Was Scrappy really that bad?
>>151004551Yes.
>>151004551No.
>>151004551Maybe
>>151004551Can you repeat the question?
>>151004551Dude try to rewatch the shows and movies where he appears
>>151004551You're not the boss of me now!
The hatedom of Scrappy was rather overblown by the majority, who did not realize that he sorta saved the show that was on the verge of cancellation due to dropping viewership, but it was mostly the changes of the show than the character itself, dropping Fred, Daphne, and Velma suddenly, limited to at least three shorts instead of a regular 11 minute segment, monsters that was originally a prop/disguise controlled by regular humans, who was the twist villain, to monsters that looked realistic enough to boot.
>>151004551He set the standard for the annoying tangential relative
>>151004551No, but the new formula that arrived with him didn't work for long. Although it saved the show in short term, so to speak, it soured the audiences in long term.
>>151004551With the full gang? No.With the Scooby/Shaggy(/Daphie) era? More so.
>>151004551Not really.
.yllaer toN
>>151004551He was okay in small doses
>>151004551Yes
>>151004551Nope.By 13 Ghosts he was one of my favorite characters.
I dunno man, I liked him and always kinda wished they'd try playing him straight again.
>>151004569>>151004681>>151004689NOTHING MAKES SENSE ANYMORE!!!
Should have been an alien with reality warping powers that only Scooby and Shaggy can see
>>151008398Only dum dums could possibly disagree with that
>>151004551Yes and he deserved to die and i hope he rots in hell
>>151004551>>151008670I too watch PointlessHub.
>>151004569>>151004681>>151004689I don't know
>>151004551He was the villain in a movie that might not be canon. That was funny.
>>151004551Yes. The best Scooby toons ended in the 70s.>>151004569FPBP
>>151008844No, you don't.Only I do.
Scrappy's schtick of wanting to beat the shit out of the old monster only to be pulled away breaks the formula because then you just start asking that if every monster is some old fuck in a costume, why don't they just let him? That's why you see a greater emphasis on actual supernatural entities in the Scrappy era, give them a reason to still run.
>>151004694Scoopy and Scrappy Doo is actually airing right now on MeTVtoons. The episodes aren't very good. They are really just Scooby, Scrappy, and Shaggy going on various tours to various locations, where they happen to come across a real monster. A 30 minute episode is divided into 3 segments, and each segment just feels like a chore to get through. Part of the fun of Scooby Doo is playing along with the mystery at home. Making your own guess as to who the villain under the mask is. You don't get to do that in Scooby and Scrappy. Mystery Incorporated draws you in, a 30 minute episode just flies by and you want to watch it again. Scooby and Scrappy feels way longer than 30 minutes.
I like Scrappy, but I'm glad he gets the hate that my GOAT Scooby-Dum would get otherwise.
>>151004551At this point, I don’t care, however bad he was back then means nothing now and attempting to keep dragging out the “scrappy is bad” jokes for generations that don’t even know who scrapply frankly boggles my mind. Either permanently stop using him or use him in a way that isn’t purely an excuse to bash on him.
>>151004551The bit got old VERY quickly.
>>151005354They always claim he saved the show but never provide proof that the show was in danger or that it was saved
here
>>151004551No. A lot of retards will say "he destroyed the dynamic" but then pretend the dynamic wasn't always "the two retards goof off while the others solve the mystery". Scrappy gave Scooby and Shaggy a reason to be proactive in the show.https://archive.org/details/scooby-doo-and-scrappy-doo/01-02+-+The+Night+Ghoul+of+Wonderworld.mp4 You can watch the show yourself and form your opinion, but a few episodes in and you can see the gang shutting Scrappy up pretty easily, almost like he isn't really an obnoxious cunt like his detractors like to parrot.
>>151010975>but never provide proof that the show was in danger or that it was savedthe proof was literally from the showrunner of scooby-dooliterally a first-hand account
>>151004551We need a Scooby reboot that's him and the scrapped guy Mike on a wacky road trip together as the outcasts.
>>151004551No he was fine. Honestly 80's era Scooby is fun.
>>151010609Because he's a little puppy with an attitude. He couldn't even beat up an old men let alone a real monster.
>>151004551Yeah, he sold drugs and was killed by a rival cartel gang
>>151004551I didn't hate him, but red shirt Shaggy was a kino equalizer so that might've had a big part to play in my opinion of him
>>151013448So a biased account with nothing more than his feelings to back it upAny internal memos saying the show is going to be cancelled if changes arent madeAnything showing how pleased they were with sales and ratings after scrappy was introducedBecause scrappy was around for a long timeIts more likely they just got a new generation of viewers and scrappy just happened to be there at the timeOdd that he saved the show but all that saving meant it was about a decade before he was acknowledged in the films anx then he was the villain and after that was wiped from existence only to be a jokeDoesnt sound like a franchise saver to me
>>151004551He added nothing to the episodes. All the time he wanted to fight was interrupted by Scooby grabbing him and running off. At best he was a discount Fred, flipping a switch that led to the bad guy getting caught while focused on Scooby and Shaggy.
>>151013872Mike was at the other end of the gun, ready to take him out for having stolen his fame.
>>151010823It got better when Daphne returned. So then without Fred’s leadership and Velma’s genius, having them solve the mystery without any “Mary Sue-ness.”
>>151004551It's just a cigarette, and it cannot be that bad?
>>151004551Will he Scrappy the Doo?
