bros shut down we could've had no animated Peanuts content in that timeline.
